Abstract

SMEs play a crucial role in a country's economy, contributing significantly to GDP, job creation, and income distribution. However, SMEs often face significant challenges, particularly in competing with large corporations and adapting to changing consumer needs. This research focuses on the identification and analysis of innovative strategies that can help SMEs align themselves with community needs. The study adopts a qualitative literature review approach, gathering data from Google Scholar for the period 2018-2023. The results indicate that, in facing challenges and opportunities in the economic landscape, innovative strategies for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) become a fundamental foundation to ensure their relevance and sustainability. A profound understanding of societal needs, the implementation of technology, collaboration, and the enhancement of management skills are key elements in formulating an effective innovative strategy. Through these steps, SMEs can become agents of change, not only meeting consumer expectations but also contributing to sustainable economic growth.

Abstract

Quality human resources (HR) are one of the main pillars in the economic development of a country. The unemployment rate among young people remains relatively high in many areas. Lack of access to training and adequate resources often serves as a major barrier for youth to start their own businesses. Intervention is needed to boost entrepreneurship among young people. This research aims to examine the role of business incubators in enhancing HR competence and promoting entrepreneurship among young people in general. This study is a literature review with a qualitative approach. Data were collected from scholarly articles published during the period 2005-2024, primarily from Google Scholar, which is a credible platform for academic literature search. The study results indicate that business incubators play a central role in developing and accelerating the growth and success of startup companies in Indonesia, especially among young people. In this context, business incubators not only enhance human resource competence through training programs and mentoring but also encourage entrepreneurship by creating a conducive environment for the development of innovative ideas. Business incubators also serve as a link between various elements in the entrepreneurship ecosystem and have a positive impact on the local economy and society as a whole.

Abstract

Sustainable innovation has become an important topic across various business sectors, particularly in micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). For MSMEs, sustainable innovation is crucial for surviving competition and creating significant added value for society. This study focuses on how sustainable innovation can enhance the resilience of MSMEs in fulfilling their role as a driver of community empowerment. The research employs a literature review method with a qualitative approach and descriptive analysis. Data for this study were sourced from the Google Scholar database, covering the period from 2014 to 2024. The findings indicate that sustainable innovation plays a significant role in improving the resilience of MSMEs as a driver of community empowerment. MSMEs are better equipped to face various challenges and contribute to social and economic development in their communities by adopting environmentally friendly, operationally efficient, and market-relevant innovations. Case studies such as Batik Jogja Gallery, Warung Pintar, Kampung Marketer, and EcoBali Recycling illustrate that MSMEs that successfully innovate sustainably can generate enduring economic, social, and environmental value. However, this success heavily relies on support from various stakeholders, particularly regarding access to technology, financing, and favorable regulations.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze strategies for enhancing citizen participation in environmental education through program innovations based on multi-stakeholder collaboration and the use of digital technology. The method employed is a literature review with a qualitative approach and descriptive analysis, primarily intended to enrich references related to community service in the field of environmental studies. Data were collected from scholarly articles in Google Scholar and credible websites within the period of 1977–2025. From the initial 50 articles identified, 27 were selected through a strict screening process based on relevance, quality, and contribution to the research topic. The findings reveal that enhancing citizen participation is influenced by cross-sector collaboration, innovative learning design, and the application of interactive and inclusive digital technologies. Theories such as Civic Engagement, Collaborative Governance, the Technology Acceptance Model, Self-Determination Theory, Social Learning, and Diffusion of Innovations provide relevant conceptual foundations for understanding the dynamics of participation. Case studies such as the Climate Village Program (ProKlim), Digital Waste Bank in Bandung, and Pentingsari Tourism Village in Yogyakarta provide empirical evidence of the successful implementation of these strategies. This research makes an important contribution to the development of participatory-based environmental education, strengthens multi-stakeholder collaboration, and enriches sustainable community service practices.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) product innovation in enhancing competitiveness, economic independence, and family welfare in the era of the creative and digital economy. The method employed is a literature review with a qualitative approach, primarily focused on enriching references related to community service. Data were obtained from scholarly articles on Google Scholar and credible websites covering the period 1962–2025. Out of a total of 50 articles retrieved, only 24 were selected through a rigorous screening process based on relevance and quality. Analysis was conducted descriptively by examining relevant theories, previous studies, and real-world case studies of MSMEs in Indonesia. The findings indicate that product innovation plays a strategic role in creating competitive advantages, strengthening economic independence through the utilization of local resources, and improving family welfare of entrepreneurs through income growth and business sustainability. These findings confirm that product innovation not only impacts business success but also serves as an essential instrument in community service programs to reinforce the role of MSMEs as drivers of the creative and digital economy.
