Abstract

This quasi experimental research aimed to know the effectiveness of cooperative learning model of group investigation type viewed by students mathematical problem solving skill. The design which was used was posttest only control design with the population was all students of grade eight of Junior High School TMI Roudlotul Quran Metro in academic year of 2014/2015. The research samples were students of VIIIC and VIIID class that were determined by purposive random sampling. The data of mathematical problem solving skill were obtained by essay test. Based on the result of data analysis, it was concluded that the implementation of cooperative learning model of group investigation type was effective viewed by students mathematical problem solving skill.Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe group investigation ditinjau dari kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Desain yang digunakan adalah posttest-only control design dengan populasi adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP TMI Roudlotul Quran Metro tahun pelajaran 2015/2016. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIIIC dan VIIID yang ditentukan dengan teknik purposive random sampling. Data kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa diperoleh dari tes uraian. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe group investigation efektif ditinjau dari kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa.Kata kunci: efektivitas, group investigation, pemecahan masalah
