Abstract

Dengue fever is a type of infectious diseases, which often lead to extraordinary events in Indonesia. Kendal is one area which every year has increased the spread of Dengue quite rapidly. The increase in the spread of Dengue in Kendal is largely determined by the decisions taken by the relevant agencies, especially the Department of Health. Prediction incidence of Dengue Fever in Kendal, is still processed manually by the presentation is still limited in the form of tables and graphs, while the presentation in the form of a map has not been done. Rapid changes in land use from agricultural areas into non agricultural areas became one of the causes of the rapid changes in the data. One technology that can provide information on land use and settlement patterns are analyzed with remote sensing. Data from remote sensing, and then combined with several other parameters, such as population density (X1), height of the sea surface (X2),  Distance settlement with nearby river (X3) and Distance pemukiaman to the nearest health center (X4) with spatial analysis Geographic Information System (GIS) will be obtained quickly forecast the vulnerability of Dengue Fever. The result showed that the the vulnerability of Dengue fever based spatial analysis Geographic Information System (GIS) scoring method in Kendal in 2015 is divided into three (3) classes, ie areas with low vulnerability level (51297.96 ha / 51, 08%), areas with middle vulnerability level (45176.44 ha / 44, 38%), and areas with high vulnerability level (3947.534 ha / 3, 93 %).

Abstract

Sedimentation is a problem that often occurs in reservoirs in Indonesia. One reservoir that has the potential to be affected by sedimentation is the Kedungombo Reservoir. The water volume of the Kedungombo dam is estimated to shrink 40% of the planned water volume due to the sedimentation problem. The condition of the reservoir water needs to be monitored periodically to determine the development of sedimentation in the reservoir area. The large reservoir area of 6,000 ha requires considerable energy and cost if monitoring is done conventionally. Remote sensing technology with Landsat-8 satellite imagery can be used as an alternative technology that is more efficient in reservoir sedimentation monitoring. Reservoir sedimentation monitoring can be observed from the development of the value of total suspended solid (TSS).. The results of multitemporal TSS processing for the period 2014-2018 showed that the quality of the Kedongombo Reservoir TSS generally began to improve despite high sedimentation in some areas. The class of heavily polluted / sedimentated TSS decreased from 380, 97 Ha in 2014 to 353.61 Ha in 2014 and continued to improve to an area of 120.96 Ha in 2018. But at the estuary of Laban Sub-watershed and Ivory Sub-watershed TSS remained has a high concentration.

Abstract

Drought of agricultural land is one of the most frequent disasters in Indonesia. This disaster greatly affects food security. Kendal Regency is one of the areas in Indonesia that often experience drought of agricultural land. In the year 2015 in Kendal regency there are 1055 Ha paddy field was crop failure. The threat of drought on agricultural land can be minimized if the monitoring of drought potential in a region can be known. One way that can be used for spatial drought monitoring is to use applications from remote sensing based on a particular algorithm. In the research, Normalized Difference Drought Index (NDDI) algorithm is used to distribution and extent of agricultural drought in Kendal District by 2015 using Landsat 8 satellite imagery. NDDI is the ratio between Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) and Normalized Difference Water Index (NDWI).The results indicate agricultural drought using NDDI method in July 2015 with normal drought area 6980,362 ha, mild drought 13364,155 ha, moderate drought 682,847 ha and dry drought 281,81 ha. Validation results show the accuracy of the NDDI method is 82%.
