Abstract

Research potential of juice, extract ethanol, ethyl acetate extracts with different doses of soursop fruit as down as the asamurat has been performed. The treatment given these supplies juice with doses of 930 mg, 1870 2810 mg and mg: 96% ethanol extract with a dose of 26.79 g/100 ml, 53.58 g/100 ml and 80.37 g/100 ml; and extract with ethyl acetate dose 2.58 g/100 ml, 5.16 g/100 ml and 7.74 g/100 ml. The making of extracts is done with methods of maceration of fruit juice, and squeeze the flesh of the fruit directly with Batiste. The results of qualitative testing all positive preparations contain a flavanoid, alkaloids, tannins, saponins and polyphenols. The content of polyphenols  100 g ingredients for fruit juice, extract 96% ethanol and ethyl acetate extracts of consecutive 0.473 g SAG: SAG 0.324 g; and 0.194 mg SAG. Vitamin C 100 g of ingredients for fruit juice, extract 96% ethanol and ethyl acetate extracts of consecutive 38.24 mg; 30.56 mg; 35.66 mg. for 100 g K Content material to juice, extract the ethanol 96% ethyl acetate extracts and a row of 0.39 g; 0.26 g; 0.22 g. Content of 100 g each Na ingredients for fruit juice, extract the ethanol 96% ethyl acetate extracts and a row of 0.0269 g; 0.0416 g; 0.0436 g. The results showed the treatment given the very real effect of lowering uric acid levels of rats, a third dose of juice lowers blood uric acid levels up to 40%, 96% ethanol extract Dosage dose 53.58 g/100 ml and 80.37 g/100mlserta ethyl acetate extract dosage 7.74 g/100 ml can also lower blood uric acid levels exceed the positive control. Key words:   Uric acid, fruit juice, ethanol and ethyl acetate extract fruit soursop (Annona muricata Linn),

Abstract

Sakit gigi merupakan efek yang dibawa oleh gigi busuk yang disebabkan oleh bakteri yang memproduksi asam dalam mulut. Bakteri ini bertanggungjawab dalam pemecahan fermentasi gula. Bakteri penghasil asam menyerang email yang melindungi gigi, nyeri disebabkan oleh korosif email gigi dan terpaparnya ujung syaraf gigi. Berdasarkan hasil kromatogram kandungan daun sirih merah sama dengan sirih biasa seperti alkaloid, flavonoid, tanin dan minyak atsiri. Senyawa-senyawa inilah yang diduga berpotensi sebagai antibakteri. Oleh karena itu, dilakukan pengujian antibakteri dengan mengukur LDH ekstrak daun sirih merah. Simplisia daun sirih merah memiliki kadar air sebesar 1,0239% dan rendemen sebesar  14,4818%. Pengujian dilakukan dengan konsentrasi 2,5%; 5%;  7,5% dan 10%. Data yang dihasilkan dianalisis menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan program software SAS (Statistic Analyze System). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol daun sirih merah memiliki kemampuan menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri penyebab sakit gigi dan konsentrasi yang paling baik adalah 10% dengan rata-rata LDH adalah 16,4166 mm. Hasil uji fitokimia menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol daun sirih merah mengandung senyawa flavonoid, saponin dan tanin. Keyword : Ekstrak daun, Piper cf ftagile Benth., sakit gigi

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the quality of diluent which is stored at room temperature and temperature of preservation to survival of spermatozoa, to know the temperature of cement storage to survival of spermatozoa and to know the type of cement diluent material to survival of spermatozoa. The study used local sheep cement. The design used was Randomized Block Design (RAK) Factorial pattern with 2 treatment of storage temperature ie S1 = room temperature; S2 = preservation temperature; and with 4 diluent treatment: P1 = yolk citrate; P2 = skim milk; P3 = liquid milk; P4 = tris of soybeans. The observed variables were the macroscopic and microscopic cement quality prior to dilution, the progressive movement of sperm from each diluent and the progressive movement of sperm at each storage temperature. The administration of yolk citrate diluents affects the survival of spermatozoa compared with other diluents (P> 0.05). The preservation temperature gives optimum results in suppressing the rate of decline in survival of spermatozoa (P <0.05). Giving yolk citrate stored at a preservation temperature is apparent in maintaining the survival of spermatozoa with 55% motility for three days. Keywords: survival, spermatozoa, cement diluents, storage temperature

Abstract

Antelmintik adalah obat yang digunakan untuk memberantas atau mengurangi cacing dari dalam tubuh manusia atau hewan. Salah satu simplisia nabati yang dikembangkan sebagai obat tradisional adalah biji labu merah (Cucurbita moschata) yang dalam bentuk ekstrak telah digunakan dalam beberapa obat antara lain untuk obat anticacing (antelmintik) terutama untuk cacing pita, ekspektoran dan dapat digunakan sebagai insektisida. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui konsentrasi efektif dari biji labu merah (Cucurbita moschata Duch.) sebagai antelmintik pada Ascaridia galli. Penelitian dilakukan dengan uji efektifitas menggunakan cacing Ascaridia galli yang direndam dalam ekstrak etanol biji labu merah (Cucurbita moschata) dengan konsentrasi 20%; 30%; 40% dan 50%. Pada kontrol positif digunakan suspensi Piperazine sitrat 0,09 % dan larutan fisiologis NaCl 0,09 % sebagai kontrol negatif. Hasil pengujian efektivitas ekstrak etanol biji labu merah menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi konsentrasi ekstrak yang digunakan maka semakin tinggi pula mortalitasnya pada Ascaridia galli dimana secara berturut-turut dari konsentrasi 20%; 30%; 40% dan 50% menunjukkan rata-rata mortalitas sebesar 90%; 95%; 97,5% dan 100%. Potensi ekstrak etanol biji Labu Merah sebagai antelmintik dapat diketahui dengan membandingkan nilai EC50 Piperazin sitrat dengan nilai EC50 ekstrak etanol biji Labu Merah, diperoleh potensi sebesar 1/48, artinya daya antelmintik dari ekstrak etanol biji Labu Merah adalah 1/48 kali kontrol positif Piperazin sitrat atau daya antelmintik dari Piperazin sitrat sebesar 48 kali ekstrak etanol biji Labu Merah. Kata kunci: Antelmintik, Ascaridia galli, Cucurbita moschata

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the activity of the leaf extract of Piper sarmentosum on mortality and damage levels by pest armyworm (Spodoptera litura). This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Pakuan University, Bogor. This study uses a completely randomized design (CRD), with four levels of extract concentration, that is 0% as control, 30%, 40% and 50%.  Each treatment was repeated four times. The variables measured were mortality rates, the extent of damage the leaves, and larval growth. A concentration of EDK 50% showed activity in killing the armyworm by 38%. The lowest level of damage is 5%, with an average growth rate to its lowest larvae by 0.8 cm with the provision of treatment EDK 50%, and the higest level of damage is 75% by a concetration of EDK 30% treatments.

Abstract

Human physical exercise is influenced by hemoglobin levels in the blood, stimulant testing of underlying fatigue should be tested for Hb levels. This study aims to determine the increase in stimulation and hemoglobin levels of white rats using beetroot and apple juice. The method used for stimulant testing was the endurance test using a rotarod and for measuring Hb levels using the sahli method with a hemometer. The data observed were the duration of resistance on rotarod stick which were rotated, the experimental animals used were 25 animals divided into 5 treatment groups with each group of 5 rats namely: group of beetroot and apple (1: 1) (2.8g: 0.63mg / 200gBB), comparison (2: 1) of (5.6g: 0.63mg / 200gBB), comparison (1: 2) of (2.8g: 1.26mg / 200gBB), negative control (-) (CMC-Na 0.5%) and positive  control (+) caffeine 20 mg / 200g BB. Dosage treatment is carried out in one day.The results showed that the combination of beetroot and apple juice had an increase in stimulant and hemoglobin levels of white rats with the most effective dose for stimulant enhancement and Hb levels were found in the second dose compared to beetroot and apple juice (2: 1) 5.6 g / 200gBB: 0.63 g / 200gBB.

Abstract

This research was aimed to create aromatic candle, infused with cinnamon (Cinnamomum burmanii) bark essential oil, which is a potential repellant for house fly (Musca domestica).  The distillation of akar wangi samples was carried out at the Spice and Aromatic Research Unit by vapor distillation method for 9-12 hours. The aromatic candles were based on a mixture of solid paraffin and stearin in a 2:8 proportion, respectively, enriched with fragrant root bark essential oils with 5 formulas, namely F1 (placebo), F2 (fixative), F3 (1% essential oil), F4 (2% essential oil), and F5 (3% essential oil).  The repellency test was carried out by inserting 20 house flies in a of 50x50x50 cm container that contains a lighted aromatic candle according to the doses mentioned above, and shrimp scalps located 15 cm from the candle that functions as a bait. The calculated parameters were the hourly number of flies that were allured to the bait for 6 hours, which were related to the candle’s repellency and the house fly’s preference of candle. The repulsion ability result were 89.724%, 75.28%, 68.06%, 49.17%, 9.72% for F5, F4, F3, F2, and F1, respectively. The result also showed that the F4 sample was the most preferred sample.

Abstract
