Abstract

In urban communities, the Covid-19 pandemic has caused psychological and mental disorders. Health workers are most affected and vulnerable to psychological disorders, especially those working at Covid-19 referral hospitals such as the Ahmad Yani Hospital. As a result, psychological therapy facilities or media that can improve the psychological health of health workers are needed. The research aimed to determine the urgency and need for healing gardens among health workers, to know about health workers' perceptions and preferences regarding healing garden design, and make recommendations on criteria and design concepts for healing gardens in the Ahmad Yani Hospital area. The study's methods included the distribution of questionnaires and interviews. Descriptive analysis with crosstabulation and frequency techniques is used. A healing garden in the Ahmad Yani Hospital area is regarded as necessary as a psychological therapy medium for improving the psychological health of health workers. During the Covid-19 pandemic in the hospital environment, 97.3% of participants said they needed a green open space that functions as a relaxation area to improve psychological health, and 94.6% said they needed a healing garden. Colour parameters, materials, concepts, space, plants, plant strata, plant functions, facilities, areas/locations, and healing garden criteria are all preferences for health workers. Health workers' preferences for healing garden design are generally relatively consistent across gender and age groups. A nature-oriented healing garden design is the recommended healing garden design for the Ahmad Yani Hospital area (biophilic design).

Abstract

Rapidly growing urbanization results in reduced access to the natural environment, as well as the quantity and quality of urban green spaces (UGS). The area of UGS in Bogor City in 2021 has only reached 4.2%, while the public UGS that is well managed in 2020 is around 75% of the total. Information on people's perceptions and preference studies serves as an important input for UGS planning and management. Psychological methods, including eye-tracking, can provide a comprehensive way to improve understanding of human perception of landscapes. This study aimed to analyze the effect of landscape on psycho-physiology, analyze visual behaviour within different types of landscapes, analyze the evaluation index of urban park landscapes, and obtain recommendations regarding landscape elements. The results of the study showed that observing landscape photos had a significant effect on respondents' psychology and physiological attributes (p<0.05), but was not significant on blood oxygen saturation (p=0.88). Eye tracking indicators showed that tree has the highest fixation count and fixation duration, with the lowest time to first fixation. Respondents' visual behaviour mainly focused on the center point of the photo, vanishing point, dominant objects such as location signs, and randomly on points of interest in the photo. The landscape evaluation index positively correlated with the percentage of greenery. The findings recommend a minimum threshold of greenery for urban parks consisting of a proportion of 22% trees, 14% shrubs, and 12% lawns as a critical point for user perception and preference.

The landscape of Tegaldeeng kampong has very high potential in terms of natural and cultural resources. Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has increased mental health problems in Sukabumi City. Urban parks can integrate environment, society, and health in urban environments by promoting an ecological approach based on contact with nature. This study aims to analyze the effect of performing activities for at least 20 minutes in Taman Alun-alun and Taman Lapang Merdeka on mental health visitors with a sample of 30 people in each park selected through purposive sampling. The data collection method used was experimental, with the One Group Pretest-Posttest research design through The Mental Health Inventory (MHI-38) questionnaire, which had been tested for validity and reliability. The data analysis method used is the Paired Samples T-test with SPSS 22. The results show that performing activities in a city park for at least 20 minutes can improve the mental health of visitors aged 18-25 years during the COVID-19 pandemic, with the highest increase in the average mental health score in Taman Lapang Merdeka because it provides facilities for physical and non-physical activities.
