Abstract

Backgrounds: Hypertension is a disease that affects many elderly people. One effort that can be done to treat hypertension is to provide a combination therapy of progressive muscle relaxation and music therapy (RESIK). Objectives: The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of RESIK therapy on clients with hypertension. Methods: The type of research used is a case study with a total sample of 3 respondents. The implementation of this study began with a pre test (measurement of blood pressure before being given RESIK therapy). Then give RESIK therapy 2x a day for 6 days with a duration of 25-30 minutes. After 6 days, blood pressure was measured again as post test data. Research data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. Results: Research results withWilcoxon test obtained sig. (2-tailed) has a value of 0.002 where the value is 0.002 <0.05 so it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of the combination therapy of progressive muscle relaxation and music therapy (RESIK) on blood pressure in the elderly. Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that there is a significant effect of RESIK therapy on reducing blood pressure in the elderly. Elderly people with hypertension are expected to carry out this RESIK therapy intervention independently, practically, efficiently and serve as an alternative complementary therapy to reduce blood pressure.

One of the complementary therapies to reduce joint pain in the elderly is a Combination Therapy of Acupressure and Warm Compresses (Aku-SeHat). Objectives: This case study aims to determine the effect of a Combination Therapy of Acupressure and Warm Compresses (Aku-SeHat) to reduce joint pain in the elderly. Methods: The research method uses a case study design. The sample used was 3 elderly with inclusion criteria belonging to having complaints of knee joint pain in the category of severe pain (scale 7-10) and being able to participate in therapy with predetermined procedures and time. Aku-SeHat therapy is carried out 7 times in 7 days for 30 minutes. Univariate data analysis is presented in the frequency distribution while bivariate analysis uses the Wilcoxon test. Results: The results of the case study showed that there was a significant effect of giving Aku-SeHat therapy to reduce joint pain in the elderly with the Wilcoxon test results obtained a p-value of 0.0001 (p <0.05). Conclusion: The results of the case study showed that there was a significant effect of giving Aku-SeHat therapy to reduce joint pain in the elderly. Therefore, it is hoped that Aku-SeHat therapy can be an alternative to complementary therapy as a nursing intervention to reduce joint pain.

Abstract

Background: Teenager girls who have experienced menstruation are at high risk of suffering from anemia. Anemia is a level of hemoglobin or the number of red blood cells that is less than normal. One strategy that can be done to overcome the problem of anemia is by giving dragon fruit juice therapy and anemia exercises. This study aims to increase hemoglobin levels in teenage girls with anemia. Objectives: This study aims to evaluate the effect of dragon fruit juice and anemia exercises (BuNga SaNemi) in teenage girls with anemia. Methods: This research used a quantitative approach with the case study method. The research design was a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest without a control group design. Respondents were 2 teenager girls. The intervention was given for 7 days, namely 3 times exercise with a duration of 4-5 minutes and dragon fruit juice every day. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon test. Results: Provision of dragon fruit juice and anemia exercise (BuNga SaNemi) was proven to increase hemoglobin with an average increase of 7.5gr/dl. The results of the Wilcoxon test analysis are Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.001 <0.05 which indicates a significant difference in the hemoglobin value of the two clients before and after the intervention. Conclusion: Giving dragon fruit juice and anemia exercise (BuNga SaNemi) can be used as an alternative method to increase hemoglobin in teenager girls with anemia.
