Abstract

Introduction: The maternal mortality can be caused by one of the indirect factors that has a major effect on pregnancy complications that is Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED). In nationally, the risk of CED is at the level of moderate public health problems (10-19%). One of the causes of emergency of CED is low food intake and nutrition knowledge. Purpose: This study aims to determine the relationship between dietary habit and nutritional knowledge with the incidence of CED in pregnant women. Material and Methods: This research is an observational analytic study with cross sectional design. The sample size was 104 pregnant women with purposive sampling technique. The data collected is the characteristics of respondents, the SQ-FFQ questionnaire, the nutrition knowledge questionnaire, and LiLA size of respondents by primary and secondary data. Data analysis was performed using univariate and bivariate analysis. Result: The results showed that there were 26,0% of pregnant women suffering from CED with the majority of respondents having good energy intake (53,8%), good protein intake (57,7%), lack of fat intake (72,1%), good carbohydrate intake (52,9%). Other than that, the majority of pregnant women having proportion of the frequency of staple foods are often (92,3%), side dishes are sometimes (67,3%), vegetables are often (81,7%), fruits are rarely (88,5%), and drinks & supplements are sometimes (61,5%), and good of nutrition knowledge (59,6%). The result of statistical test using Chi-Square that there is correlation between intake of energy, protein, carbohydrate, frequency of side dishes, and nutrition knowledge with the incidence of CED in pregnant women with p value (0,000), (0,001), (0,001), (0,021), dan (0,000). Meanwhile, there is also no correlation between fat intake and the frequency of staple foods, vegetables, fruits, drinks & supplements with the incidence of CED in pregnant women with p value (0,078), (0,829), (0,190), (0,234), dan (0,227). Conclusion : There is a correlation between dietary habits (energy, protein, carbohydrate, and frequency of side dishes) and nutritional knowledge with the incidence of CED in pregnant women. There is no correlation between fat intake and food frquency (staples foods, vegetables, fruits, drinks & supplements) with the incidence of CED in pregnant women at Sudiang Health Care Center.

Abstract

Introduction: Protein is the trigger for the occurrence of obesity and changes in albumin levelsin weight gain. Obesity is one of the most serious public health challenges in the 21st century. Objektive:This study aimed to determine the effects of high-protein complete and uncomplete diet to weight gainand albumin levels in wistar rats. Methods: The samples used 15 wistas rats which were dividedrandomly into 3 groups, each consisting of 5 tails weighing 150-200 g and in healthy condition.Standard AD 2 feed was given to the control group, intervention feed given to complete protein andsoybean intervention feed protein group was uncomplete. The study was conducted for 6 weeks, 2 weeksof adaptation and 4 weeks of intervention. The research method used a true experiment with arandomized control group pretest-posttest desigen. The data collected consisted of weighing the bodyand measuring the rat albumin level which was carried out 2 times before the intervention day 0 andafter the intervention of the 28th day. Data analysis used One Way ANOVA statistical test followed byPost Hoc Tukey and Paired Sample Test was accepted if p <0.05. Results: The results of measurementsof weight gain obtained before the intervention were not significant with p = 0.790 and measurementsafter intervention obtained significant results with a value of p = 0.014, as well as examination ofinsignificant albumin levels before intervention with p = 0.251 and significant on examination after theintervention with a value of p = 0.003. Conclusion: It It can be concluded as an intervention afterweight gain and albumin levels.

Abstract

Introduction: Worm infections will affect the intake, digestion, absorption, and metabolism of food.Worm infection can cause nutritional deficiencies in the form of calories, protein, and vitamins andblood loss which results in a decrease in endurance and cause disruption to child development.Objective: This study aims to describe the incidence of helminthiasis (soil transmitted helminth),intake of vitamin B12 and vitamin C in primary school-aged children in Makassar City. Materials andMethods: The type of research used is descriptive. Sampling was carried out using proportionalrandom sampling with a sample of 88 people in Makassar City representing the Manggala Districtarea namely SD Borong Jambu III Inpres and SD Inpres Perumnas Antang II / I and Tallo Districtnamely Rappokalling 67  Elementary School and Kaluku Bodoa Inpres Elementary School. Datacollection on children's characteristics was carried out by interviewing questionnaires and intakeusing a 2 × 24 hour food recall method, worm examination performed with the Kato Katz technique.Descriptive analysis was carried out using the SPSS application. Results: A total of 15.9% of childrenhad helminthiasis. Children who were positive for helminthiasis were more prevalent in male sexes,namely (22.9%) aged 10 years as much (17.6%) and living in coastal areas as much (23.3%). VitaminB12 intake showed more children who had more helminthiasis with adequate vitamin B12  intake whichwas as much as (85.7%). Whereas the status of helminthiasis based on vitamin C intake shows thatchildren who are positive have more worms with less vitamin C intake which is as much as (100%).Conclusions and Suggestions: Suggestions for the community, especially mothers and children, tomaintain home environmental sanitation, as well as the importance of consuming nutritious food

Abstract

ABSTRAK Pendahaluan: Berat badan lebih dan obesitas sudah merupakan masalah global, dimana salahsatu penyebabnya adalah tingginya konsumsi karbohidrat yang tidak dibarengi denganaktifitas fisik yang cukup. Asupan karbohidrat yang lebih dapat memicu terjadinyahiperglikemia.  Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek diet tinggikarbohidrat terhadap kadar glukosa darah dan berat badan tikus sebelum dan sesudahintervensi. Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental dengan desain tes pradan pasca-grup kontrol. Sampel terdiri dari 15 tikus wistar jantan dengan berat badan ±150–200 gram yang dibagi dalam 3 kelompok. Kelompok kontrol diberikan pakan standar,kelompok perlakuan 1 diberikan tepung pati jagung, dan kelompok perlakuan 2 diberikan gulahalus. Pemeriksaan kadar gula darah dilakukan sebanyak dua kali dan pengukuran berat badandilakukan sebanyak lima kali. Data yang didapatkan dianalisis menggunakan uji One WayAnova dan uji lanjut Post Hoc Tukey pada SPSS. Hasil: Penelitian ini menunjukkan kelompokintervensi dengan pati jagung tidak signifikan berbeda dengan kelompok kontrol namunsignifikan dengan kelompok intervensi gula (nilai p<0,05) untuk kadar glukosa darah.Sedangkan untuk berat badan, berat badan rata-rata semua kelompok signifikan berbeda antarsatu dan yang lainnya (p<0,05) pada pengukuran ke-4 dan 5. Kesimpulan: Perubahan kadarglukosa darah dan rerata berat badan yang signifikan antar kelompok setelah intervensi.

Abstract

Pendahuluan: Prediabetes merupakan fase sebelum diabetes melitus tetapi jika tidak dicegah dapat menyebabkan komplikasi seperti hipertrigliserida, di Kota Makassar jumlah hipertrigliserida meningkat dari 40,13% tahun 2017 menjadi 43,70%  pada tahun 2018. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh rebusan kayu manis terhadap perubahan kadar trigliserida pada prediabetes di Kota Makassar. Metode: Desain Penelitian  quasi ekserimen. Model rancangan adalah non randomized pre test post test with control group. Sebagai sampel mereka yang mengalami prediabetes dan didapatkan dari hasil skreening di masyarakat. Penelitian ini menggunakan kelompok intervensi (n=14 orang) yaitu yang diberikan rebusan dan edukasi kayu manis, sedangkan  kelompok kontrol (n=14 orang) hanya diberikan edukasi kayu manis. Analisis data menggunakan uji t- paired test untuk mengetahui besar perubahan dan uji t- independent untuk mengetahui besar perbedaan antara kedua kelompok. Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebagian besar sampel  perempuan (89,28%), berumur 51-60 tahun, hampir semuanya obesitas sentral (92,86%), mempunyai riwayat keluarga diabetes melitus (71,43%)  dan pendidikan sebagian besar  perguruan tinggi (42,86%). Hasil uji t berpasangan menunjukkan tidak ada perubahan kadar  trigliserida yang signifikan  sebelum dan sesudah intervensi rebusan kayu manis (p=0,109), demikian juga pada kelompok kontrol  tidak ada perubahan kadar trigliserida sebelum dan sesudah pemberian edukasi (p=0,279).  Terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan yang signifikan (p=0,001) setelah diberikan edukasi pada kelompok intervensi dan kelompok kontrol. Tidak ada perbedaan asupan energi, karbohidrat, protein, lemak dan serat sebelum dan sesudah pemberian rebusan kayu manis (intervensi) dan pemberian edukasi (control). Kesimpulan: Tidak ada perubahan kadar trigliserida yang signifikan sebelum dan sesudah konsumsi rebusan kayu manis pada prediabetes. Untuk penelitian berikutnya diharapkan menambah dosis kayu manis dan pemberiaannya lebih lama agar pemberian rebusan kayu manis efektifitas.

Abstract

Pendahuluan: Hipertensi sering juga disebut sebagai silent killer. Prevalensi hipertensi diIndonesia menurut data Riskesdas 2018 pada usia 18 – 24 tahun sebesar 13,2%, usia 25 – 34tahun sebesar 20,13% dan usia 35 – 44 tahun sebesar 31,61%. Tujuan : Penelitian inibertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara asupan makan dan kualitas tidur dengantekanan darah pada mahasiswa overweight Fakultas Kesehatan Masyarakat UniversitasHasanuddin. Bahan dan Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian observasionalanalitik dengan desain cross sectional. Sampel penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa overweightusia ≥ 18 tahun dengan sampel sebanyak 76 orang. Teknik pengambilan sampling ialahdengan menggunakan teknik total sampling, Hasil: Hasil penelitian ini didapatkan bahwasebanyak 76 mahasiswa overweight Fakultas Kesehatan Masyarakat Universitas Hasanuddinmemiliki asupan lemak kurang sebanyak 56,6%, asupan serat kurang sebanyak 100%, asupannatrium kurang sebanyak 85,5%, asupan kalium kurang sebanyak 100%, kemudian mayoritasmemiliki kualitas tidur buruk sebanyak 80,3% serta memiliki tekanan darah sistolik normalsebanyak 65,8% dan tekanan darah diastolik normal sebanyak 51,3%. Hasil uji chi squareyang dilakukan menunjukkan tidak terdapat hubungan signifikan antara asupan makandengan tekanan darah (p>0,05) dan tidak terdapat hubungan signifikan antara kualitas tidurdengan tekanan darah (p>0,05). Kesimpulan: Tidak terdapat hubungan antara asupan makan(asupan lemak, serat, natrium dan kalium) dan kualitas tidur dengan tekanan darah padamahasiswa overweight Fakultas Kesehatan Masyarakat Universitas Hasanuddin.

Abstract

Pendahuluan: Terdapat banyak bahan pangan yang dapat dijadikan sebagai makanan dan obat tradiosional di Indonesia. Salah satu tanaman herbal yang banyak digunakan sebagai obat antihipertensi adalah seledri (Apium graveolens L.). Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran formula terbaik, kandungan zat gizi makro dan mikro minuman serbuk seledri sehingga dapat menyediakan informasi tentang komposisi zat gizi pada produk. Bahan dan Metode: Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif berbasis laboratorium. Produk minuman serbuk seledri dihasilkan dari kristalisasi filtrat seledri dengan adanya penambahan gula. Formula yang dianalisis zat gizinya dipilih dari hasil analisis uji daya terima terhadap 4 formula dengan perbedaan perisa yaitu jahe, daun pandan, kayu manis dan lemon. Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa formula terpilih adalah formula IV (F567) dengan komposisi filtrat 1000 ml, gula 250 g dan ekstrak jahe 20 ml. Kandungan zat makro formula terpilih terdiri dari 26,61 g karbohidrat, 0,26 g lemak, 0,98 g protein, 0,04 g serat kasar dan energi 112,7 kkal. Kandungan zat gizi mikro terdiri dari 1,92 mg natrium, 14,3 mg kalium dan 13,73 mg vitamin C. Kesimpulan: Kandungan zat gizi minuman serbuk seledri tidak jauh berbeda dengan minuman serbuk yang dibuat dari bahan baku lainnya tetapi kurang cocok untuk diminum oleh penderita hipertensi.

Abstract

Introduction: Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disease characterized by high blood sugar levels (hyperglycemia), so the blood sugar levels of DM patients need to be controlled. One way of controlling DM is to take medication, but there are still many patients who are not compliant during treatment so that blood sugar becomes uncontrolled. Objective: To determine the correlation between medication compliance and blood glucose in Type II DM patients in the Tamalanrea Public Health Center working area. Methods: This study used a cross-sectional design. The sample is 85 patients with Type II DM in the working area of ​​the Tamalanrea Health Center which were selected by simple random sampling. The instruments used in the study were MMAS-8 to measure compliance with medication consumption and the Easy Touch GCU tool to measure blood glucose. Results: The results showed that most of the patients had a low level of medication compliance (61.2%). The majority had uncontrolled blood sugar (77.6%). The results of the chi-square test showed a p-value of 0.000 (<0.05). Conclusion: There was a correlation between medication compliance and blood glucose in Type II DM patients in the working area of ​​the Tamalanrea Health Center. Abstract

Introduction: During the pandemic period, a social restriction policy has been implemented which has an impact on all aspects of life. One of them has an impact on students' mental health which can trigger anxiety or depression because they spend more time at home. It can also be influenced by several factors such as diet and physical activity. Objective: To determine the correlation between fast food consumption and physical activity with anxiety and depression. Methods: This study used a cross-sectional design. The research sample was students from the Hasanuddin University health sciences group, totaling 189 people, and was selected using simple random sampling. The instruments used in this study were SQ-FFQ to measure fast food consumption, GPAQ to measure physical activity, and DASS-42 to measure mental health. Results: The results showed that most of the respondents rarely consumed fast food (92.1%) and the majority had moderate levels of physical activity (46.6%). The results of the bivariate analysis showed p-value>0.005 for fast food consumption with anxiety, depression, and general mental disorders and physical activity with general mental disorders. Meanwhile, for physical activity with anxiety and depression obtained p-value <0.005. Conclusion: There is no correlation between the consumption of fast food with anxiety, depression, and general mental disorders. There is a correlation between physical activity with anxiety and depression, but there is no correlation between physical activity and general mental disorders. Students are expected to be able to implement a healthy lifestyle during the pandemic by eating a good diet and increasing physical activity. Abstract

Pendahuluan: Pada masa remaja, terjadi banyak perubahan yang drastis sehingga rentan mengalami masalah gizi dan kesehatan. Untuk itu, keamanan pangan dan halal food bagi siswa menjadi hal yang penting untuk diperhatikan dalam rangka menumbuhkan perilaku yang baik dalam pemilihan makanan jajanan yang aman dan halal. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui gambaran sikap remaja mengenai pemilihan makanan jajanan aman dan halal. Bahan dan Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Juli 2022 di SMPN 2 Parepare dengan jumlah populasi 657 siswa dari kelas VIII dan kelas IX, serta jumlah sampel sebanyak 156 siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel penelitian ini adalah metode simple random sampling. Pengumpulan data didapatkan melalui pengisian kuesioner online (KoboToolbox) dan observasi ke sekolah secara langsung. Adapun metode analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis univariat. Hasil: Pada peneilitian ini didapatkan mayoritas responden berjenis kelamin perempuan (64,7%) dan uang saku per hari responden terbanyak yaitu ≤ Rp10.000 (58,3%). Sikap remaja tentang pemilihan makanan jajanan aman memiliki sikap positif yang tinggi (56,4%) dan sikap negatif (43,6%). Sedangkan, untuk sikap remaja tentang pemilihan makanan jajanan halal memiliki sikap positif (53,2%) dan sikap negatif (46,8%). Kesimpulan: Sikap remaja tentang pemilihan makanan jajanan aman dan halal di SMPN 2 Parepare cenderung memiliki sikap yang positif, tetapi masih banyak siswa yang memiliki sikap negatif. Perlu adanya pemberian edukasi terkait pemilihan makanan jajanan aman dan halal, serta memperhatikan faktor lain yang dapat mempengaruhi sikap dalam memilih makanan jajanan.
