Abstract

This study aims to describe the improvement of student learning outcomes through learning using E-LKPD based on guided discovery learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. The population in this study were all students of class XI MIPA at SMA Negeri 13 Bandar Lampung for the academic year 2021/2022. The sample in this study is class XI MIPA 2 as the control class and XI MIPA 4 as the experimental class taken using random sampling technique. The research method used is a quasi-experimental with pretest-posttest control group design. The data analysis technique of student learning outcomes uses the t-test on the n-Gain value of students. Learning outcomes data were processed using Microsoft Office Excel 2019 software and analyzed using SPSS software version 25.0 for Windows. Based on the results of the t-test obtained the value of sig. (2-tailed) 0.000 with H0 rejection test criteria if the sig value 0.05. Therefore, in this study, accept H1 which means that the average learning outcomes of students who use E-LKPD based on guided discovery learning in the experimental class are greater than the control class. The results of the effect size test obtained a value of 0.79 with the criteria of “large”. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that learning using E-LKPD based on guided discovery learning is effective in improving student learning outcomes with great influence.

Abstract

This research was conducted using Non-Equivalent (Pretest-Postest) Control Group Design with the aim of describe the effectiveness of the guided inquiry learning model with the help of a virtual laboratory in improving students' mastery of concepts in acid-base material. The sample was taken by using purposive sampling technique and  the population is from all students in grade XI MIPA SMA Negeri 14 Bandar Lampung for 2021/2022 academic year and it was obtained the XI MIPA 1 as the control class and XI MIPA 2 as the experimental class. The results showed that the average n-Gain of students' conceptual mastery for the control class was 0.63 with ‘medium’ criteria and the experimental class was 0.72 with ‘high’ criteria. Based on the two-average difference test that has been carried out, the results of hypothesis testing obtained information that the average value of the n-Gain value of students' conceptual mastery in acid-base material in the experimental class was higher than the average value of the n-Gain value of students' conceptual mastery in the experimental class so that it can be concluded that the guided inquiry learning model with the help of a virtual laboratory in acid-base material can improve students' mastery of concepts. Keywords: guided inquiry, virtual laboratory, concept mastery, acid-base

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effectiveness of the guided inquiry learning model with the help of a virtual laboratory on student learning outcomes on acid-base material. The population in this study were students of class XI science at SMA Negeri 14 Bandarlampung for the academic year 2021/2022, totaling 179 students. Sampling was carried out using purposive sampling technique and assigned class XI IPA 4 as the control class and XI IPA 5 as the experimental class. The research method used in this research is Quasi Experiment with Non Equivalent Control Group Design. Student learning outcomes are obtained from cognitive learning outcomes and affective learning outcomes. Based on Hake's (1998) criteria, the results showed that the average n-Gain of students' cognitive learning outcomes for the control class was 0.38 in the medium category and the experimental class was 0.67 in the medium category, and based on Arikunto's (2006) criteria the average percentage of students' affective learning outcomes for the control class is 61.13% in the high category and the experimental class is 66.81% in the high category. Based on the results of hypothesis testing, it was obtained that the average n-Gain value of cognitive learning outcomes and the average percentage of students' affective learning outcomes in the experimental class was higher than the average n-Gain value of cognitive learning outcomes and the average percentage of participants' affective learning outcomes. students in the control class, so it can be concluded that the guided inquiry learning model with the help of a virtual laboratory is effective in improving student learning outcomes on acid-base material. Keywords: Acid Base, Learning Outcomes, Guided Inquiry, Virtual Laboratory
