Abstract

Textbooks are one of the components used as learning resources. With textbooks, teachers can find out the material to be studied or studied by students, so that it can make it easier for teachers to choose the learning method used so that learning objectives can be achieved properly. For students, textbooks are used as learning resources in independent learning activities and can be used to repeat and review material that has been delivered by the teacher. Textbooks have a lot of discourse as an introduction to a material in learning. The discourse should be read and understood by students according to their school level. A good discourse is a discourse whose material can be read or understood by students. Therefore, to find out that discourse can be read well by students, it is necessary to measure the level of readability of textbooks. The level of readability of a text can be measured in various ways or methods, one of which is the Fry graph formula. Fry's graphic formula is a readability measurement based on the length of a short sentence whose measurement does not involve the reader. This study uses a sample of discourse in the Indonesian Language Productive textbook for class XI SMK publisher Erlangga.

Abstract

Imaginative literary works are the result of the wishful thinking of an author. The author describes a picture of a person's life through novels. This research is entitled "The Character of the Character in the Novel Putri Komodo by Michael Yudha Winarno". The problems described in this study are: (1) What is the character of the main character, the character of additional characters, (2) How does the author describe the character of the character in the novel Putri Komodo by Michael Yudha Winarno. This study aims to describe, and analyze: Characteristics in the novel Putri Komodo by Michael Yudha Winarno. The author uses the theory of character in prose fiction from Aminuddin (2014) and Burhan Nurgiyantoro (2012). This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The data collection technique is hermeneutic technique. The data validity technique used triangulation technique. The data sources used are the entire contents of the novel Putri Komodo by Michael Yudha Winarno. The data taken in this study is the form of words and sentences that describe the character's character. The results of the research on the character of the character in the novel Putri Komodo by Michael Yudha Winarno, there is the character of the main character, namely Fanty, which is described by the author analytically (directly) and dramatic (indirectly). Additional characters Laila is described by the author analytically (directly), Rosa is described by the author analytically (directly), Mama is described by the author analytically (directly), Father is described by the author analytically (directly), Camelia, is described by the author analytically (directly), Sister Gracia the author is described analytically (directly), Grandma Ato is described by the author analytically (directly), Udis is described by the author analytically (directly), Pak Haji Sobari is described by the author analytically (directly).

Abstract

Abstinence is a tradition that describes a socio-cultural life of the community that has a certain meaning that parents want to convey in educating their children. The problem in this research is how are the social values contained in abstinence in Air Molek 1 Village, Pasir Turtle District, Indragiri Hulu Regency? The purpose of this study is to describe, analyze, interpret, and conclude the social values found in Air Molek 1 Village, Pasir Turtle District, Indragiri Hulu Regency. The method used is descriptive. The data source is the expression of abstinence that was conveyed to the community in Air Molek 1 Village, Pasir Turtle District, Indragiri Hulu Regency. The approach in this research is qualitative. The type of research is field research. The results of this study indicate that abstinence contains social values found in Air Molek 1 Village, Pasir Turtle District, Indragiri Hulu Regency, namely material values, vital values, and spiritual values. For material values, there are 4 data for abstinence, for vital values there are 5 data for abstinence, for spiritual values there are 34 data for abstinence.
