Abstract

This research is a survey research. Surveys are used to collect correct data or information using a relatively small sample. The purpose of this study was to describe the reading interest of class VIII of SMP Negeri 1 Watansoppeng on the narrative text of Bugis language. This research was conducted on September 13 - October 11 in the odd semester of 2020/2021. The population in this study were all students of class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Watansoppeng, totaling 192 students. Sampling in this study used the Krejcie and Morgan tables. The sample in this study were 127 students of class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Watansoppeng. The data collection technique used was to provide online questionnaires via Google Form to students. Reading Interests of Class VIII Students of SMP Negeri 1 Watansoppeng towards Narrative Texts in Bugis language are in the medium category with a percentage value of 64.6% (82 students) of 127 students. This means that basically students like reading narrative text in Bugis language, but more because in the context of doing school work, not because they have reading interest in the narrative text in Bugis language

Abstract

The Meaning of the Village Legend in the Collective Memory of the Bugis Community of Maccile Village, Lalabata District, Soppeng Regency. Regional Language and Literature Education Study Program, Department of Indonesian Language and Literature, Faculty of Language and Literature, Makassar State. This study aims to (1) find out the meaning of the village legend icon in the collective memory of the Bugis community, Maccile village, Lalabata district, Soppeng district (2) find out the meaning of the village legend index in the collective memory of the Bugis community, Maccile village, Lalabata district, Soppeng district (3) find out the meaning of the village legend symbol. in the collective memory of the Bugis community, Maccile Village, Lalabata District, Soppeng Regency. This type of research is qualitative research. This research was conducted in Maccile Village, Lalabata District, Soppeng Regency. The research was conducted in June – August 2021. The techniques used to obtain data in this study were interview techniques and documentation techniques. The techniques used to analyze the data are: data reduction, data presentation, and data retrieval. The results of this study note that the meaning of the legend of the name of the village in Maccile Village is the meaning of the icon, index, and also the meaning of the symbol, one of which is Maccile. with flowing water, then the meaning of the index in Maccile's name is a natural phenomenon in which the spring seeps in the sense of flowing, the name Maccile is associated with the name of the cleric named I Chile, while the meaning of the symbol in Maccile is the name of the cleric, namely I Chile and the water seeps in the sense of flowing.

Abstract

This research is quantitative descriptive. The method used is quantitative descriptive which is non- experimental. The purpose of this study was to describe the mastery of Bugis vocabulary in the aspects of nouns, adjectives, verbs and numbers using maqgalaceng playing media for fifth grade students of SDN 257 Akkalibatue, Soppeng Regency. The population of this study were all students in grade V SD Negeri 257 Akkalibatue Soppeng Regency totaling 16 students. The sample of this research is 16 students if the research subject is less than 100 people, it is better to take all of them so that the technique of determining the sample if all members of the population are used as the sample is called the total sample. The students' mastery of the vocabulary of the Bugis language that has been determined is that from the results of the study with a value range of 75-100, 8 samples were obtained with a percentage of 50% being in the master category while the samples that obtained a value of 0-74 obtained 8 samples with a percentage of 50% being in the non- mastering category. This means that the mastery of Bugis language vocabulary using the maqgalaceng game media for fifth grade students of SD Negeri 257 Akkalibatue, Soppeng Regency is in the under-mastered category because of the 16 samples only 50% have mastered it.

Abstract

Forms and Meanings of Expression Connotations in the Mapettuada Process of Bugis Traditional Marriage Traditions in Liliriaja District, Soppeng Regency. This study aims to describe the form and meaning of expressions in the mapettuada procession of the Bugis traditional marriage tradition in Liliriaja District, Soppeng Regency. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The data of this research are in the form of mapettuada expressions in the traditional Bugis marriage tradition in Liliriaja District, Soppeng Regency. The data techniques used in this study were observation, interview, recording, and recording techniques. The results showed that: (1) the form of the expression contained in the mapettuada procession of the Bugis community in Liliriaja District, Soppeng Regency, is a form of assimellereng expression, namely mappoji expressions, these expressions can be seen from the opening stage to the closing stage. The statement of love from the prospective groom as a sign to make the prospective bride his life partner as evidenced by too many processes before the mappettuada is carried out. This statement is very humane as a manifestation of the love that arises even though it uses different expressions, and (2) the expression used in the procession of the Bugis community mapettuada in Liliriaja District, Soppeng Regency contains the meaning of the simplicity and humility of the speaker which shows in every expression spoken, both from the male family and the female side.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan sikap bahasa siswa kelas VIII SMPN 1 Tarowang Kabupaten Jeneponto terhadap bahasa Makassar yang terbagi menjadi 3 ciri yaitu (1) kesetiaan  bahasa (2) kebanggaan bahasa dan (3) kesadaran adanya norma  bahasa. Jenis penelitian ini yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif. Teknik Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan  menggunakan angket luring. Populasi dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 71 siswa sehingga dalam penarikan sampel penelitian menggunakan  total sampling. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMPN 1 Tarowang yang berjumlah 71 siswa. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan  yaitu analisis kuantitatif dengan menggunakan perhitungan  statistic dalam bentuk presentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan (1) kesetiaan bahasa siswa terhadap bahasa Makassar berkategori positif karena secara umum persentase jawaban siswa berada  pada kategori tinggi pada pernyataan positif dengan pilihan alternatif jawaban setuju; (2) kebanggaan bahasa siswa terhadap bahasa Makassar yang berkategori positif karena secara umum presentase jawaban tertinggi siswa pada pernyataan positif ada pada alternatif  jawaban setuju; (3) kesadaran adanya norma bahasa Makassar siswa yang berkategori positif karena secara umum  presentase jawaban tertinggi siswa pada pernyataan  positif ada pada alternatif jawaban setuju.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the ability of speech before using independent learning model, the ability after using independent learning model, and the effect of using independent learning model on students' speech ability. The method used in this research is quantitative method, the research design used is One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population in this study was Class IX students of SMP Negeri 15 Bulukumba, totaling 37 students. The sampling used was using purposive sampling technique. The sample in this study amounted to 19 students. The data collection technique in this study was speech task. The collected data were analyzed with descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The results of data analysis show that the use of independent learning models can affect students' speech skills. The results of hypothesis testing showed that the sig value. 0.038 <0.05 so that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, namely there is an effect of the use of independent learning models on students' speech skills.
