Abstract

In 2021, all provinces in Sumatera had a lower early childhood education gross enrollment rate achievement compared to the national level, and the achievements varied among the districts/cities within them. This indicates that preschool participation in Sumatera is still low and uneven. However, the supporting infrastructure for preschool education in Sumatera is relatively adequate compared to other islands. The aim of this study is to determine the variables at individual and district/city level that significantly influence preschool education participation status in Sumatera, along with the magnitude of their influence. The analytical method used is multilevel binary probit regression. The results found that variables such as child's gender, child's age, classification of residence, household per capita expenditure quintile, household size, mother's internet usage status, mother's highest education level, and teacher-to-child ratio for children aged 3-6 years have a significant influence on the preschool education participation status in Sumatera Island in 2021.

Abstract

Wasting is a form of malnutrition that is dangerous for children. The results of the 2021 Indonesian Nutritional Status Study (SSGI) show that the prevalence of wasting in toddlers in Indonesia is 7.1 percent. This figure has not met the WHO target, namely the prevalence of wasting below 5 percent. In 2021, Aceh Province occupies the third position with the highest prevalence of wasting nationally and is the only province in the Western Region of Indonesia (KBI) that has a prevalence of wasting above 10 percent. If we look at it by district/city, we can see that there are variations in the prevalence of wasting between districts/cities and indicate a regional influence on wasting. The purpose of this research is to find out the general description of the incidence of wasting in children aged 0-59 months (toddlers) in Aceh Province in 2021 and the variables that influence it and its trends. Through a multilevel binary logistic regression model, it was found that gender, birth weight, history of diarrheal disease, and the ratio of health facilities had a significant effect on the incidence of wasting in toddlers in Aceh Province in 2021.

Abstract

Adolescent fertility is fertility that occurs in women aged 15-19 years (BKKBN, 2023). Fertility in adolescents has a higher risk of eclampsia, puerperal endometritis, and systemic infections than women aged 20-24 years (WHO, 2023). In addition, babies born to someone who is still a teenager are also greater at risk of premature birth, low birth weight, and neonatal death. In 2022, the incidence of adolescent fertility in rural areas (136,923 women) is higher than in urban areas (74,505 women). The purpose of this research is to determine the general description and analyze the variables that influence the incidence of adolescents fertility in ever-married women in rural Indonesia in 2022.. The analysis method used is binary logistic regression. Based on the results of data processing from Susenas March 2022, it shows that variables that significantly influence the incidence of adolescents fertility in rural areas are age at first marriage, poverty status, contraceptive use, and internet access.

Abstract

The percentage of elderly people in Indonesia continues to increase, which has an impact on increasing the elderly dependency ratio. Efforts to empower the elderly need to be made so that the addition of elderly people does not become a burden on the young population. Additionally, the health of elderly workers, particularly those with disabilities, must be considered due to their increased vulnerability. NTT, the province with the highest percentage of working elderly and the third highest percentage of people with disabilities in Indonesia in 2022, was chosen for this research. The study aims to identify variables affecting the employment status of elderly people with disabilities in NTT using descriptive and inferential analysis, specifically binary logistic regression. Results show that 21.94 percent of elderly people with disabilities are still working in NTT. Significant variables influencing their decision to work include age, cohabitation status, and type of disability.

Abstract

The Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) is a government policy to realize a living wage for workers. In 2022, 46.12 percent of workers earned less than the UMP. According to the International Labor Organization (ILO), the wages of female workers in Indonesia are 23 percent lower than male workers. Female workers in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) in 2018-2022 received wages below the UMP. The purpose of this study was to determine the general description, variables and variable trends that affect the wage eligibility status of female workers in NTB in 2022. The test results using binary logistic regression show that the variables of age, education, experience, working hours, and type of work have an effect while the training variable has no effect. The tendency of female workers to have a inadequate wage is those who have a young age, the last education of junior high school / equivalent and below, no training, no experience, working hours are not full-time, and blue-collar jobs. The government should regularly monitor and evaluate UMP policies and improve national education programs.
