Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan tahapan dalam pengembangan modul elektronik menulis teks iklan berbasis flip book untuk sekolah menengah pertama. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan analisis kebutuhan siswa dalam menulis teks iklan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode survei. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah kuesioner. Penelitian ini menggunakan skala likert untuk mengukur sikap, pendapat, dan atau persepsi siswa terhadap modul elektronik yang dikembangkan. Penelitian ini menggunakan kuesioner yang dibuat dalam bentuk checklist dengan rentang penilaian 1 sampai 5. Kuesioner yang disusun ditujukan kepada siswa di empat SMP/MTs sederajat di kabupaten Bengkalis. Teknik pengambilan sampel ini berdasarkan kuota sampling yang ditentukan oleh peneliti. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan mengubah nilai kategori menjadi skor penilaian dan menganalisis skor tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 66.5% siswa kesulitan dalam memahami materi teks iklan dan 80.1% siswa menginginkan materi menulis teks iklan disampaikan dengan  media pembelajaran yang menarik, interaktif, dan inovatif, dan 87.1% siswa menginginkan media pembelajaran menulis teks iklan yang memudahkannya belajar secara mandiri. Hal ini menunjukkan perlunya penyusunan modul elektronik untuk menulis teks iklan berbasis flip book.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness level of teaching module in writing descriptive texts for a junior high school level. This research utilized research and development (R and D) method proposed by Sugiyono. This study was conducted in ten steps including: (1) Potentials and problems, (2) Data collection, (3) Product design, (4) design validation, (5) design revision, (6) product trial, (7) product revision, (8) use trial, (9) product revision, and (10) mass production. The subjects in this study were 34 students at grade VIII SMP Negeri 6 Dumai. The data were gathered by conducting an interview and distributing questionnaires. Sources of data were the results of interviews, questionnaires, and literature studies. Then, data in this study were analyzed by using a Likert scale. Based on the results of this study, it could be concluded that Dumai Kotaku teaching module was effective to be used as teaching material for junior high school students. It was seen from the results of the validation assessment by lecturers and teachers, as well as the assessment by students. Moreover, the results of limited trials for students revealed that the final score was in very good category. Lastly, the student assessments and the results of limited trials to students showed a correlated result.

Abstract

Research on the Quality of Student Worksheets (LKPD) using the fishbone diagram strategy aimed to determine the quality of the product in the form of Student Worksheets which were used as teaching material media to help students in developing writing. For this reason, students tended not to have difficulties when learning the writing descriptive text skills. This LKPD used fishbone diagram strategy that resembled a fishbone used in speaking and writing skills. This research was a research and development (R&D). The data analysis technique was quantitative description. The results showed that Student Worksheet writing descriptive text using the fishbone diagram strategy was feasible to be used as a companion to teaching materials. The validation results from material experts stated that LKPD obtained a percentage of 97.6% and 91.7%, while the validation from linguists achieved feasibility with a percentage of 88% and 86%. The feasibility test for field experts (teachers) got a percentage of 93.68% and 94.73% and the trials on grade VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Kota Dumai were obtained with a percentage of 84.62%.

Abstract

The study aims to determine the effect of process skills approach in learning reading explanation text in grade 11 of MA Darul Hikmah Pekanbaru. The method used was a quantitative research method with an experimental research model. The design of this research was one group pret est-postest design. Sampling techniques used was simple random sampling. The population in this study was 78 students with 65 students were chosen as the samples. Data collection technique used multiple choice with 20 questions. This test was used to assess student’s reading skills. Data analysis techniques used the lilifors normality test and chi-square test, then tested the hypothesis using the one-sample test, one-way ANOVA, and two-way ANOVA. The average pretest scores in the control class were 7.65, while the average pretest scores in the experimental class were 6.25. The average postest scores in the control class were 8.9, while the average postest scores in the experimental class were 6.8. The findings showed that there was significant effect of the application of the process skills approach toward learning reading explanation texts in grade 11 students of MA Darul Hikmah Pekanbaru.

Abstract

This paper describes and analyzes the language politeness among students of SMP Negeri 2 Kelayang Kelayang District in Indragiri Hulu Regency. It is qualitative research using an analytical descriptive method, namely analyzing and exposing data found in the form of words. Data analysis techniques begin with data reduction, presentation, and making conclusions and verification of the data. The data collection techniques carried out are recording, listening, and taking notes techniques. The source of the research data is inter-student speech. Based on the research results, it was found that the forms of language politeness compliance were the obedience of the maxim of wisdom, the obedience of the generosity maxim, the obedience of the praise maxim, the obedience of the humility maxim, the obedience of the agreement maxim, and the obedience of sympathy maxim. In addition to the obedience of language politeness, violations of language politeness were also found, namely violations of the maxim of wisdom, violations of the generosity maxim, violations of the praise maxim, violations of the humility maxim, violations of the agreement maxim, and violations of the sympathy maxim. The dominant maxim is the violation of the maxim of praise. In addition to the violation of the praise maxim, a dominant maxim refers to obedience to the generosity maxim.

Abstract

This paper describes and analyzes the errors in the use of affixes in the exposition text for students in class X of SMA Negeri 1 Tapung Hulu. The research is qualitative research using the descriptive-analytical method, which analyzes and explains the data found in the form of words. Data analysis techniques began with data reduction, presentation, conclusion, and data verification. The data collection technique used was the writing skill test and note-taking techniques. The research data source of the exposition text was written by students. Based on the research results, five types of errors in the use of affixes were found. There were errors in the use of prefixes, ber-, ter-, di-, meN-, ke-, and peN-. There was the misuse of infixes –em- and –el-. There was the misuse of suffixes -an, –i, and –kan. There were errors in the use of confixes pen-an, ber-an, ke-an, and per-an. There was incorrect use of join affixes meN-per-kan, ter-per-, di-kan, di-per-i, meN-kan, ke- to meN-per, and -i.
