Abstract

This study aims to determine: (1) student activities in cooperative learning type STAD with the assistance of unloading rectangular material in class VII SMPK Alvarez Paga;(2) student learning outcomes on rectangular material in class VII SMPK Alvarez Paga through the application of the STAD type cooperative learning model assisted by the loading and unloading media. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (PTK) which is conducted in two cycles. Each cycle has four stages of activity, namely: planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. Data collection techniques used in this study were observation, tests, and documentation. The subjects in this study were students of class VII SMPK Alvarez Paga with 18 students consisting of 8 boys and 10 girls. Data analysis using observational data analysis techniques and data analysis techniques learning outcomes. The results of this study indicate the cooperative learning model type STAD with the assistance of unloading learning media can increase learning activities and learning outcomes of class VII students of SMPK Alvarez Paga.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the mathematical elements contained in the traditional puzzle game of the Rihut Village community. This study uses an ethnographic research type with a qualitative approach. The subjects of this study consisted of 2 informants, namely Community Leaders and Mathematics Teachers. In collecting data, interview and documentation techniques were used. Data were analyzed descriptively and qualitatively. The results of the study show that there are mathematical concepts, especially seen in the tools of the stone puzzle game, the rules of the stone puzzle game, and the stone puzzle player. The mathematical concepts found in the stone puzzle game are the concepts of circles, permutations and mathematical logic. (1). The shape of the stone used to play stone puzzles is a round shape resembling a circle. (2). Puzzle players, judging from the sequence of the puzzle games, players start by drawing lots by doing hompimpa. This is where there is the concept of permutations in the puzzle game to calculate the pattern of the puzzle game sequence. (3). Rules of the puzzle game, the concept contained in the rules of the puzzle game is the concept of mathematical logic seen in the right and wrong of a game. Based on the results of the study, the researchers concluded that there are mathematical concepts in the puzzle game, namely circles, permutations, and other mathematical concepts contained in the puzzle tiles such as addition, and subtraction.

Abstract

Education and culture are two inseparable components like two sides of a coin. People often do not realize that they have applied various mathematical concepts in their customs and culture. One of the cultural heritages of Manggarai passed down by our ancestors to this day is the Manggarai traditional house. This study aims to describe the concept of plane geometric shapes in the Mbaru Gendang traditional house in Cambir village. This research is descriptive qualitative research. The subjects of this study were informants namely tu'a gendang, tu'a tanga and community leaders. The instruments used were human instruments, interview guidelines and documentation. Collecting data using interviews and documentation. Data analysis uses three activities according to Miles and Huberman, namely data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The results of this study indicate that the ethnomathematics in the Mbaru Gendang Traditional House in Cambir village has mathematical concepts, namely (1) On the tent board (deck) of the Mbaru Gendang traditional house are: Equilateral Triangles, Trapezoid and Circles. (2) On the bolo section (Front Door) and the ventilation for the bolo of the Mbaru Gendang traditional house are in the form of Rectangle and Belaketupat. (3) On the window ventilation and later pillars of the Mbaru Gendang traditional house, these are: Squares and Right-angled Triangles.
