Abstract

Analyzing human potential by using fingerprint analysis makes fingerprint analysis can be an alternative method to understand human potential. Before this trend became popular, psychological assessment is the best way to assess human ability for a certain purpose, such as selection, placement test, etc. There is a significant difference between those approaches that needed to be carefully studied, especially for fingerprint analysis. The accuracy of fingerprint analysis can reach to 90% even can figure out 13 weeks old babies' potentials. Scientifically there is no support evidence for this study. In psychology, there is a theory about human development that is not only determined by genetics. Environment brings great influence in determining psychological changes in human. This study focuses on the differences of the results between two approaches, conventional psychological assessment (TKD) and fingerprint analysis. In order to make this study to be more specific, this study will only examine two types of multiple intelligence, which are verbal linguistic and mathematical logic. The results of the study show that fingerprint analysis differs from TKD in assessing verbal linguistic intelligence but not in mathematical logic intelligence. Secondly, the result of fingerprint analysis in verbal-linguistic intelligence and mathematical logic are insignificant can predict actual condition that TKD has.

Abstract

Applying functional coping when dealing with school-related problems is very important that can be benefical to make a good academic performance at the school. There are several factors that can affect the use of coping in adolescents. Parental involvement was assumed can predict the use of coping in adolescents. The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between parental involvement that perceived by students and coping with school-related stress in adolescence. Participants of this study was 405 adolescents in third grade of high school from eight different schools. Perceived parental involvement was measured in two version for father and mother, using Reported Father Involvement Scale (Finley & Schwartz, 2004) and Reported Mother Involvement Scale (Finley, Mira, & Schwartz, 2008). Coping with school-related stress was measured by Coping Accross Situational Questionnaire-Revised (Barnes, 2011). The result showed that there are significant relationship between two types of coping style, that were active coping and internal coping with both perceived father involement and perceived mother involvement.

Abstract

Heavy workload could make teachers have negative perceptions about teacher well-being. Therefore teachers need resilience to withstand the heavy workloads to maintain their well-being. Based on the background, the purpose of this study is to find a relationship between resilience and teacher well-being. It is assumed that resilience can be a predictor of teacher well-being. Participants are 263 teachers who actively teach at various levels of school with teaching duration ranging from 6 months to above 30 years. Data analysis performed using Pearson correlation analysis to see the relationship between variables and simple linear regression to see the role of resilience to teacher well-being. The results showed that resilience has a significant relationship with teacher well-being (value r = .333, p <.01). It means that if the resilience value increases, the value of teacher well-being increases. The results of linear regression analysis showed that resilience explained 11.1% of the teacher well-being variance. This study provides awareness that resilience to teachers can be one of the important things to consider to improve teacher well-being. Based on the results obtained, researchers hope the world of education can provide interventions related to resilience to improve teacher well-being.
