Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to determine the effectiveness of metacognitive strategies in improving students' reflective thinking skills. The research design was the one-group pretest-posttest design. The population of this research was students of class VIII SMPN in Bandar Lampung. The subjects of this study were 28 students of class VIII.9 at SMPN 2 Bandar Lampung as an experimental class. The instrument was a test of students' reflective thinking skills. The results showed that the proportion of students who had good mathematical reflective thinking skills in the class that followed the metacognitive strategy learning was more than 60% of the total number of students. Metacognitive strategies are effective in terms of the mathematical reflective thinking skills of class VIII students of SMPN 2 Bandar Lampung. Keywords: effectiveness; metacognitive; reflective thinking AbstrakTujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui efektivitas strategi metakognitif terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir reflektif siswa. The one group pretest-posttest design adalah desain yang digunakan. Populasi penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri di Kota Bandar Lampung. Siswa kelas VIII.9di SMPN 2 Bandar Lampung dijadikan subjek penelitian dan sebagai kelas eksperimen dengan jumlah siswa 28 orang. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah tes kemampuan berpikir reflektif siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada kelas yang mengikuti pembelajaran strategi metakognitif, proporsi siswa yang memiliki kemampuan berpikir reflektif matematis terkategori baik yaitu lebih dari 60% dari jumlah siswa. Penerapan strategi metakognitif efektif ditinjau dari kemampuan berpikir reflektif matematis siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung. Kata Kunci: berpikir reflektif; efektivitas; metakognitif    DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/mtk/v10i1.pp53-59

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) learning approach on the ability to understand mathematical concepts in terms of students' Al-Qur'an literacy. This research is a Quasy Experimental Design research with a 2×3 factorial research design. The data collection techniques in this study were in the form of a concept understanding test and an Al-Qur'an literacy questionnaire. The data analysis technique used is the normality test and homogeneity test, and the Two-way ANOVA test. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that there was an effect of the STEM learning approach (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) on the ability to understand students' mathematical concepts in the material of Building Flat Side Space. There is no influence of Al-Qur'an literacy on the ability to understand students' mathematical concepts in the material of Constructing Flat Sided Space. There is no interaction between the treatment of the STEM learning approach (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) with the Al-Qur'an literacy category on the ability to understand mathematical concepts in the matter of Constructing Flat Sided Space. Keywords: al-qur'an literacy; mathematical concept understanding; STEM  DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/mtk/v9i4.pp360-372
