Abstract

In forest management at the site level, involving local communities in Forest and Land Rehabilitation (RHL) activities is expected to have a real impact on the success and benefits of RHL activities. Community participation in RHL planning is carried out by giving the community the opportunity to directly choose the type, quantity and pattern of planting, determining the area and location of planting that will be used in RHL activities. This research aims to find out the reasons why farmers participate in the RHL program and whether the RHL planning pattern that accommodates the participation of the cultivating community can be well received and can increase the success of RHL. The determination of respondents was carried out using a random sampling technique with quota control, namely following information determined purposively so that 36 respondents were obtained, key information was selected based on role, knowledge, communicativeness and willingness to fill out interview questions. Data collection was carried out on September 21 2023, in the districts of West Lampung, East Lampung, South Lampung, Tanggamus, Pesawaran, Pesisir Barat, and Way Kanan. Data on farmers' opinions regarding participation in planning RHL activities collected was analyzed descriptively, while data on farmers' motivation to participate in RHL activities and sources of information on RHL activities were analyzed using regression (Regression Analysis). With community participation through selecting the type and determining the location of activities independently, it makes them confident to be involved in the implementation of RHL planning because with their participation the responsibility and success of RHL planting will increase. Furthermore, there is a relationship between farmers' information sources and motivation to participate in RHL activities. The availability of information will influence people's perceptions and motivation for RHL activities.

Abstract

South Lampung District is one of the food barns for Lampung Province. The agricultural sector can be affected by changes in rainfall, especially in the food crop agricultural sector, which will affect the availability of food production. This study aims to identify the contribution of flood events, food availability and factors that directly and indirectly influence food availability in South Lampung District. The data used is secondary data. Identification of flood events based on information data from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), food availability is calculated based on the Food Material Balance guidelines from the Food Security Agency and analysis of direct and indirect effects using path analysis. The study suggests that  flooding mostly occurs in Palas, Penengahan, Candipuro, and Sidomulyo Districts In terms of rice production in 2019, six sub-districts experienced deficit in food production with an average decline of 33.9 percent due to drought. The variable of harvested area has a direct and indirect effect on food availability with the intervening variable the amount of production.

Abstract

Public perception is important in implementing Forest and Land Rehabilitation (FLR) in forest areas where tenure conflicts are thick. The research aims to analyze community perceptions of the implementation of FLR based on local superior plants in Girimulyo Village, Marga Sekampung District, East Lampung Regency. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire of 30 respondents determined by purposive sampling. The collected data was analyzed descriptively to analyze farmers' perceptions and their relationship to social, economic and ecological aspects. Public perception of FLR activities based on forestry plants (Trees) is included in the medium category. The public's perception of FLR based on the superior Siger avocado crop in terms of social, economic and ecological aspects is in the high category. The community realizes that FLR for local superior plants is more profitable than FLR based on forestry plants. It is necessary to increase human resources in the Mulyo Lestari Agro Forest Farmers Group in order to facilitate the administrative management process

Abstract

The conversion of land in urban areas, especially Green Open Space (GOS), into development land causes green land to decrease, coupled with the increasing volume of vehicles. The rapid activity of manufacturing plants and excessive energy consumption are contributing factors to the increase in CO2 in the air, and the quantity and quality of O2 is declining. Green Open Space or city park is an open space that has ecological benefits, the space is filled by trees that form vegetation, socio-cultural benefits as a forum for interaction between visitors, architectural and aesthetic benefits for the beauty of the city that can provide benefits in the form of recreational and tourist spaces for the community. The existence of RTH will improve air quality and comfort in densely populated areas. The method used is to calculate the Temperature Humidity Index (THI). The research aims to analyze the temperature and humidity that affect the comfort level of GOS in Gedong Tataan. Data is taken in October 2023. The results showed that the highest temperature was found in Gedong Tataan Park, which was 34.4 oC, and the lowest temperature was found in Jejama Sidototo Park, which was 25.8 oC. The difference in temperature and air humidity in the two RTHs in Gedong Tataan District is caused by differences in the composition of vegetation types. The diversity of vegetation types can reduce air temperature and increase humidity to provide comfort in both GOSs.
