SMA Negeri 10 Semarang is a school in Semarang which applies Budidaya Lele (BDL) subject. This subject is in accordance with the learning reference in the 2013 Curriculum. One of the goals to be achieved in the 2013 Curriculum is improving students’ critical thinking abilities. However, the facts show that students’ critical thinking abilities in SMA Negeri 10 Semarang are still low. One factor causing the low level of critical thinking abilities is conventional learning model implementation and teacher-centered. One of the learning models that can help improve students’ critical thinking abilities is Guided Discovery Learning (GDL). This study aims to investigate the effect of GDL model on students’ critical thinking abilities of grade 11 science in BDL subject. The sampling technique was purposive sampling. The research object was students in 11 science 4 class as the experimental class applying GDL model and students in 11 science 3 class as the control class applying conventional learning model. The aspects of critical thinking abilities measured were ability to provide simple explanation, ability to develop basic skills by using the indicators of considering trusted sources, ability to draw conclusion, ability to provide further explanation, and ability to manage strategies and tactics. The data was collected through tests and questionnaires. The data of test results was analyzed by using T test using SPSS and N-Gain test in Microsoft Excel 2010, while the questionnaire data was descriptively analyzed. The data analysis result of T test shows a mean difference in the experiment class and control class indicated by sig. value (2-tailed) as much as 0.000. The result of N-gain test, the experimental class has 0.43 value with medium criteria and the control class has 0.24 value with low criteria. The results of the two tests show that GDL model implementation affects students’ critical thinking abilities in the experimental class in BDL lesson. Students in the experimental class applying GDL model have better critical thinking abilities compared to students in the control class which does not apply GDL model.

The aim to describe the implementation of biology learning and analyze the positive aspects of the curriculum in Gandhi Memorial Intercontinental School (GMIS) Semarang .The evaluation of this CIPP model used descriptive-qualitative approach. The variables were the Cambridge Curriculum with context, input, process, and product aspects. The data collection techniques used documentation, observation, and interviews. The data analysis method used triangulation. The research results showed that in context, the profile of GMIS Semarang has a background as an international school in accordance with government regulations. The input consists of students, curriculum, teachers, facilities and infrastructure, and teaching materials that fulfill the standards. The process consists of the implementation of biology learning had a very good criteria which is 90% in the classroom and 92% practicum, the media was used as a support for learning, laboratories and library was used well. The assignments and teacher administration had been given well. The product in the form of student learning outcomes were good but it needed to be improved and the achievements that had been achieved by students at national and international levels were good. And there were positive aspects that can be applied to the national schools in improving the education quality.

The achievement of student learning outcomes is influenced by various factors, such as learning resources and ways of learning. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between learning resources and learning outcomes; know the relationship between how to learn and the learning outcomes; and know the relationship between learning resources and ways of learning on the learning outcomes. The sample in this study was 108 students. The independent variables in this study are learning resources (X1) and ways of learning (X2). The dependent variable in this study is learning outcomes (Y). The data collection method used a questionnaire and documentation. Data analysis in this study used descriptive percentages, multiple linear regression, t test and F test. The results showed that the analysis of multiple linear regression obtained equation: Y = 52.078 + 0.224X1 + 0.203X2. Partially, the influence of learning resources on learning outcomes was 43.3%, while the influence of learning methods was 42.6%. Simultaneously, learning resources and ways of learning influenced the learning outcomes by 47.3%, with SE (X1) = 24.6%, and SE (X2) = 22.7%. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that learning resources and ways of learning significantly influenced learning outcomes, both partially and simultaneously. In this study, learning resources had a greater influence on learning outcomes compared to the of way of learning on learning outcomes. Thus, schools need to optimize all learning resources both in their existence and utilization, and students need to improve their way of learning in order to get optimal learning outcomes.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh pendekatan Problem-based Learning (PBL) dalam pembelajaran terhadap kemampuan analisis siswa SMA 1 Ambarawa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Quasi Experimental Design dengan pola Pre and Post-test Design yang diterapkan pada kelas X-7 sebagai kelompok kontrol dan X-8 sebagai kelompok eksperimen, pada materi pencemaran lingkungan. Teknik Pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling. Data tingkat keterlaksanaan PBL diperoleh melalui lembar observasi.  Data jumlah solusi siswa dikumpulkan dengan angket dan lembar observasi. Data kemampuan analisis siswa dikumpulkan dengan tes. Data dianalisis secara kuantitatif. Data dianalisis dengan uji t dan uji regresi linier sederhana. Hasil observasi menunjukkan tingkat keterlaksanaan PBL tergolong tinggi (81,1%). Hasil uji t menunjukkan perbedaan yang nyata dari kedua kelompok (thitung>ttabel). Uji regresi linier sederhana mengindikasikan bahwa PBL berpengaruh nyata pada kemampuan analisis siswa (nilai sig.<0,05, r kuadrat 0,281). Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah penerapan pendekatan PBL berpengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan analisis siswa.  This research aimed to determine the effect of the implementation of Problem-based Learning (PBL) approaches of teaching on student’s analysis skills at SMA 1 Ambarawa. This study was a Quasi Experimental Design with Pre and Post-test Design which was applied on X-7 as a control group and X-8 as a experimental group. The subject studied was Environmental Pollution. Sample was collected with a purposive sampling technique. Data of the implementation of PBL approaches were collected by observation sheet. Questionaire and observation sheet were used to collect student’s solutions skills. Test was used to collect data of student’s analysis skills scores. Data were analyzed by using quantitative methods. Data were analyzed by t-test and simple linear regression test. The findings showed that level of implementation of PBL approaches were high (81.1%). T-test result showed that there was a significant difference between both groups (tcount>ttable). Simple linear regression test indicated that PBL brought a significant effect on students’s analysis s kills (probability sig.<0.05, r square 0.281). The conclusion of this research was that implementation of PBL approaches had a positive effect on student’s analysis skills

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe make-a-match dilengkapi dengan evidence card terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar siswa SMA Negeri 1 Ambarawa pada pembelajaran sistem gerak manusia. Penelitian Quasi Experiment dengan menggunakan desain Nonequivalent Control Group Design telah dilaksanakan pada kelas XI IPA-3 dan XI IPA-4. Data berupa hasil belajar yang dianalisis secara kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ketuntasan belajar kognitif siswa kelas eksperimen (XI IPA-4) adalah 89,47% mencapai nilai KKM, sedangkan ketuntasan belajar pada siswa kelas kontrol (XI IPA-3) adalah 71,05%. Sebanyak 95% siswa hasil belajar aspek afektifnya tuntas dan masuk dalam kategori baik, dan sebanyak 100% siswa masuk kategori baik dalam pencapaian hasil belajar aspek psikomotorik. Ketuntasan hasil belajar kelas eksperimen meningkat dikarenakan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan permainan menciptakan suasana menyenangkan bagi siswa. Pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model cooperative learning type make-a-match dilengkapi dengan evidence card pada materi sistem gerak dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. This research aims to knowing the influence of using the cooperative learning type make-a-match with evidence card to increase the student study result at SMA Negeri 1 Ambarawa. Quasi Experiment research with using Nonequivalent Control Group Design has been implemented in class XI IPA-3 and XI IPA-4. The main data is the student learning outcomes which analyzed quantitatively. The results showed that completeness cognitive learning of student’s class experiment (XI IPA 4) is 89,47%, while in student’s control class (XI IPA 3) is 71,05%, both of them reached the KKM. In affective learning outcomes, 95% students were in good category, while for the psychomotor learning outcomes showed that 100% students were in good category too. The completeness of student’s class experiment was increase because using games in the learning can create a fun atmosphere for students so the learning becomes interesting. Cooperative learning type make-a-match with evidence card in movement system can increase the student’s learning outcomes.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning berbantuan TV-News terhadap kemampuan analisis siswa menggunakan quasi experiment design dengan pola Pretest-Posttest one group design. Populasi adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP N 24 Semarang, sedangkan sampelnya adalah sebagian dari kelas VIII yaitu kelas VIII C menggunakan teknik convenience sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan rata-rata nilai kemampuan analisis siswa sebelum dan sesudah pembelajaran. Dari hasil analisis uji t diperoleh bahwa t hitung > t tabel yaitu 2.07 > 2.03 maka ada perbedaan signifikan antara kemampuan analisis siswa sebelum dan sesudah pembelajaran. Selain itu kemampuan analisis siswa berada pada kriteria baik dan cukup, dengan persentase baik 56.25 dan cukup 43.75. Hal ini didukung dengan aktivitas siswa dan tanggapan guru dan siswa yang memberikan respon positif terhadap pembelajaran. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan model Problem Based Learning berbantuan TV-News berpengaruh dalam meningkatkan kemampuan analisis siswa pada materi bahan kimia kehidupan. The study aims to understand the influence of learning model the problem based learning through tv-news of the ability of analysis students to the matter chemicals life. The study is quasi experiment design. The design of the study uses pretest-posttest one group design. The population in this study is all of the eighth grade students of Junior High School in 24 Semarang, while the sample is the students of class VIII C. The samples were collected by convenience sampling. The results of the study showed that there are differences average score pretest and posttest. The results of pretest and posttest obtained later in analysis by t-test. The results of pretest and posttest acquired analysis by t-test. t-test results obtained that t count> ttable.. t count is 2.07, whereas for the t table is 2.03. So any significant difference between pretest and posttest grades. In addition analytical capability students are to a criterion good and quite , with the good of 56.25 and quite of 43.75. This is supported with the activity students and the response of teachers and students who provide a positive response to the problem of learning model based learning through tv-news. Based on the results of the study concluded that learning a problem with a model based learning through tv-news impact on analytical capability students on any material chemicals life .

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh penerapan strategi bioedutainment model Teams Games Tournament (TGT) pada pembelajaran materi alat indera manusia terhadap keaktifan dan hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian quasi experiment. Rancangan penelitian ini menggunakan pola non randomized pretest-posttest control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI MIPA SMA N 11 Semarang, dan sampelnya adalah kelas XI MIPA 6 sebagai kelas eksperimen yang menerapkan strategi bioedutainment model TGT, dan kelas XI MIPA 7 sebagai kelas kontrol yang menerapkan cermah dan diskusi. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik convenience sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar dan tingkat keaktifan antara kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen. Hasil posttest yang diperoleh kemudian di analisis dengan uji t. Hasil analisis uji t diperoleh harga t hitung > harga t tabel yaitu 4,58 > 1,99. Dapat dinyatakan bahwa ada perbedaan signifikan antara hasil belajar siswa kelas kontrol dan eksperimen. Selain itu keaktifan siswa kelas ekperimen lebih baik daripada kelas control. Sejumlah 36,84% siswa kelas eksperimen sangat aktif dan 63,16% siswa aktif mempelajari materi alat indera manusia. Hal ini didukung dengan tanggapan guru dan siswa terhadap penerapan strategi bioedutainment model TGT yang memberikan respon positif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa penerapan strategi bioedutainment model TGT pada pembelajaran alat indera manusia berpengaruh terhadap keaktifan dan hasil belajar siswa. SMAN 13 Semarang is one of the schools in Semarang that develops waste management as an extracurricular activities. However, students at SMA N 13 Semarang are still seen littering, using plastic as food wrappers, and have not sorted out garbage. Students are expected to have high awareness to contribute to reducing environmental damage by participating in waste management. This study aims to examine the extracurricular potential of waste management in developing the environmental caring character of the students. This research uses qualitative approach with case study research type. The number of primary informants is 15 students who are active in extracurricular waste management. The results showed that students have basic knowledge about the environment through the subject of PLH but have not been able to develop it. Curiosity has been formed because students have an interest in watching television shows and reading environmental related articles, but in terms of providing information media is still limited through teachers. Students throw garbage at the place provided, but to sorting garbage still less. Based on the results of research and discussion can be concluded that the characters that have been formed is used to maintain the cleanliness of the environment, used to dispose of waste in place, the school provides cleaning equipment, and responsible for maintaining environmental cleanliness. Character that has been formed and still requires teacher assistance is the character to sort out garbage, provide communication media and explore knowledge about the environment.

This research aims to study the development of students’ analytical thinking skill during animal tissue learning. The other aim is to identify the obstacles experienced by the teacher in developing the students’ analytical thinking skill during learning process. The study used case study design. The study was held on odd semester of academic year 2017/2018. The samples were XI IPA5, XI IPA6, dan XI IPA7. The datas in this research are the data of learning implementation, students’ analytical thinking skill, and the teacher’s obstacles during the learning. The data of learning implementation was obtained from observation sheets. The data of students’ analytical thinking skill was obtained from observation and test. The data of challenge which was experienced by teacher and students’ response were obtained from teacher and students’ questionnaire. The data of learning implementation is analyzed by measuring the percentage of learning process implementation. Based on that percentage, the implementation of learning held by teacher can be categorized into very well, well, and dissatisfactory. The data of analytical thinking skill was analyzed by calculate the score of analytical thinking skill test. Based on that score, students were grouped into 3 categories; high, medium, and low. The data of teacher and student responses were analyzed by calculating the score percentage of teacher and students questionaires. The result of study showed that students’ analytical thinking skill developed well through lecture method (67%), and it developed very well through discussion method (89%). Most of the students (68%) had medium analytical thinking. The teacher challenged the development of indicator of analytical thinking skill in evaluating opinion, and collecting and assessing information. According to the students, their analytical thinking skill developed well during the learning.
