Abstract

Sampling (parrot fish) is randomized sampling, ie traditional market (Kebon Roek Ampenan, East Sukaraja Ampenan, and Pagesangan) in Mataram City of West Nusa Tenggara Province. Research method based on standard morphometric measurement and electrophoresis analysis of SDS-PAGE. Fifteen characters measured from six fish samples representing the sampling sites showed that morphologically allegedly there were two different groups of parrot fish samples with striking differences found in the color patterns below the jaws and the color patterns of the fins. Based on the analysis of SDS-PAGE, it is assumed that there are 3 (three) biogenetic diversity seen from the existence of the amount of blood protein band based on 5 standard protein locus, that is 8 protein band (2 sample of parrot fish) and 9 protein band for 4 sample of other parrot fish two different types of allele locations).

Abstract

Abstract : This research is a preliminary research that the source of information obtained to be used as a reference resource of teaching materials and practicum materials on Invertebrate Systematic course especially for Biology Education students FPMIPA IIKIP Mataram. The specific objective of this study was to identify the types of insects found in rice and paddy fields using simple trapping methods using modified glue. Research stages include the selection, collection, grouping and identification of insects carried out considering the seasons (dry and rainy), pre-harvest conditions, and time (morning and afternoon). Collecting and collecting data were performed 4 times each for 2 weeks (in the dry season and the rain) at 2 points of trap sampling. The results of identification showed that the discovery of 10 families of 7 orders of insects with a total of 311 individuals. Where, the largest number of entangled in the family Coccinelidae (85 individuals), Acrylidae (71 individuals), and Reduviidae were 61 individuals.

Abstract

Kaempferia galanga L. capability as antibacterial has been proven by the formation of drag zone in some pathogenic bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes and Klebsiella pneumonia by disc-diffusion method. The secondary metabolite content of Kaempferia galanga L., which is efficacious as antibacterial include essential oil, sesquiterpenoid, flavonoid, phenolic or polyfenol compounds and alkaloids. Therefore, it is necessary to do this research to isolate antibacterial compounds from kencur with various solvents such as aquadest with methanol. This research was a laboratory experiment with complete randomized design (RAL) with extract concentration of 50%, 75% and 100% of aquadest solvent with methanol five times repetition. Antibacterial test using agar diffusion method with wells. The inhibit zone formed is tabulated and analyzed using one-way analysis of variance (Anova). It was found that there was a significant difference between the extract with the aquadest solvent and the methanol solvent extract on Salmonella typhimurium growth at a significant level of 5% (Fcount (282.86) > Ftable (2.62)). However the drag zone formed in the weak category is below 15 mm. So it can be concluded that the extract methanol kencur showed weak antibacterial activity seen from the increase in diameter of inhibit zone of Salmonella typhimurium bacteria significantly along with increasing the concentration of methanol extract of kencur rhizome but not on the extract of aquadest Kaempferia galanga L. kale rhizome.

Abstract

This study aims to determine differences in student learning outcomes in biology learning by using youtube media at MA Annajah Ponpes Al Halimy Sesela. This study involved 53 students of class IX MA, with 27 students for the experimental class and 26 students for the control class. This type of research is a quasi-experimental with post-test only control group design and the determination of samples using purposive sampling. The data collected is the data of student learning outcomes and student responses after participating in biology learning using youtube media. Learning outcome data were analyzed using an independent test sample T-Test in significance 5% with SPSS 16.00 for windows. The results of the analysis of learning outcomes data show that p = 0.008, so that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, that is there is no difference between the average learning outcomes of group A who follow the learning with youtube media and group B with learning not to use youtube media. The conclusion from this study is that there are differences in learning outcomes between students who take learning using Youtube media and students who take conventional learning (without Youtube) at MA Annajah Ponpes Al Halimy Sesela.

Abstract

Jangkok River is one of the lotic ecosystems in the city of Mataram. Based on previous studies it was concluded that this river has various types of biodiversity in it. The purpose of this study was to identify the types of Annelida found in the Jangkok River in Mataram City. This type of research is descriptive exploratory research with quantitative and qualitative approaches. This research was conducted on March 14, 2018. The research samples were river water taken at 3 stations namely upstream, middle and downstream using purposive sampling technique. Based on its existence, the Annelida type was found in downstream stations as many as 46 individuals, and 5 at the middle station, whereas it was not found at the upstream station. The type of Annelida found is the Olygochaeta class with Lumbricus terestis species and Tubifex sp. and the Hirudinae class with Hirudo medicinalis species.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the existence of the sub-order species Rhopalocera in Kerandangan Nature Tourism Park (NTP) area and the extent of its phylogenetic level between species found. This type of research was quantitative descriptive research. The sampling location consists of two location points namely the location of the park (the front part of NTP) as station I and the waterfall area of the cave wallet used as station II. Sampling was carried out by estimating the distribution of time ie morning and afternoon with observations for 2 (two) weeks. Sample footage used exploratory survey (roaming) with entrapping method. Data were analyzed descriptively to show a description of the morphology of the species found. Then the similarity level index of soransen was calculated with a limit of 9 species based on the number of species found. The results showed that the types of sub-order Rhopalocera found were Troides helena, Papilio memnom, Graphium sarpedon, Papilio peranthus, Doleschallia bisaltide, Cupha erymanthis, Mycalesis sp., and Jamides alecto. While the closest phylogenetic level falls on Papilio polytes and Papilio peranthus is 100% and species with the farthest kinship level are between species of Papilio polytes and Doleschallia bisaltide with a percentage of phylogenetic is 57,9%.

Abstract

This study aimed that to examine the extent of the diversity of morphological characters from random cross-breeding with mixtur  parental sources, then packaged to add material to the subject matter of Vertebrate Animal Systematics as a reference source for students of Biology Education Study Program FPMIPA IKIP Mataram. This research is a case study based on explorations descriptive that are presented qualitatively. A total of 24 cats were obtained by road sampling. Morphological characters include body color, color pattern, fur length, and tail length. The results showed that the frequency of appearance of morphological characters due to marriage in the same lineage led to the characteristics of mixtur race cats by 90.7% and 8.3% of domestic cats. Inline marriages (between siblings/mothers) tend to show large-medium round, high morphology, solid color patterns, thick fur, and long tails. While the appearance of short-tailed morphological characters leading to domestic cats and gray colors in low frequencies is thought to be the result of lethal and heterozygous genes derived.
