Abstract

The low learning outcomes of students in elementary schools are caused by the lack of optimal use of learning media. So there is a need to develop learning media that can attract students' interest in learning, especially in mathematics lessons with circle diagram material, such as the development of WordPress web-based learning media. The aims of this research are (1) to determine the validity of web-based mathematics learning media using WordPress on circle diagram material, (2) to determine the practicality of web-based mathematics learning media using WordPress on circle diagram material, (3) to determine the effectiveness of web-based mathematics learning media by using WordPress on circle diagram material. This research uses the R&D (Research & Development) method with five stages of the ADDIE model, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation. The subjects in this research were fourth grade students at SDN Dawuhanlor, Kec. Purwoasri, Kab. Kediri with 5 limited trial students and 16 wide trial students. The results of this research are (1) Media validity from media experts obtained a score of 93% with very valid criteria, and material experts obtained a score of 90% with very valid criteria. (2) The practicality of the media obtained a score of 77% with practical criteria from the teacher's response, while the student responses obtained a score of 92% with very practical criteria in limited trials, and obtained a score of 93% with very practical criteria in extensive trials. (3) The effectiveness of the media in the limited trial obtained a score of 56% from the pre-test results and obtained a score of 98% from the post-test results, while in the extensive trial it obtained a score of 41% from the pre-test results and obtained a score of 95% from the post-test results. Therefore, researchers hope that this research can be used as a reference for future research.

Abstract

The aim of this research and development is to determine the validity, practicality and effectiveness of class V hydrological cycle diorama media at SDN Karangtengah 3. This research method uses the R & D (Research and Development) method with the ADDIE model, which consists of 5 stages, including (1) Analysis, (2) Design (planning), (3) Development (development), (4) Implementation ( implementation), (5) Evaluation (evaluation). The results of this research show that. (1) The validation results obtained from material experts received a percentage of 86% and media experts received a percentage of 84%, so the results from material validation and hydrological cycle diorama media are included in the very valid criteria. (2) The results of the teacher response questionnaire received a percentage of 92% and the results of the student response questionnaire received a percentage of 100%, so these results can be concluded that the hydrological cycle diorama media is very practical. (3) The results of the evaluation or posttest questions in the limited trial got an average score of 81 with a classical completeness of 87.5% and in the extensive trial got an average score of 86 with a classical completeness of 100%, so it can be stated that the hydrological cycle diorama media very effective.   Keywords: diorama, hydrological cycle science,  learning media

Abstract

This development research is based on the results of observations and interviews that learning Indonesian reading and viewing still has several students whose interest in reading is still low. Based on the results of observations and interviews that became the basis of the research entitled the development of children's story comic media to improve reading and writing literacy skills in grade 4 elementary school students. The media developed were tested for validity, effectiveness, and practicality. This research is a type of development research or Research and Development using the ADDIE model. In this study were students and teachers of grade 4 SDN Ngoro 2. Data collection techniques in the research conducted using observation, interviews, questionnaires, and tests with quantitative and qualitative data analysis. The purpose of the study was to determine the quality of the learning media products developed based on aspects of validity, effectiveness, and practicality. The results of the comic development research are as follows: (1) comic media is declared valid with results of 87% from material validation and 78.75% from media validation, (2) comic media is declared very practical with results of 96% from teacher responses and 98.26% from student responses, (3) comic media is declared very effective after the evaluation test or posttest with the results of the completion of the limited trial showing an average of 88.6 and the extensive trial showing an average value of 87.6.   Keywords : comics, learning media, indonesian

Abstract

This research is motivated by finger painting activities. Finger painting is a painting technique that uses children's fingers to apply color to blank paper. The purpose is to see the development of children's creativity and train children's fine motor skills. The type of this research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The research subjects consisted of 33 students of class II-A at SDN 004 Samarinda Ulu. Data collection techniques included by observation, interviews, and documentation. The research instruments included observation sheets of learner and educator activities, interview sheets, and documentation. Data analysis techniques used include data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study include: (1) Finger painting technique planning is carried out for 2 days by making teaching modules and preparing tools and materials, (2) The implementation of the finger painting technique was carried out for 2 days in the classroom and students showed an increase in the creativity category and experienced development in the fine motor category, (3) Evaluation of the finger painting technique is seen from the results of students' drawings and changes in the media used, namely from HVS paper to watercolor paper.

Abstract

In science subjects, students have difficulty in remembering the material and have low group discussion skills. This material requires visual media such as images and animations so that concepts can be understood more concretely. Science learning should use technology-based media. This study aims to determine the need assessment, validity, effectiveness, and practicality of Bamboozle-based multimedia. The method used is research and development (R&D) with the ADDIE model which includes stages: Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research was conducted at SDN 2 Bangunmulyo Pakel District with 20 students as the subjects. Data collection techniques include need assessment, expert validation, pretest and posttest, and practicality questionnaire. The data analysis technique used the average percentage of needs questionnaires by students and teachers, the average percentage of questionnaires from material experts and media experts, the N-Gain test based on student pretest and posttest results, and the average percentage of student and teacher practicality questionnaires. The results showed that the need assessment showed a value of 88.6% with very need criteria, the validity test obtained an overall average value of 91.9% with very valid criteria, the effectiveness of obtaining an N-Gain value of 0.89 with a high category means very effective, and the practicality test results reached 88.6% with very practical criteria. Therefore, this media is recommended to be applied.

Abstract

This research is motivated by one of the difficulties faced by the fourth-grade students of SDN Manggis 2, which is the challenge of understanding the concept of length measurement units, such as conversion between kilometers, centimeters, meters, and millimeters, and difficulty in memorizing length units. This issue is caused by the use of monotonous and less interactive learning media. Based on observations from 20 students, the scores ranged from 30 to 75, and the results of a student needs survey indicated that 85% of the students expressed a strong need for learning media. Therefore, the researcher developed an innovative and engaging learning media to enhance students' understanding of length measurement units.This study aims to develop the "Smart Stairs" media as a learning aid for the material on length measurement units and to assess the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the media product. The research used the Research and Development (R&D) method, with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The research subjects were 20 fourth-grade students. Data were collected through observations, interviews, student needs response questionnaires, pretests, posttests, as well as validation from material and media experts.The results of the study showed that the "Smart Stairs" media had a validity rate of 82.22% from the material expert, categorized as very valid, and 82.5% from the media expert, also categorized as very valid. The practicality assessment by teachers via response questionnaires obtained a score of 46, with a percentage of 83.63%, categorized as very practical. The small group trial resulted in 75.2%, categorized as practical, and the large group trial resulted in 83.9%, categorized as very practical. The learning outcome improvement showed an average pretest score of 52.25%, which increased to 85.50%, with an average improvement of 63.63%. In conclusion, the "Smart Stairs" media is suitable for use as a learning tool, as it has been proven to be valid, practical, and effective in helping students understand length measurement units.

Abstract

This study was motivated by a problem identified by the researcher, namely that teachers rarely use instructional media and tend to rely on lecture and question-and-answer methods. Based on a student needs questionnaire, 83% of students reported difficulty in understanding the topic of energy transformation in science lessons. This is evidenced by the fact that 9 out of 15 fourth-grade students at SDN Mojokambang 2 scored below 75. Additionally, 60% of students stated that learning activities did not include any games. In response to these issues, this study aims to develop SMOBI (Smart Box for Energy Transformation), an instructional media that is valid, practical, and effective as a teaching aid for fourth-grade science lessons on energy transformation. This research uses the R&D method with the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The validity of the SMOBI media was assessed with a score of 85% from material experts and 83.3% from media experts, categorizing it as highly valid. Its practicality was evaluated through questionnaires: the teacher respondents gave a score of 87.5%, while student respondents in small-group testing gave a score of 94%, and in large-group testing, a score of 95%, classifying it as highly practical. The effectiveness of SMOBI was based on students' mastery in answering evaluation questions, with 12 out of 15 students achieving mastery, resulting in an effectiveness rate of 86.6%, which is considered highly effective. SMOBI can be used in the learning process to improve student learning outcomes, increase student engagement, and assist in understanding the material.
