Abstract

The problem of this research is the low natural science learning outcomes of elementary school students caused by student-centered learning and the inadequate use of teaching materials. This study aims to determine the effect of the problem-based learning model assisted by electronic student worksheets based on liveworksheet on natural science learning outcomes. This study uses a quantitative approach with a nonequivalent control group design. The research sample consists of fifth-grade students from SD Muhammadiyah 29 Sunggal. Data was collected through pretest and posttest, and analyzed using normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis test through Independent Samples t-test. The results show that the average posttest score of the experimental class was 86.08, higher than the control class at 76.33. The t-test resulted in a significant value of p < 0.001 with a mean difference of -9.747 and a 95% confidence interval (-14.095 to -5.398), indicating a significant difference. Based on the data analysis results, it is stated that the problem-based learning model assisted by electronic student worksheets has an impact on improving the learning outcomes of 5th-grade elementary school students in science learning. These findings support the development of student-centered science education aligned with the Merdeka Curriculum

Abstract

Higher order thinking skills (HOTS) are the ability to solve problems, think creatively, think critically, give arguments, and make decisions. Giving an understanding of HOTS makes students have the capabilities according to the 21st century so that they are able to compete and get more space in various sectors needed in life. To realize HOTS student teachers must be more innovative in using learning media, one of which is by using pop up book media. This study aims to see the effect of pop up book learning media on the HOTS ability of students on science and weather material and its effect on class III humans at MIS Nurul Huda binjai. This research framework uses a quasi-experimental design where the research design used is a nonequivalent control group design. Data collection techniques using pretest-posttest. In analyzing the data, researchers used validity, reliability, normality tests with the Wilcoxon test and the Mann-Whitney test. For the validity test, 10 valid questions were found, for the reliability test the results of Cronbranch's alpha = 0.640 (reliable). In the Wilcoxon normality test, the output of the statistical test was found to be Asymp.Sig. (2-tailed) has a value of 0.001 because the value of 0.001 is smaller than 0.05 (0.001 <0.05) there is an effect of using pop up book learning media on students' HOTS abilities. For the Mann-Whitney test, the Asymp.Sig value is found. (2-tailed) of 0.000 <0.05. It can be said that there are differences in the HOTS of students between the experimental class and the control class. This means that there is an effect of using Pop Up Book learning media on the HOTS abilities of class III students on science material in MI.

Abstract

The use of media in learning will provide a learning experience for students because it can involve more senses and give them the freedom to interpret. This study aims to: develop android-based science learning media for elementary school students, obtain android-based science learning media suitable for elementary school students, and determine the response of elementary school students to android-based science learning media. This research is a Research and Development (R&D) study. The development procedure consists of six steps, namely: analysis of potential problems, data collection, product design, design validation, design revision, and product testing. The assessment instrument used is a questionnaire sheet to test the quality of Android-based science learning media products. The assessment of the quality of Android-based science learning media products is conducted by reviewers, peer reviewers, elementary school (SD/MI) teachers, and the response of sixth-grade students. The results of this development research are as follows: 1) Android-based science learning media products on the topic of living organism reproduction for sixth-grade students of SD/MI have been developed, 2) the Android-based science learning media for sixth-grade students of SD/MI on the topic of living organism reproduction has been assessed by reviewers, peer reviewers, and SD/MI teachers with a rating of "Very Good" (SB) with a score of 631 and a percentage rating of 86.85%, and 3) the response of sixth grade students of SD/MI to the Android-based science learning media falls within the "Agree and Strongly Agree" interval, resulting in a score of 635 with a rating percentage of 88.23%.
