Abstract

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the feasibility of the development of student’s multiple intelligence-oriented learning instrument on the cells concept in grade XI senior high school. Research and Development (R & D) method was conducted in this research. This research was developed four components in the cell concept learning instrument that included syllabus, lesson plan, student’s worksheet, and assessment instrument. From the four components were obtained an average score of 93.76% with a decent category. The time limited test was conducted in July-August 2016, at SMAN 4 Kota Serang and SMA Prisma Sanjaya Kota Serang. Based on students' responses as a user, it was obtained the value of 79.78% with a fair category. Based on the results of expert test and limited test scale, the learning instrument development of multiple intelligences learning-oriented can be applied for the learning process in the cell concept for grade XI in senior high school.

Abstract

The research has been done on Juli 2017 in the coastal region of Tunda Island. This study aims to determine the Biodiversity of Mollusca (Gastropoda and Bivalvia) As Bioindicator of Water Quality In Coastal Area of Tunda Island, Banten. Sampling consists of 2 observation stations, namely the mangrove coastal area (3 transects) and the seagrass coastal area (2 transects) determined by purposive sampling. The observation of each station is done by using the quadratic transect method with 100 m transect line distance, and in each transect line there are 5 observation plots measuring 1m2 x 1m2. The data analysis includes density, biodiversity, bio-indicators of water quality based on diversity index. Result of research on 5 transect found 45 type Mollusca which represent 2 class, that is Gastropoda class of 29 species Gastropoda joined in 14 Family. As for Bivalvia class found 16 species incorporated in 9 families. The total density of Mollusca is 541.2 ind / m2 which consists of 392.4 ind / m2 for Gastropoda class and 148.8 ind / m2 for Bivalvia class. Mollusca diversity was calculated using the diversity index of Shannon-Wienner (H '). The results of diversity index ranged from 3.1356 - 3.3314 with high category. Bioindicator of aquatic quality using diversity index indicates that the coastal area of Tunda Island belongs to a very mildly polluted category.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis case study purposes to investigate Sundanese high school student 11th grade argumentation skills about socio-scientific issue based on gender and family caring pattern. Specifically, this qualitative research explores the quality of Sundanese student’ claim-forming and evidence-supplying in an argumentation process. Research instrument were given to 44 year-11 students, argumentation worksheets were used to get student’ written argumentation skills (WAS) data; semi-structured interview were used to get student’ oral argumentation skills (OAS) data; questionnaire and interview were used to get family caring pattern and family gender awareness data; furthermore, field note were used as data triangulation tool. Student’ argumentation skills were determined by justification of argument based on four-scale rubric. Inductive analysis was used to examine the data. Most Sundanese student had capable to form an argument with a simple justification; student’ OAS better than WAS relatively; and other  result of this study shows that no argumentation skills significance difference between boys and girl. The findings suggest several factors influencing Sundanese student’ argumentation skills such as freedom of opinion-forming in family life, student’ role in family, the language ability to articulate ideas, and  cultural influences. Methodological issues arising from the study and implications for teaching and assessment are discussed.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research aimed to develop a digital student’s work sheets used Android based on mangrove forest of Tunda Island gastropod diversity for invertebrate sub concept and to assessed the student’s work sheets based on  material, media, and student response aspects. This research was a developments research (R&D) with 3-D (Define, Design, and Develop) design and supported by exploration of gastropod diversity in mangrove forest of Tunda Island at June 2017. The instruments in this research were interview and expert assessment sheets. The data from assesment sheets was analized from qualitative to be quantitative. The data from assessment sheets was used to improve the student’s worksheets contents and structures. The result of this research showed 20 species gastropods identified at mangrove forest of Tunda Island including 2 subclass, Pulmonata and Prosobranchia. The gastropod diversity index on Tunda Island was 1,2024, classified in the medium category. The result of exploration of gastropod diversity in Tunda Island also used as material content in student’s work sheets development. Based on experts assessment and student response, the average value of the student’s work sheet were 89% and 87,1% with category very good and feasible to use as a teaching learning materials for 10th grade of  senior high school. Keywords: Android, Gastropods, Student’s Work Sheets, Tunda Island

Abstract

Sensitivity to environmental concepts is closely related to naturalistic intelligence, as well as concern for finding solutions to environmental problems through problem-solving skills. This study aimed to determine the correlation between naturalistic intelligence and problem-solving ability through environmental photovoice project. Correlational research method was used in this study with purposive sampling technique. Population were 10th grade students of senior high school with specific science class as a sample. Naturalistic intelligence was measured by using naturalistic questionnaire. The problem-solving ability indicates in photovoice project and measured by using a photovoice assessment rubric developed based on problem-solving indicators. The results showed that the average of students’ naturalistic intelligence was 75.82 in score, it’s mean that students’ naturalistic intelligence belong to high criteria. The average of students’ problem-solving skills was 66.12 in score belong to high criteria as well.  The result of this research shows the value of correlational coefficient was 0.582. This means that there was strong positive relationship between naturalistic intelligence and the problem-solving skills through photovoice project on the environmental topic. These findings indicate that naturalistic intelligence are closely related to problem-solving skills. Finally, we discuss the relationship of naturalistic intelligence and problem-solving skills and provide suggestions for further work.
