Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has had an impact on changes in community economic activity, resulting in an impetus for increasing poverty rates (BPS, 2020). This happens because of the community's space for movement so that it has an impact on the community's ability to obtain safe and sufficient food. Based on the 2020 Food Security Index, most districts in West Java are in a very resilient status. The status of food security at the provincial or city/district scale does not always guarantee that every individual is food secure because each region has different characteristics. Therefore, it is necessary to study the model of the influence of the proportion of poverty and the proportion of the population infected with Covid-19 on food security in Bandung Regency to the village level. This study aims to model the effect of the proportion of poverty and the proportion of the population infected with Covid-19 on the resilience of Bandung Regency using Geographically Weight Regression (GWR), which is a geographically weighted regression. Based on the analysis of the model of the effect of the proportion of the population infected with Covid-19 and poverty on food security in Bandung Regency, there are 280 different GWR models. In the GWR model the effect of the proportion of the population infected with Covid-19 on food security, there are 40 villages in red (high influence) and 15 villages in green (low influence). The village that has the highest influence on the proportion of the population infected with Covid-19 is Nengkelan Village with a coefficient of 21.02323822 and Laksana Village has the lowest effect with a coefficient of -18.760392. While the GWR model of the effect of poverty on food security is found in 9 villages in red color and 4 villages in green color. The village with the highest influence is Cipelah Village with a coefficient of 0.661185245 while the village with the lowest influence is Sukaresmi Village with a coefficient of -2.667401414.

Abstract

Lima Puluh Kota Regency has a strong economic foundation in the agricultural sector, with sugar palm (Arenga pinnata) as its primary commodity. Sugar palm trees are widely distributed across 10 sub-districts, but the concentration of sugar production is centered in Lareh Sago Halaban, Mungka, Gunuang Omeh, Bukik Barisan, and Suliki sub-districts. This study aims to analyze the differences in sugar palm productivity among these five sub-districts. Data on productive land area and palm sap production from 2019 to 2023 were obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Lima Puluh Kota Regency as secondary data for this study. The hypothesis regarding a significant difference in productivity between sub-districts testes using a One-Way ANOVA analysis.. The results showed a significant difference in productivity between Mungka Sub-district and Gunuang Omeh Sub-district. However, no significant differences were found in other sub-districts. Nevertheless, the average production of palm sap varied among the five sub-districts.

Abstract

Farmer corporations are farmer economic institutions with legal entities in the form of cooperatives, as well as farmer-owned enterprises (BUMP) in the form of limited liability company (PT) or trading enterprises (UD), with most of the capital ownership owned by farmers so that they have a bargaining position over the products produced. The business model that the corporation wants to build includes the entire process of processing crops, from packaging to branding to marketing strategy, including connecting all of this with the banking system, technology innovators, and management that is able to manage everything well. Therefore, several stakeholders are needed, including the government, farmers, banking, universities, off-takers, insurance, agro-inputs, and technology. This study aims to see how the implementation of the Penta helix collaboration model increases the potential for cooperative competitiveness among corn farmers in Bandung Regency. This study used an in-depth interview method with informants, namely the management of the Sinar Corn Priangan Producers Cooperative, representatives of the Agricultural Extension Sector of the Bandung Regency Agricultural Service, and BNI Bank employees in the People's Business Credit (KUR) section. The results of this study indicate that all the pillars or parts of the Penta helix have been realized and implemented in the Bandung Regency Corn Farmers Corporation. The role of each pillar is in accordance with the opportunities and developments from time to time. The synergistic cooperation of all Penta helix elements involved in the development of the Bandung Regency Corn KORPORASI PETANI has resulted in the awarding of several awards for their achievements.

Abstract

The horticulture sector is one of the sectors that plays an important role in national economic development. Cikajang District, Garut Regency, is one of the centres of horticultural crop production in West Java due to its favourable geographical conditions. Capital is a common problem for farmers, especially farmers with a small farming scale. One of the reasons is the difficulty of farmers in accessing capital sources. Financial Technology comes as a solution for farmers to facilitate access to capital sources. This study aims to describe and analyse thedirect andindirecteffects of farmers' perceptions and social influence on farm performance through the adoption of financial technology as an intervening variable. The research was conducted in Cikajang District, Garut Regency with 72 farmers as respondents. The research method used was Structural Model Equation - Partial Least Square (SEM - PLS) with SmartPLS 4 software. The results showed that farmers' perceptions had no direct effect on improving farm performance, but had an indirect effect on farm performance through the adoption of financial technology. Social influence itself has both a direct and indirect effect on farm performance. The test also found that the adoption of financial technology has a significant effect on farm performance.

Abstract

Agriculture plays a crucial role in the economy of Bandung Regency, particularly in Ciparay and Rancaekek Districts. However, challenges such as land conversion, climate change, and market fluctuations affect agricultural productivity and sustainability. In response, the Bandung Regency Government implemented the Sibedas Farmer Card Program, aimed at improving farmers' welfare through input subsidies and access to agricultural insurance. This study examines the relationship between the Sibedas Farmer Card policy, livelihood capital, coping behavior, and livelihood resilience among rice farmers. A quantitative approach using SEM-PLS was applied, involving 72 rice farmers as respondents. The findings indicate that the Sibedas Farmer Card policy does not significantly influence livelihood capital (β = -0.168, P = 0.135). However, livelihood capital has a significant effect on coping behavior (β = 0.713, P = 0.000) and livelihood resilience (β = 0.346, P = 0.012). Additionally, coping behavior significantly impacts livelihood resilience (β = 0.536, P = 0.000). These results suggest that strengthening livelihood capital enhances farmers' adaptability and resilience. While the program has been implemented, its effectiveness in improving farmers' livelihood capital remains limited. To optimize its impact, policymakers should expand farmers' access to training, technology, and financial support. Therefore, well-directed agricultural policies are essential to enhancing the sustainability of the agricultural sector in Bandung Regency.
