Abstract

Abstract

The research was carried out from November 2021 to January 2022, and the trial period from November 1 to November 12, 2021 at the Germplasm Research Installation for Freshwater Fisheries in Cijeruk, Bogor, West Java. This study aims to determine the embryonic development and early performance of Tawes fish (Barbonymus gonionotus) larvae. This experimental study used 2 male tawes broodstock, 2 female brood fish, and anesthetic drugs. Parameters observed included observation of embryos and early performance of Tawes larvae. The embryo data were analyzed in a qualitative descriptive manner with pictures of each phase of egg development and followed by data on egg hatching time. The results showed that the early embryonic development of Tawes fish generally includes the stages of egg division, morula, blastula, gastrula, segmentation and hatching. The initial performance of Tawes larvae reared at 28oC showed abnormality values of Tawes fish of 5.78±1.52%, average egg diameter of 1.02±0.04 mm, average initial length of larvae of 7.28±0.55 mm.

Abstract

Cannibalism is one of the factors contributing to the slow growth of lobsters. Cannibalism refers to the practice of one member of a species eating all or a portion of another member of the same species for nourishment. Cannibalism results in bodily deformities including missing fins and skin sores. Cannibalism is stimulated by the chemicals that are released from injured skin (amino acids). The level of cannibalism is said to be triggered by the container's mismatched color. This study set out to ascertain the behavior of lobster, including how frequently they molt and how much cannibalism occurs. A completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 repetitions was employed in this study. It is well known that one factor in cultivating operations to boost output is the color of the tank. Color of the backdrop water in natural ecosystems to identify feed. In comparison to other treatments, lobsters raised with color tended to molt more frequently (69.33±0.14%) (P <0.05). In comparison to the treatment, lobsters raised in transparent/control containers had a greater percentage of cannibalism (36.00±0.33%) (P< 0.05)

Abstract

Goldfish is one type of freshwater fish that is quite popular with the public. This study aims to determine the absolute length growth, absolute weight growth and feed efficiency of carp (Cyprinus carpio) fry. This research was conducted on 26 July – 04 November 2022 at the Curug Barang Freshwater Seed Center. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments used were: artificial feeding (A), Daphnia sp feeding (B), Tubipex sp 50% + Daphnia sp 50% combination feeding (C), and Tubipex sp feeding (D). Seed maintenance was carried out for 30 days. During rearing, fish were fed 3 times a day at 08.00, 13.00 and 18.00 WIB. Observation of absolute length, absolute weight, is done every 10 days. The growth in absolute length of carp seeds reared with different types of feed showed significantly different results (P<0.05). The highest absolute length was in the Tubifex sp (D) treatment, which was 1.86 cm and the lowest was in the artificial feed treatment (A), which was 0.78 cm. The absolute weight growth of carp seeds reared by giving different types of feed showed significantly different results (P<0.05). The highest absolute weight growth was found in the Tubifex sp (D) treatment, namely 2.45 grams. The most effective feed efficiency during fish rearing for 30 days was in the feed treatment Tubifex sp (D) with a value of 97.97% and the lowest was in the artificial feed treatment (A) with a value of 72.90%. The survival rate ranges from 99.16 - 99.25%. The survival rates for the Dhapnia sp (B), Dhapnia sp + Tubifex sp (C), Tubifex sp (D) treatments showed significantly different results (P<0.05).

Abstract

Biofloc technology is an alternative in overcoming the problem of feed waste in hard-lipped barb culture media. The decline in hard-lipped barb production was caused by limited knowledge and traditional aquaculture. This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the effect of different feeding levels on the ratio of C/N 20 on the growth of hard-lipped barb (Osteochilus hasselti). This research was conducted in May 2021-June 2022 with a trial period of May-June 2021. The design used was a Completely Randomized Design with 3 treatments (feeding rate 1%, feeding rate 3%, feeding rate 5%) and 4 replications. Parameters observed included specific length growth rate (SLGR), specific weight growth rate (SWGR), feed efficiency (FE), and survival rate (SR). Water quality parameters (DO, temperature, Ammonia, CO2, and pH) were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the different levels of feeding with a C/N ratio of 20 had a significant effect on SLGR, SWGR, FE, and SR. SLGR in the treatment of FR 1% (0.17±0.03), FR 3% (0.28±0.03), and FR 5% (0.32±0.01). SWGR in treatment A (0.33±0.06), B(0.95±0.04), and C(1.53±0.11), FE at 1% FR treatment (16.85±1, 12%), FR 3% (25.04±0.73%), and FR 5% (30.95±1.87%). SR in the treatment of FR 1% (55.83%), FR 3% (59.16%), and FR 5% (68.33%). FR 5% treatment had the highest growth rate compared to FR 1% and FR 3% treatment. The water quality during the 40-day trial period was still within normal limits for Nilem fish cultivation in the biofloc system.

Abstract

Feed is an essential element that supports cultured fish's growth and survival. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of differences in natural and artificial feeding on the growth and survival of dumbo catfish fry (Clarias gariepinus). The research was conducted from July to August 2022 with an experimental period of 40 days. The study used a completely randomized design with three treatments (artificial feeding, maggot feeding, and blood worm feeding) with four replications. The data analysis used was an analysis of variance (ANOVA), which was further tested using the least real difference (BNT). Test parameters include specific weight growth rate, specific length growth rate, absolute length, absolute weight, survival rate, and feed efficiency. The results showed that blood worm feeding significantly affected the parameters of specific weight growth rate, specific length growth rate, absolute length, and absolute weight (P < 0.05). The best growth was found in the bloodworm feeding treatment (specific weight growth rate 4.67 ± 0.31%/day, LPPS 1.88 ± 0.12%/day, absolute length 6.50 ± 0.49 cm, absolute weight 10.26 ± 1.29 g). Artificial and natural feed treatments did not significantly affect survival rate and feed efficiency.
