Abstract

This study aims to observe the diversity of species and forage dominance while analyzing the carrying capacity based on the area of forage produced in the area of oil palm plantations. The research sample was carried out by way of tapping which was carried out at 3 different locations namely Watubangga District, Tanggetada District and Polinggona District which were the basis for the development of oil palm plantations. The results showed that there were 24 forage species divided into 9 families, namely Graminae, Cyperaceae, Polypodiceae, Rubiaceae, Verbenaceae, Aspleniaceae, Asteraceae, Mimosaceae, and Leguminaceae. As for types of forage that can be used as animal feed for 3 families, namely Graminae, Cyperaceae, and Leguminacea. The results of the carrying capacity analysis show that oil palm plantations can only accommodate as many as 59.30 cattle of Bali cattle (ST).Keywords: Forage Type, Carrying Capacity, Palm Oil, Bali Cattle

Abstract

This research aims to know the effect of vegetable silage ration feeding trash and leaves (Gliricidia sepium) gliricidia against the value of the dry ingredients and digestibility of organic livestock goat nuts. This study used a Randomized Design Group with 3 treatments and 3 replicates (blocks/groups) each of Deuteronomy includes 3 goats nuts. R1 is the treatment of gliricidia ad libitum leaves, vegetable waste and silage R1 leaves gliricidia (30%: 70%) and vegetable waste and silage R2 leaves gliricidia (70%: 30%). The observed variables are the values of the digestibility of dry ingredients and the digestibility of organic matter. The results showed that the treatment of vegetable waste silage given does not affect real (P0,05 >) against the consumption of dry ingredients of vegetable leaf litter silage ration gliricidia as a whole. The results showed equivalent value the digestibility of the ration dry ingredients of highest to lowest (%) respectively is R2 (80.7%), R1 (75,3%), and the Ro(71.3). While the addition of vegetable waste in silage ration leaves gliricidia does not affect real (P0,05>) against the value of the digestibility of organic matter. It can be concluded that the provision of rations of vegetable trash and leaves silage gliricidia (Gliricidia sepium) do not affect the real value of the dry ingredients and digestibility of organic livestock goat nuts.

Abstract

Bacterial contamination in chicken meat is an indicator in determining the quality of food ingredients. Contaminant bacteria cause damage to meat and cause foodborne disease due to their metabolite products. Staphylococcus aureus is a bacterium that causes food poisoning due to its toxin products. Meat contamination by Staphylococcus aureus occurs through the food itself or through the environment where it is processed. This study aims to isolate and identify the presence of Staphylococcus aureus in chicken meat and the production environment. The results of this study indicate that Staphylococcus aureus can be isolated from chicken meat (40%), the floor of the holding cage (26.67%), the place for bleeding (62.22%), the hair removal machine (64.44%) and the table. processing (80%) as a representation of environmental quality assessment indicators. These results illustrate that it is necessary to improve chicken slaughterhouses in traditional markets to increase and guarantee the quality of chicken meat.

Abstract

Gerbage chicory is a by-product or the result of weeding most vegetable parts and is easily found in traditional markets but cannot be consumed by humans anymore. This study aimed to analyze the effect of flour of chicory by-products on the percentage of giblet (gizzard, liver, and heart) of broiler chickens. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 5 replications. In each treatment replication, there were 5 broiler chickens. The treatments used were: P0 = ration without flour of chicory by-products, P1 = ration with 5% flour of chicory by-products, P2 = ration with 10% flour of chicory by-products, and P3 = ration with 15% flour of chicory by-products. The results showed that the average weight of the gizzard, liver, and heart was 2.54-3.11%, 2.86-3.41%, and 0.64-0.71%, respectively. The provision of flour of chicory by-products did not significantly affect the percentage of heart. However, it had a significant effect (P<0.05) on the percentage of liver and gizzard. The percentage of broiler liver increased with the treatment level, and the percentage of gizzard increased at the level of treatment of 5% and 10% flour of chicory by-products. It can be concluded that the addition of flour from chicory by-products to broilers is still safe and does not interfere with the performance of giblets up to a level of 15%

Abstract

Beef cattle in Indonesia in recent years have continued to decline, which is caused by various factors including slaughter of productive livestock and livestock diseases to feed problems. This research will specifically examine the source of animal feed from food crops in Konawe Regency as an alternative to tackling the fodder shortage originating from forage. This study uses secondary data from the Konawe Regency Statistics Agency 2022 by collecting data from harvested areas of food crops and the population of ruminants such as beef cattle and goats. The data obtained were then processed to facilitate the interpretation of the data and analyzed descriptively using the analysis of the carrying capacity of livestock. The results of the study found that the harvested area of 52.990 hectares of food crops with dry matter production of 100,631.650 kg was able to provide a source of feed for livestock as much as 30,633.68 ST beef cattle and 42,968.25 ST goats.

Abstract

The need for beef in society continues to increase in line with national economic growth, increasing awareness of the importance of animal protein intake, population growth, and increasing purchasing power. Therefore, careful recording of information such as births, deaths, slaughter, production, sales, purchases, and imports of Bali cattle is crucial. This information is an important basis for evaluating and then increasing the productivity of Bali cattle. This research examines the natural increase in the Bali cattle population in Kabawo District, Muna Regency. This research was conducted from September to November 2022 in Kabawo District, Muna Regency. The variables observed in this research are the number of livestock population, birth rate percentage, death rate percentage, and natural increase value, and the data analysis used is descriptive analysis. The results of this research concluded that the birth rate of Bali cattle in the Kabawo District was 40.58%. In comparison, the death rate was 2.03%, and the percentage of natural increase was 38.55%, still better than in several other regions in Indonesia.
