Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: Environmental factors, such as peers, the school environment and internet use play a major role in the mental development of adolescents. Teenagers with low self-determination are unable to determine the direction of their lives and will easily be carried away by negative influences from the environment. Objective: This community service activity is aimed at honing self-determination skills so that teenagers will be able to determine their life goals and create decision for himself. Method: Activities were carried out in the coastal area of Pekanbaru City, Riau Provine The teenagers involved were 29 teenagers in RW 11 Sri Meranti Village with an age range of 12 – 18 years. Activities are carried out in 3 stages, firstly, education about adolescent mental health. Furthermore, the teenagers were given self-determination training and independent tasks to make the personal changes they want to achieve. Results: based on the results of the training, there was an increase in participants' knowledge about adolescent mental health and self-determination scores. Impact: Teenagers are able to recognize their own potential, make short-term and long-term plans for their lives and make commitments to the changes they want to make. Abstract

Bullying in school environments is a serious issue frequently faced by adolescents, negatively impacting students' social and emotional development. This community service was conducted at SD Negeri 46 Pekanbaru to identify bullying issues and provide education on bullying prevention to students. The methods used included surveys, interviews, observations, and educational activities with lectures and animated video presentations. Pre-tests and post-tests were administered before and after the educational activities to measure the students' increased knowledge about bullying. The results indicated a significant improvement in students' understanding, with an average pre-test score of 70 increasing to 90.5 in the post-test. This educational intervention successfully raised students' awareness of bullying and prevention steps, creating a safer and more conducive learning environment.

Abstract

Stress is a problem that often arise due to an imbalance between demands and abilities, result in physical and psychological disorders. Prolonged stress experienced during adolescence can result in negative impacts such as depression. The aim of this service is to increase the knowledge and abilities of teenagers about stress and stress management among teenage students at Nurul Falah Middle School, Sialangrampai Village, Kulim, Pekanbaru City, Riau. The method used was lecture explanations, questions and answers and demonstrations given by the presenters to Nurul Falah Middle School students. US a result of this activity, it was found that there was a significant increase in knowledge, with the aver age participant understanding score increasing from 40 to 80. From these results, it can be concluded that health education is effective in increasing teenagers' knowledge regarding stress and how to manage stress in teenagers.

Abstract

Poor mental health can reduce employee job satisfaction and increase the risk of burnout. When employees are not feeling well mentally, they are more likely to experience burnout, which can lead to high employee turnover. This activity aims to increase workers' understanding of workplace anxiety and provide effective strategies for managing and overcoming the problem, in order to support better mental health. This activity uses lecture methods, interactive discussions, questions and answers and demonstrations or role plays of deep breathing techniques. The counseling went well and according to plan. Participants were very enthusiastic about participating in the counseling and actively participated in the discussion. After the participants did the technique taught, namely deep breathing relaxation, the participants looked more relaxed. It is hoped that the deep breathing relaxation technique is effective as a distraction from anxiety from the participants who attended.

Abstract

The stages of psychosocial development of school-age children are in the industrial phase, namely the ability to produce work, interact and achieve in learning. If school children are unable to achieve their development optimally, then school children will experience low self-esteem. Stimulation of moral and social development of school-age children is an important aspect in supporting psychosocial growth because it can affect social abilities in the future. Without proper stimulation, children can experience obstacles in development that can cause problems such as low self-esteem and lack of self-confidence. The purpose of this service is to stimulate the development of moral and social aspects of school-age children. The method used in this service activity is to carry out stimulation on 30 school-age children by providing stimulation on the moral and social development aspects of school-age children. The results of this service activity show that there is an increase in the moral aspect by 2.7% and the social aspect by 11.9% in school age children. Therefore, stimulation of the development of this aspect is recommended as a health promotion to improve the development of moral and social aspects of school-age children in the mental health service setting in the community.
