Abstract

In this research, steady state and thermal crack analysis was carried out on clear glass exposed to heat radiation with different thicknesses. The analysis process is carried out from the thickness of the glass and testing the temperature variation of the glass testing process to find out the maximum temperature limit of radiation exposure until the glass multiplies thermal crack with steady state analysis of the predetermined ideal heat time. The data collection method used in this study was through testing in an oven where data collection was based on the results of a thermal steady state analysis. The increase in temperature per minute from the first minute was 138.4 ⁰C to the 7th minute or the end was 179.3 °C, from the results research states that in the 7th minute the glass has experienced a crack or crack where the crack starts from the side of the glass which is insulated from radiant heat.

Abstract

In the automotive field, the development of motorcycle ignition systems has been able to improve engine performance more fuel efficient. TCI has the advantage of transferring high voltage to the spark plug, the results issued from TCI are greater than the CDI system. To find out the results of motorcycle performance, namely the TCI ignition system and spark plugs on performance and exhaust emissions from motorcycles that use fuels such as Premium Ron 80, Pertalite Ron 90, and Pertamax Ron 92. Fuels that have octane that matches the bicycle motorcycles, in addition to the better performance of motorcycle engines, the fuel consumption is also more economical. In this study there are three variables, namely variations in rpm, performance and exhaust emissions. The results of the study of motorcycles that use the Ron 92 Pertamax fuel have far more torque and power than those that use the Ron 80 premium fuel and the pertalite Ron 90, while the HC levels produced by Ron 80 and 90 fuels tend to increase more than Ron fuel 92 which is between 65 - 228 ppm. CO2 levels were 12.53% while Pertamax was 10.74%, and pertalite was 11.17%, while the CO content produced was small at 3750 rpm resulting CO levels of 0.08 ppm. It can be concluded that the ignition produced is more stable which uses Pertamax fuel compared to using premium and pertalite fuel.

Abstract

In this research, boiler feed water pump at PLTU PT.ICA has a flow rate capacity of 85 m3 / h which is installed sporadically with a motor to drive the pump. This pump has an important role and the main pump for filling feed water from dearator into the steam drum (boler) which is always used for 2 years with varying flow rates.  Data needed for evaluation include pressure and temperature of the suction, pressure and temperature of the discharge, flow rate and electric current. The data were taken starting in January to Maret 2019. Data processing was performed using a centrifugal pump calculations includes head, water horse power  (whp), brake horse power (bhp) and efficiency presented in tables and graphs using Microsoft Excel. Boiler feed water pump sulzer during operations 3 months amounted the highest head amounted 1212,23 m, the highest whp amounted 223,25 kw, the highest bhp amounted 237,21 kw and the highest efficiency amounted 95,67 %, while the lowest head amounted 928,53 m, the lowest whp amounted 72,68 kw, the lowes bhp amounted 197,14 kw and thelowest efficiency amounted 36,85 %. Change of performance bfp occur due to changes flow rate and pressure suction which adjust operational needs.
