Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of variations of coconut shell charcoal and bamboo charcoal on briquette characteristics, thus obtained optimum composition that produces briquette with the best characteristic. This research is a laboratory experimentation study, with free variables being charcoal compositions, and bound variables are characteristic briquettes consisting of: Heat value, moisture content, and ignition length. The results showed that variations in the composition of briquette from coconut charcoal and bamboo charcoal influenced briquette characteristics, moisture value, moisture content, and the length of time of ignition. The highest heat value is obtained on the composition of 10% of bamboo charcoal and 90% of coconut shell Charcoal is 7110.73 cal/G with a water content of 4.82% and the length of time of 150.45 minutes.

Abstract

The research on corrosion rate analysis of concrete iron with swampsoil medium has been conducted. The aims of this study were to determine thecorrosion rate and the types of corrosion that occurred in concrete iron withswamp soil medium. The methods of this study are Weight Loss method, AtomicAbsorption Spectroscopy (AAS) test, and Scanning Electron Microscope-EnergyDispersion X-Ray (SEM-EDX). This study used a different immersion timevariant, such as 20 days, 40 days, 65 days, and without medium for 65 days. Theconcrete iron used in this study is concrete U-24 or plain concrete iron 10. Thecorrosion rate that occurs in iron concrete with swamp soil medium at 20 daysimmersion is 20977.5868 mmpy, 40 days immersion is 17721.9174 mmpy, 65days immersion is 16932. 9071 and 65 days without a medium are 3023.3793mmpy. The more time, the rate of corrosion become more slowly due to theinfluence of corrosion products that have occurred. The corrosion rate without themedium is slower than the corrosion rate with the medium. The types of corrosionthat occurs in concrete iron with swamp soil medium are crevice corrosion andpitting corrosion.

Abstract

Research has been conducted to determine the effect of biobriquette fuel types on electric power generated in miniature steam power plants. This study uses four fuels, namely raw materials for coconut shell and wood, and biobriquette from coconut shell and wood. There are two parameters tested in this study, namely the burning time and evaporation of 2000 ml of distilled water and the electric power generated. Based on research that has been done it can be concluded that the type of fuel influences the amount of power produced. From the type of fuel obtained that the greater the calorific value of a fuel, the electric power produced will be greater as well. small heating value of around 3000 cal / g, the electric power produced is getting smaller, that is equal to 0.0021 watts.

Abstract

This research aims to design and produce the model design of the dryer rack type fish using solar collectors with the addition of a blower 1 unit’s maximum temperature 49˚ C, dimension 216666  with a capacity of 3 kg. The result  of test 1, test 2, and 3 for 3 day test has been obtained an efficiency of 32,16 % greater than the manual drying efficiency of 5,4%. While in testing the quality  of dried anchovies dried using solar collectors based on quality standards of dried anchovoies (SNI 01- 2708-1992) is not accordance with the prescribed standards in terms of microbiological bacteria mold furthermore, for testing chemically moisture content, ash content, and ash content insoluble in acid  is still in accordance with (SNI 01- 2708-1992). Keywords: Anchovies, Efficiency, Plan, Shelf type, Solar collectors

Abstract

This research aims to design and compare the results to the biogas reactor with a stirrer with a biogas reactor without a stirrer. The research has successfully designed a biogas reactor with a stirrer with a stirrer using a dynamo as a player with a capacity of 11 kg. From the results of tests performed 3 times a day for 9 days, had the highest pH value data obtained on day 5 is 7.5 to biogas reactor with a stirrer and a biogas reactor without a stirrer. For the measurement of temperature changes irregularly due to unfavorable weather conditions remain. For the production of biogas in the biogas reactor with a stirrer, began to be seen on day 5 with a value of 76.3 cmHg whereas the increase in biogas reactors without biogas agitator begins to form on day 7 with a 76.5 rise in value. This tool is used for testing samples of cow dung as a sample of the most nice and easy to obtain. Based on the results of research conducted, it can prove that the biogas reactor stirrer dngan able to produce biogas more quickly than the biogas reactor without a stirrer this was due to the substrate in the fermentation container tercempur homogeneously so that the bacteria is able to reproduce a whole.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of NaCl concentration of sea water on the value of voltage and electric current, the amount of power produced from seawater with various concentration and duration of sea water can be utilized as a source of electrical energy. Plate copper (Cu) and plate zinc (Zn) as the electrode and the concentration of NaCl sea water used were obtained from three point locations is Tanjuang Bayam coast, Barombong coast and Je’ne’berang river estuary. The results was show that the concentration of NaCl seawater affect the amount of voltage and current value of the electricity generated is greater concentration of NaCl seawater used, the greater the voltage and electrical current was generat. For the highest concentration was obtained at the point of Cape Shaded locations with large concentrations of 3,4% and a maximum power generated 0,21072 watts while the lowest concentration was obtained at the point of estuaries Jeneberang locations with large concentrations of 3,2% and a maximum power generated 0, 20 331 watts. Effective time used for the utilization of sea water which is the average for ten days to turn on the LED (Light Emithing Dioda).
