Abstract

Diabetes mellitus tipe II requires comprehensive handling in controlling blood glucose, both pharmacologically and non pharmacologically. Non-pharmacological ways of handling to improve self-confidence and reduce blood glucose of patients are through self-efficacy and prolanic exercise. Self-efficacy and “prolanis” exercise are initial efforts to prevent, control and overcome DM Type II. This study aims to analyze the role of self-efficacy and “prolanis” exercise in reducing blood glucose in DM Type II patients. This study used a one group pre test - post test design. The sample size of the study was 48 respondents, who were selected by purposive sampling technique. The research instrument used was a self-efficacy questionnaire, standard operating procedures for “prolanis” exercise and blood glucose measurement tools. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. Based on the results of the study, it was known that the average blood glucose level before doing self-efficacy was 94.50 and after doing self-efficacy was 135.50. Meanwhile, the mean blood glucose level of the respondents before doing the “prolanis” exercise was 199.95 and after doing the Prolanis exercise was 175.05. The Wilcoxon test showed p-value = 0.001, which means there was a difference in blood glucose levels between before and after the intervention, so it could be concluded that self-efficacy and prolanic exercise are effective in reducing blood glucose in DM Type II patients. Keywords: self efficacy; prolanic gymnastics; diabetes mellitus type II ABSTRAK Diabetes mellitus tipe II membutuhkan penanganan komprehensif dalam mengontrol glukosa darah, baik secara farmakologis dan non farmakologis. Methods: This research was a pre-experimental study with one group pretest-posttest design. The sampling technique was purposive sampling. Collecting data using questionnaires, observation sheets, and leaflets. Results: The results of the paired sample t-test showed that there was a difference in adolescent compliance in implementing health protocols between before and after being given health education, with p-value = 0.001. Conclusion: Health education using leaflets is effective in increasing adolescent compliance in implementing the COVID-19 health protocol.
