Abstract

The business world, such as the retail business, has an important role in breaking the chain of spread of the COVID-19 virus because of the large population, mobility, and interaction between people, so this must be anticipated so that the spread of the virus does not spread. Therefore, this new normal life is important to live in order to break the chain of spread of the COVID-19 virus and the wheels of the economy can continue to run by taking maximum possible precautions and following health protocols to prevent the spread and transmission of the COVID-19 virus from getting wider. Based on the results of the research above, several things can be interpreted, namely the survey states that respondents still prefer to carry out shopping activities offline to traditional retail and modern retail, while the use of online or e-commerce platforms in fulfilling household basic needs is still considered very little. This is supported by the survey results, namely the proportion of "Never" shopped at modern retail as much as 8.3%, traditional retail 34.525%, and e-commerce 88.1%, it can be concluded that there are still many respondents who buy groceries offline.

Abstract

Orchid farming has the potential to be developed, because orchids have attractive shapes, colors, and aromas. Despite having great potential, orchid farmers face various obstacles such as productivity fluctuations, land conversion, and market problems that threaten the sustainability of their farming businesses. This study aims to identify factors that influence farmers' decisions in Pamulang District, South Tangerang City, in cultivating orchids. The factors studied include internal factors such as age, education, and experience, as well as external factors such as income, land area, capital, ease of cultivation, market opportunities, farming risks, and the role of the government. The method used is quantitative research with the Rasch Model, where the research sample consisted of 32 orchid farmers. The results of the study showed that ease of obtaining production facilities, availability of land suitable for orchids, and stable market demand are the main factors that encourage farmers to continue their farming businesses. However, the problem of unstable income and difficulty in obtaining capital from external parties, including the government, are the main obstacles. Farmers also consider formal education to have no significant effect on orchid cultivation, which is more influenced by practical experience and non-formal extension. Based on these results, it is recommended that the government provide capital assistance and production facilities with simpler and faster procedures. In addition, improving the quality of extension and training for farmers is also important to increase productivity, especially in the midst of limited land availability.

Abstract

Empowered farmers have the capacity to make choices, access resources, and increase income which in turn can improve their livelihoods. Therefore, the level of empowerment of farmers is crucial to ensure the sustainability of their businesses and to overcome challenges such as unpredictable agricultural conditions. In addition to the importance of farmers' empowerment level, it is also necessary to pay attention to factors that can support the creation of farmers' empowerment in running their business. This study aims to analyze the influence of social capital and institutional support on the level of empowerment of cocoa farmers in the area around mining in Bulungan Regency, especially farmers assisted by PT Pesona Khatulistiwa Nusantara (PKN). The approach used in this research is descriptive quantitative with a case study method. Respondents were determined based on the census method of 108 cocoa farmers assisted by PT PKN. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques and multiple linear regression. The results showed that there is a simultaneous influence of social capital, and institutional support on the level of farmer empowerment. Partial test results of social capital has a significant influence on the level of farmer empowerment (0.037), with an average value indicating that farmers have a fairly good social network consisting of institutional networks, trust, cooperation and norms. However, institutional support did not show a significant effect on the level of farmer empowerment (0.267), which is due to the mismatch of policies with farmers' needs, lack of coordination between institutions, and limited assistance resources. These findings indicate the importance of strengthening social capital and improving institutional support to strengthen farmer empowerment. Some concrete efforts suggested to improve farmer empowerment include adjusting policies to farmers' needs and strengthening cocoa farmers' social networks.

This research uses a mixed method design of quantitative and qualitative. The research method used was the survey method. The data analysis techniques used were descriptive analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. The results show that the condition of sustainable livelihoods of farming households in the peripheral areas of Bandung City is not bad, but improvements are still needed to improve the condition. Abstract

The business trends, particularly in the culinary sector, have been rapidly evolving over the past few decades. This study focuses on analyzing the marketing mix of 7Ps (Product, Price, Place, Promotion, People, Process, Physical Evidence) at Mosa Coffeehouse, a coffee shop in Bandung. The results of interviews and observations indicate a competition that can be enhanced by strengthening the unique values of each coffee shop. Mosa Coffeehouse's consumers, primarily females aged >21 years and millennials with a monthly pocket money of >Rp 2,000,000, show a preference for original Indonesian coffee products and a variety of food menu options. Prices are adjusted based on product quality, and the strategic location, professional service, appealing interior design, and comfortable facilities enhance the allure of the coffee shop. Despite incorporating most aspects of the marketing mix, weaknesses are identified in the promotion aspect, where the lack of a marketing team and the absence of a digital marketing strategy remain obstacles. Improvements in this aspect could enhance the visibility and competitiveness of Mosa Coffeehouse in the Bandung coffee shop market.
