Abstract

Hydroponics offers a modern agricultural solution to overcome land limitations in urban settings. Despite its advantages, the system commonly relies on synthetic fertilizers like AB Mix, which are costly and may pose environmental risks. As a sustainable alternative, liquid organic fertilizer (POC) derived from Tithonia diversifolia, combined with nanobubble technology, may improve nutrient uptake efficiency in plants. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of combining AB Mix and nano POC on the growth of pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.) in a nanobubble-based hydroponic system. A Completely Randomized Design (CRD) was used with five treatments and five replicates: P1 (100% AB Mix), P2 (75% AB Mix + 25% nano POC), P3 (50% AB Mix + 50% nano POC), P4 (25% AB Mix + 75% nano POC), and P5 (100% nano POC). The measured variables were plant height, leaf number, leaf area, fresh weight, and dry weight. ANOVA and Duncan’s 5% test showed that P2 resulted in the best growth, while P5 had the lowest. These results indicate that nano POC is effective as a supplementary nutrient but cannot fully replace inorganic fertilizers. Further research is necessary to determine the optimal composition and its influence on plant quality.

Abstract

Pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.) production in Indonesia has declined due to limited land and reliance on costly inorganic fertilizer such as ABmix. Therefore, alternative fertilizer that are more efficient and enviromentally friendly are needed. This study aimed to eximine the effects of the liquid organic fertilizer (POC) made from gamal leaves (Gliricidia sepium Jacq. Kunth) using nano bubble technology on the growth and quality of pakcoy in a hydroponic system. A Completely Randomized Design (CRD) was used with five treatments: P1 (100% ABmix), P2 (75% ABmix +25% POC nano), P3 (50% ABmix+50% POC nano), P4 (25% ABmix+75% POC nano), and P5 (100% POC nano) each replicated five times. Observed parameters included plant height, leaf number and area, and fresh and dry weight. Result showed that treatment P3 gave the best performance in all observed variables. The balanced combination of ABmix and POC nano improve nutrient availability and photosynthetic efficiency, supporting optimal plant growth. Nano POC from gamal leaves shows potential as an alternative organic fertilizer in hydroponic systems, though further research is needed to understand its long-term effects and broader application.

Abstract

This study aims to make hydroponic plant cultivation the right alternative to overcome land limitations without the need for soil media. This study aims to determine the impact of using NPK-based sensors on the development of Caisim plants (Brassica Chinensis Var. Parachinensis) in a hydroponic system. The research design used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two treatments, namely hydroponics with and without the help of IoT-based NPK sensors. Parameters include plant height, number and area of leaves, fresh weight, and dry weight. Data were analyzed using an unpaired T test at a significance level of 5%.  The results show that the use of NPK sensors has a significant effect on most growth indicators, except for dry weight. The application of this sensor has been shown to increase the efficiency of nutrient absorption needed by plants.  Therefore, this technology is worthy of being a modern solution in hydroponic cultivation to optimize production results efficiently.

Abstract

One of the factors that influences the growth of African catfish is feed. Cow dung and Moringa leaves are one of the ingredients for making organic pellets that can support the growth of catfish. This is because Cow Manure and Moringa Leaves contain quite high levels of protein. This research aims to determine the effect of organic cow dung pellets with the addition of Moringa leaves on the growth of African catfish seedlings. This type of research is an experiment by making organic pellets from cow dung and Moringa leaves with different treatments. The data obtained were analyzed statistically using the ANOVA test via the SPSS 21 application. The results showed that treatments A, B, and K+ were not effective because the growth of African catfish was slow. Treatment C obtained good results with an average fish length of 3,173-4,181 cm and weight of 6-9 grams. Furthermore, the DNMRT test results were 3.926d and 7.6b. Almost approaching the growth of Dumbo K-Catfish. Increase in length of Dumbo K Catfish - 4,705-5,142 cm and weight 8-12 gr. Furthermore, the DNMRT test results were 4.8166e and 10.2c. The composition of 25% Cow Manure and 75% Moringa Leaves in organic pellets can be used as an alternative feed ingredient for Dumbo Catfish. In conclusion, the effectiveness of organic pellets made from Cow Manure and Moringa Leaves is close to chemical pellets.

Abstract

Red spinach (Amaranthus tricolor L.) is a high nutritional value vegetable that is increasingly in demand in Indonesia. Hydroponics is an innovative solution to overcome land limitations, but the efficiency of nutrient delivery in manual methods is still a challenge. This study aims to compare the growth of red spinach in the NPK sensor-based hydroponic system based on the Internet of Things (IoT) with the manual method. The study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with two treatments, namely the use of IoT-based NPK sensors and manual methods, each with two replications and nine samples per replication. The results showed that the use of IoT sensors significantly increased plant height (37.9 cm), leaf area (245.5 cm²), wet weight (9.3 g), and dry weight (1.6 g) compared to the manual method. Statistical analysis using an unpaired t-test at the 5% real level showed significant differences in most growth parameters. IoT technology is proven to be effective in increasing the efficiency and productivity of hydroponic systems by providing real-time nutrition according to plant needs. This research supports the development of IoT technology for sustainable agriculture, while having a positive impact on production efficiency and resource savings.

Abstract

The decline in vegetable production is caused by the conversion of agricultural land into residential areas which results in a reduction in agricultural land area. To overcome this problem, the hydroponic system is one of the alternative solutions used to replace lost agricultural land. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of providing liquid organic fertilizer (POC) derived from (Sargassum sp.) with nano bubble technology on the quality of pakchoy (Brassica rapa L.) plants in hydroponic cultivation. The research method used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five treatments. Data were analyzed using the ANOVA test and Duncan's test. The results showed that the P2 and P3 treatments were significantly different in increasing plant height with the highest average of 23.4 cm and the lowest P5 of 13.56 cm. Likewise, P3 produces the most optimal average number of leaves and overall plant quality, the cause is the availability of balanced nutrients. Nano bubble technology increases the efficiency of nutrient absorption and reduces sedimentation in the wick hydroponic system. The conclusion is that the combination of AB Mix and POC Nano is able to optimize the growth and quality of pakchoy plants in the hydroponic system, showing the potential for sustainable agriculture using innovative fertilizer technology.

Abstract

In hydroponic cultivation, the effectiveness of nutrient distribution is crucial in ensuring optimal plant growth. This research aims to compare the efficiency of nutrient solution delivery using an Internet of Things (IoT)-based NPK sensor with the conventional manual method on the growth of pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.). The study was conducted using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two treatment groups: one utilizing IoT-based NPK sensors and the other without sensors. Each treatment was repeated twice, with nine plant samples per repetition. The observed growth parameters included plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, fresh weight, and dry weight at six weeks after planting. The findings revealed that the implementation of IoT-based NPK sensors significantly enhanced the growth of pakcoy plants compared to the manual method. This was evidenced by a notable increase in plant height, leaf area, and fresh weight (p < 0.05). In conclusion, the application of IoT technology improves the efficiency and effectiveness of nutrient distribution in hydroponic systems, positively impacting plant growth. The scientific significance of this research suggests that integrating IoT-based technology into hydroponic farming can serve as an innovative approach to enhancing plant productivity in a precise and sustainable manner.
