Abstract

Education is a process of the changeperson attitude or behaviorto mature human being through the effort of teaching implementation by sticking to the norm that has long been happened from young generation to next generation. Traditional education is synonymous with pesantren which the implementation is carried out in an informal way through takhassus approach, and regeneration. Islamic perspective of science comes from God. If there are differences between sense and revelation,Islamic thinkers will be more trustworthy and mandatory of the truthrevelationauthority than the result of sensing, because the truth of revelation is regarded as true and absolute truth. InIslamicClassical, education is devided into two categories: formal and informal institutions (kuttab, shuffauh, halaqoh, qushur, majlis and mosque and clerical house) and they have their own characteristics. The orientation of traditional education is to carry the sacred duty of spreading religion. Preserving the teachings of Islam, the Reaching of the Eucharist, Focused on Islamic Educational Science, teacher-centered Education, Traditional education system of learning, they still use halaqoh system, gather, group up afterwards forward one by one. This model of education is then used as capital to transform education; it means that the education quality is better than before.

Abstract

The problem that is the subject of the study in this study is the madrasah chief's strategy in implementing supervision to improve the quality of Islamic education, and the factors that influence it. This study uses a qualitative approach, and the instruments used in data collection by researchers include interviews, observation and documentation. The informants from this study are the Heads, Waka, Teachers and Students. The technique used to check the credibility of the data is the extension of the presence of the researcher, in-depth observation, triangulation, detailed description and analysis of negative cases. The results of the study show that the madrasah chief's strategy in implementing supervision to improve the quality of management of Islamic education institutions is to use several methods, which are varied and some of the approaches taken by the head of the madrasah which can then improve the quality of education in this educational institution, then the other is to use an approach individuals, group approaches, educational approaches, religious approaches or religious approaches, fulfillment of school facilities and infrastructure, appreciation of student learning and so on. While the factors that influence the madrasah chief's strategy in implementing supervision to improve the quality of Islamic education institutions are positive factors which include the existence of adequate human resources, student awareness, and also the existence of cooperation between existing education practitioners, complete facilities and infrastructure, then the teacher's creativity in teaching.

Abstract

Pesantren is an Islamic educational institution that has advantages both in terms of scientific traditions as well as the transmission and intensity of Muslims. The swift current of globalization has threatened the existence of pesantren, so that the idea of modernization has arisen in the environment of pesantren in order to answer the challenges of the need for social transformation. However, many people worry about the modernization of pesantren-oriented ideas which can now influence the identity and main functions of pesantren.
