The OBOR (One Belt One Road) project is one of the ambitious steps taken by China in an effort to revitalize the silk road. The OBOR Project seeks to build global connectivity by building land and sea trade routes that will connect China with various countries in Asia, Europe and Africa. One of the countries involved in cooperation with China in the OBOR Project is Indonesia. Abstract

E-cigarettes are one example of the success of the cigarette industry, which was originally only made from rolled tobacco. E-cigarette use is not only among men, but also among women. Women who smoke tend to find it more difficult to quit than men because women experience higher anxiety and mood swings. Researchers want to examine more deeply the phenomenon of female e-cigarette users in Bekasi because the city is one of the contributors to the increase in e-cigarette users in West Java. This study aims to determine the self-meaning of women who use e-cigarettes using qualitative methods and a phenomenological approach. The theory used, namely Alfred Schutz's Phenomenology Theory and G.H Mead and H. Blumer's Symbolic Interaction Theory which became the basis for researchers in conducting research. The results obtained show that each informant has a different meaning because cigarettes are attached to the informants so that they can interpret themselves as confident women who use e-cigarettes and women who are dependent on e-cigarettes. The influencing factors are the friendship environment, positive beliefs about e-cigarettes, because of the desire to relax the mind and body, and the person who always needs nicotine intake.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of the National Central Bureau (NCB) Interpol Indonesia in addressing transnational narcotics crimes in West Java Province between 2020 and 2023. With the increasing complexity of international drug trafficking networks, effective international cooperation becomes essential. This research employs a normative juridical approach with qualitative methods, drawing from primary and secondary legal materials including regulations, reports, and interviews. The findings reveal that the NCB Interpol plays a crucial coordinating role in cross-border law enforcement, particularly through mechanisms such as Red Notices, intelligence sharing, and coordination with domestic institutions including BNN and the National Police. Despite the progress made, challenges such as legal harmonization, jurisdictional issues, and technological barriers still hinder optimal cooperation. Strengthening legal frameworks and enhancing technical capacities are recommended to improve the effectiveness of transnational narcotics crime suppression.

Abstract

The Indonesia-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (IJEPA) is a bilateral economic cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening strategic relations between Indonesia and Japan across various sectors, including the automotive industry. Under the leadership of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), who emphasizes strengthening domestic industries and increasing exports, IJEPA plays a significant role in enhancing the competitiveness of Indonesia’s national automotive sector. This study is grounded in the context of globalization and intense regional competition in the automotive industry, which requires Indonesia to improve production quality, technology, and attract more foreign investment. The objective of this research is to analyze the contribution of IJEPA in strengthening the competitiveness of Indonesia’s automotive industry, particularly during President Jokowi’s administration. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through literature studies, documentation of bilateral agreements, and secondary data analysis from government reports, industry associations, and international institutions. The findings indicate that IJEPA has made a substantial contribution in boosting Japanese investment in Indonesia’s automotive sector, facilitating technology transfer, and expanding export market access to Japan. Additionally, the development of workforce training programs and the strengthening of the domestic supply chain have supported improvements in production quality. The Indonesian government, through industrial policies and investment incentives, has capitalized on the momentum of IJEPA cooperation to accelerate the transformation of the automotive industry toward electric and environmentally friendly vehicles. IJEPA serves as a vital instrument in enhancing the competitiveness of Indonesia’s automotive industry, especially in responding to global demands and the strategic policies of the Jokowi administration. Abstract

Violent anti-Hindu riots in 1984 and 1986 were followed by concerted efforts to ethnically cleanse Kashmiri Hindu Pandits. As many as 350,000 Kashmiri Hindu Pandits became refugees in their homeland. Barbara Harff and Ted Robert Gurr's principles promote ways to manage ethnic and religious conflict, pressure to respect minority rights, democratic institutions, self-determination, international intervention, and coercion to end violence. This research examines Pandit-ethnic conflict resolution using a qualitative approach and literature review methodology based on the principles put forward by Barbara Harff and Ted Robert Gurr. The data collected came from primary sources such as books and academic articles by Harff and Gurr and secondary sources such as journals, books, research reports and documents related to the Pandit ethnic conflict. This theoretical framework emphasizes the importance of respecting the civil and political rights of ethnic and religious minority groups to ensure justice, equality, and long-term peace and stability.
