Abstract

One model of the transformation of rain into debit is the Hydrologic Engineering Center - Hydrologic Modeling System model or abbreviated as HEC-HMS, and one of the calculation methods is Soil Moisture Accounting. This model simulates the movement of water through and storing water in vegetation, at ground level, in soil profile, and in the groundwater layer. The purpose of this study was to calculate and analyze the resulting value of the Soil Moisture Accounting method with Root Mean Square Error calibration and for the Rokan Watershed with AWLR Pasir Pangaraian. This study uses rain data and discharge data with a data length of 10 years, from 2008-2017. This research took place in the Rokan AWLR Pasir Pangaraian watershed using the HEC-HMS program. Hydrological Modeling uses a calibration method which is the Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) method. Based on the nine calibration decisions, the value of Root Mean Square is best at approval I with a value of 99.10, while the value verification of Root Mean Square is best at reporting II with a value of 90.20425. Abstract

Flood occurs when the water discharge exceeds the capacity of the river, which may harm impact of flooding in municipal area. This research aims to test the reliability of EPA SWMM software in rural area and compare it with the discharge from HEC-HMS. The reliability of the softwares was determined by calculating the difference in discharge error (DE). The simulation was performed by using flood discharge with 5 and 25 years of return period. Based on the test results, the EPA SWMM 5.0 software has good reliability with the calculated DE value less than 5% (2,593% for 5 years-return period and 2,268% for 25 years-return period). For HEC-HMS software, the DE is calculated as 1,196% for 5 years-period discharge and 2,072% for 25 years-period discharge. Therefore, it can be concluded that the HEC-HMS software has better accuracy than the EPA SWMM softwareresidential and agriculture areas. Keywords : Flood discharge, EPA SWMM 5.0, correction difference discharge

Abstract

The availability of water is very important in our life and the other organisms. Use of water is important for daily activities such as household necessities, irrigation, industry, and other activities. In this research, the location isin Rokan Kiri sub-watershed at Lubuk Bendahara Station. The development of the life in Rokan Hulu Regency need repairs and the provision of facilities and infrastructure, including the availability of water. The need forwater will increase from year to year along with developments in various sectors, the agricultural sector, and increasing number of human populations which cause crises and lack or scarcity of water. This situationcertainly making people difficulty to fulfill daily needs. To avoid problems in the future, it is necessary to longterm debt forecasting with one of the methods that can be used, namely Soil Moisture Accounting method, in the HEC-HMS program with some required data, such as rain data, discharge data and climatological data with a one year data period, thai is 2007, where these parameters are inputted to carry out the calibration and verification process that get the most optimal results and close to the results of observations. Based on thisresearch, it can be concluded that the value of the Percent error in discharge volume for one year of calibration is the PEV results for the calibration process results of 4.27% "Very Good" and verification of 57.9%"Unsatisfactory", it can be concluded that good results during the calibration process will not necessarily get good results during the verification process. Keywords: water avalability, soil moisture accounting, hec-hms
