Abstract

Abstract: Coaching of teachers is one form of business to enhance the professional competence of teachers in achieving quality learning period on SMP Negeri 2 Sigli. This study aims to determine teacher training in: (1) the process of preparing the learning program are: curriculum, syllabus, lesson plans, annual program, the semester program, and details of the effective week. (2) fostering the implementation of learning, namely: the initial activity to open the lesson, explaining the materials, instructional media, learning methods, learning resources, and KKM. (3) fostering enhancement of professional competence of teachers are: supervision, refresher courses, seminars, and MGMP. The method used in this research is descriptive method with qualitative approach, this research sites in SMP Negeri 2 Sigli. Data collection techniques in the study carried out directly by the researcher through interviews, observation, and study documentation. The subject of this research is the principal, vice principal areas of the curriculum, and teacher SMP Negeri 2 Sigli. The results obtained are: (1) principals in the process of preparing teachers to foster learning programs such as the RPP, the annual program, the semester program, and details of the effective week. (2) fostering the principal teachers in the implementation of the learning done by describing the materials, instructional media, learning methods, learning resources. (3) school head teachers to foster improvement of professional competence by way of supervision, Panataran, seminars and enable MGMP as well as providing facilities and infrastructure.Key words: development of professional competence ofteachers

Abstract

Teachers play an important role to improve education quality through increasing their student’s motivation. The purpose of this study was to investigate the leadership style, factors, and obstacles of the transactional and transformational leadership style of the teacher in improving students’ learning motivation at SMA no. 1 of Seunagan, Nagan Raya Regency. This study used descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects in this study were a principal and teachers. The results of the study showed that (1) Transactional and transformational leadership style of teacher was carried out as full range leadership model in teaching learning process; (2) Factors influencing teacher as transactional and transformational leadership were character, experience, commitment and his/her competency; (3) The obstacle faced by the teachers in implementing transactional and transformational leadership was the lack of parents support toward policies taken by the teacher in determining rewards or sanction on the students.Keywords: teacher, transactional and transformational leadership, student’s learning motivation

Abstract

Abstract: Supervise instruction represent one of activity able to improve teacher performance. This research aim to for the mendeskripsikan of process compilation program, program execution and factors influencing execution supervise instruction by headmaster at SMPN 12 Banda Acheh. This Research use approach qualitative. Data collecting observation, documentation and interview. Source of data headmaster, curriculum area headmaster proxy, student and teacher. Result of research indicate that (1) Compilation program supervise instruction every early school year, in the form of activity class observation, individual meeting, staff meeting, senior tuition, workshop, permit and training learn. (2) Execution supervision; activity Observation class by headmaster visit class to see directly ability teacher teach. Individual meeting at the time of there teacher discipline collision, good intern conflict teacher with sejawat or teacher with student. Activity Workshop scheduled and packed into Cost Estimate Plan School. Activity Training usually learn only as participant, where headmaster send delegation learn to follow various activity training, hereinafter the teacher obliged to socializing in the form of activity staff meeting. Headmaster also always give recommendation to continue education to teacher according to regulation going into effect, (3) Factors influencing execution supervise instruction by headmaster in improving performance learn SMP Country 12 Banda Acheh, that is: fund supporting activity supervise not yet is adequate, (b) support On duty Education to activity supervise not yet is optimal, (c) essence supervise not yet been comprehended by all teacher so that activity supervise kadangkala interpreted as effort look for weakness teacher, (d) teachers owning old year of service or almost pension not too care to make-up of its profession development and performance.Keywords :Abstrak: Supervisi pengajaran merupakan salah satu kegiatan yang dapat meningkatkan kinerja guru. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses penyusunan program, pelaksanaan program dan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pelaksanaan supervisi pengajaran yang dilakukan oleh kepala sekolah pada SMPN 12 Banda Aceh. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Sumber data adalah kepala sekolah, wakil kepala sekolah bidang kurikulum, guru dan siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) Penyusunan program supervisi pengajaran dilakukan setiap awal tahun ajaran, dalam bentuk kegiatan observasi kelas, pertemuan individu, rapat staf, bimbingan senior, workshop, pelatihan dan izin belajar. (2) Pelaksanaan supervisi; Kegiatan observasi kelas dilakukan dengan cara kepala sekolah mendatangi kelas untuk melihat secara langsung kemampuan guru mengajar. Pertemuan individu dilakukan pada saat ada guru yang melakukan pelanggaran disiplin, konflik intern baik antara guru dengan sejawat atau antara guru dengan siswa. Kegiatan workshop dijadwalkan dan dimasukkan dalam Rencana Anggaran Belanja Sekolah. Kegiatan pelatihan biasanya guru hanya sebagai partisipan, dimana kepala sekolah mengirim perwakilan guru untuk mengikuti berbagai kegiatan pelatihan, selanjutnya guru tersebut diwajibkan untuk mensosialisasikannya dalam bentuk kegiatan rapat staf. Kepala sekolah juga selalu memberikan rekomendasi untuk melanjutkan pendidikan bagi guru sesuai peraturan yang berlaku, (3) Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pelaksanaan supervisi pengajaran oleh kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan kinerja guru di SMP Negeri 12 Banda Aceh, yaitu; (a) penyediaan dana yang mendukung kegiatan supervisi belum memadai, (b) dukungan Dinas Pendidikan terhadap kegiatan supervisi belum optimal, (c) hakekat supervisi belum dipahami oleh semua guru sehingga kegiatan supervisi kadangkala diartikan sebagai upaya mencari kelemahan guru, (d) guru-guru yang memiliki masa kerja lama atau hampir pensiun tidak terlalu peduli terhadap peningkatan kinerja dan pengembangan profesinya.

Abstract

Abstract: The strategic role of the school principal can be done by improving the quality of Human Resources (SDM) in accordance with the needs of schools and education specifically, by making adjustments to education and schools are able to thrive and maju. The purpose of this study was to determine the principal strategy in improving teacher performance, with include: (1) Discipline;     (2) Competence; and (3) Responsibility of teachers. Through a qualitative approach with descriptive methods, techniques of data collection is done through interviews, observation, and documentation. Subjects were principals, teachers and supervisors at SMP Negeri 2 Sigli Kabupatem Pidie. Research results found: (1) The principal strategy in addressing the problem of teachers who lack the discipline that is by calling the teacher personally to take advice, so it does not negatively impact other teachers, and invited together to improve the discipline that can be exemplified by the students ; (2) The principal strategy in addressing the problem of teachers who lack competence is by calling the teachers concerned to be fostered, guidance and training to use innovative media so that learners have a high motivation in participating in the classroom; and (3) The principal strategy in addressing the teacher's responsibility is by way of training for teachers who have not been regular in menjabar lesson plans and syllabi, even principals have recourse to the supervisor or the relevant office to socialize teachers in improving the administration of the teacher. It is expected that supervisors in order to direct and supervise principals in improving teacher performance on discipline, competence, and responsibility of teachers to effectively and efficiency so that performance can be improved.Keywords: Strategy Principal and Teacher Performance.Abstrak: Peran strategis kepala sekolah dapat dilakukan melalui peningkatan kualitas Sumber Daya Manusia (SDM) sesuai dengan kebutuhan sekolah dan dunia pendidikan secara spesifik, dengan melakukan penyesuaian agar pendidikan dan sekolah mampu untuk berkembang dan maju.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui strategi kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan kinerja guru, dengan meliputi: disiplin; kompetensi; dan tanggung jawab guru. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif, teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian adalah kepala sekolah, guru dan pengawas pada SMP Negeri 2 Sigli Kabupaten Pidie. Hasil penelitiannya ditemukan: (1) Strategi kepala sekolah dalam mengatasi masalah guru yang kurang disiplin yaitu dengan cara memanggil guru yang bersangkutan secara personal untuk dinasehati, sehingga tidak berdampak negatif terhadap guru lain, dan diajak bersama-sama untuk meningkatkan disiplin supaya dapat dicontohi oleh siswa; (2) Strategi kepala sekolah dalam mengatasi masalah guru yang kurang kompetensi yaitu dengan memanggil guru yang bersangkutan untuk dibina, pengarahan dan pelatihan agar mempergunakan media yang inovatif sehingga peserta didik memiliki motivasi tinggi dalam mengikuti pembelajaran di kelas; dan (3) Strategi kepala sekolah dalam mengatasi masalah tanggung jawab guru yaitu dengan cara mengadakan pelatihan bagi guru yang belum teratur dalam menjabar RPP dan silabus, bahkan kepala sekolah meminta bantuan kepada pengawas atau dinas terkait untuk mensosialisasikan guru dalam peningkatan administrasi guru. Diharapkan kepada pengawas agar dapat mengarahkan dan mengawasi kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan kinerja guru tentang disiplin, kompetensi, dan tanggung jawab guru secara efektif dan efesiensi sehingga kinerjanya dapat ditingkatkan.Kata kunci: Strategi Kepala Sekolah dan Kinerja Guru.

Abstract

The results showedthat:(1) The process of makingthe programis donethrough aneeds assessmentapproach, the achievement ofobjectives, prioritiesandpolicies, programformulationandimplementation ofoperational activities, due diligenceprogram; (2) Implementation ofthe programis donethrough:(a) socializationprograms are implementedby introducinga numberof activitiesinvolving allthe Head of Education, Youth, andSportsDistrict/City, (b) the resources involvedis doneby placinga numberof individualswho are competentandresponsibleforrealize the visionandmission of the organization, (c) SWOTanalysisis doneby analyzingthe functiontoachieve theobjectivesof internaland external; and(3) Evaluation ofthe programcarried outby utilizingthe resourcesavailablein theschooleducationto the optimumand targeted, while thefollow-upprogramcarried outbyhousekeepingpersonnelnumberof educatorsandeducation personnelin the organizational structureof the schoolthatwillhave an impact onimproving the quality ofteaching staff.Keywords:WorkPlanning, Education, andQuality of Education.Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penyusunan program kerja, implementasi, evaluasi, dan tindak lanjut program peningkatan mutu pendidikan di Aceh. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif.Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Prosedur analisis data adalah reduksi data, display data, dan verifikasi.Sedangkan subjek penelitian adalahkepala dinas, kepala bidang, kepala seksi, kepala sub bagian, sekretaris, dan karyawan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Proses pembuatan program dilakukan melalui pendekatan need assessment, pencapaian tujuan, prioritas dan kebijakan, rumusan program dan pelaksanaan kegiatan operasional, uji kelayakan program; (2) Implementasi program dilakukan melalui: (a) sosialisasi program dilaksanakan dengan memperkenalkan sejumlah kegiatan dengan melibatkan seluruh Kepala Dinas Pendidikan, Pemuda, dan Olahraga Kabupaten/Kota, (b) sumber daya yang terlibat dilakukan dengan menempatkan sejumlah individu yang berkompeten dan bertanggungjawab untuk mewujudkan visi dan misi organisasi, (c) analisis SWOT dilakukan dengan menganalisis fungsi untuk mencapai sasaran internal dan eksternal; dan (3) Evaluasi program dilakukan dengan mendayagunakan sumber daya pendidikan yang tersedia di sekolah dengan optimal dan tepat sasaran, sedangkan tindak lanjut program dilakukan dengan pembenahan sejumlah personil tenaga pendidik dan tenaga kependidikan dalam struktur organisasi sekolah yang akan berdampak pada peningkatan mutu tenaga pendidik.Kata kunci:Perencanaan Kerja, Pendidikan, dan Mutu Pendidikan
