Abstract

Shielded Metal Arc Welding is one of the most widely used welding in welding work because it is easier and cheaper than other electric arc welding. In welding, welding defects often occur, welding defects are triggered by the use of amperes, welding speed, and the movement of the welding arc. In this study, the use of various amperes will be carried out, intended to determine which amperage is more optimal so that it can eliminate welding defects that occur. Experiments were carried out with the same welding parameters using different amperes, namely five samples of 85 ampere welding, five samples of 95 amperage welding, 5 samples of 105 ampere welding. The phenomenon of arc movement, welding speed will be observed using a camera so that its effect on the welding results is known. This study did not get the results of the use of the most optimal welding current so that the purpose of this study was not achieved, where the purpose of this study was the use of the most optimal welding current at the 4F welding position so as to eliminate welding defects that occurred in the SMAW welding. In the results of this study, it was found that there were welding defects in each variation of amperage used, namely amperes 85, amperes 95, amperes 105.

Abstract

Shaft is one of the materials that must have a low surface roughness value from the machining process, especially using the Tornos Geminis S.L semi-automatic lathe. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the furious form on the surface roughness of the S45C material. This study used factor variables that are thought to affect the shape and surface roughness of the S45C material, namely, the cutting angle of the chisel with a level (80o, 82o, 84o), feeding depth with a level (0.4 mm, 0.6 mm, 0.8 mm) and Spindle rotation with levels (200 RPM, 280 RPM, 360 RPM). The lowest surface roughness value for the S45C material was obtained from the variation of the chisel cutting angle factor of 80º, infeed depth of 0.4 mm, and spindle rotation of 280 RPM with a surface roughness value of 5.171 . From the lowest value of surface roughness, a tubular growl (short) is produced.

Abstract

Lathes include one type of tooling machine, the working principle in the lathe process is the process of removing parts of the workpiece. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of spindle rotation, dietary depth, and cooling media variations (Oli, dromus, air). The process of subsubsting uses the MAWItec D.O.O lathe.B 160x1000, and uses S45C material. This study uses the RSM method. Minimal research results in this study with variations in parameters spindle rotation 1000 RPM (factor 1 level 3), nutritional depth 0.7 (factor 2 level 2) and air conditioning media (3) (factor 3 level 3) with a resulting roughness value of 1,662 μm.

Abstract

Bone joint plates have a high production potential. This can be seen from the number of cases related to trauma to the bone which has increased quite high in Indonesia. The jaw bone joint plate or commonly known as the mini plate serves to connect the bones in the jaw that has been traumatized or broken. The manufacture of mini plates generally uses an EDM machine, wire cutting and laser cutting which can only process with a gradual working principle. Based on the description above, it is necessary to manufacture a micro punch machine for the manufacture of jaw bone joint plates (mini plates), so that they can be used to mass produce mini plates. This study aims to design a mini punch machine for the manufacture of a mini plate using a research method that refers to the book Product Design and Development (Karl T. Ulrich, Steven D. Eppinger) in order to obtain an optimal machine design. The results obtained based on the research method used, obtained a micro punch machine design for the manufacture of a mini plate using the working principle of a progressive tool, a pneumatic prime mover and a material strip drive using a fedder system.

Abstract

Charcoal briquettes are charcoal sticks made from coconut shells and molded using a machine to produce very high heat and can burn for a long time. The use of charcoal briquettes from coconut shells will contribute to reducing dependence on firewood, LPG gas and kerosene, the availability of which is running low and cannot be renewed, especially for communities in several Sungailiat areas and at the same time can support the use of coconut shell waste as a material. burn.This research aims to design and build a Coconut Shell Charcoal Briquette Printing Machine with a capacity of 12kg/hour and design a maintenance system for the Coconut Shell Charcoal Briquette Printing Machine so that it is ready for use and extends its service life. The design method used in this research is Verein Deutsche Ingenieuer (VDI 2222).The results of research on the Coconut Charcoal Briquette Printing Machine using the VDI 2222 design method, namely printing Coconut Charcoal Briquettes with a length of 60cm and a capacity of 12kg/hour. The maintenance system on this machine uses planned maintenance and inspections for operators to carry out independent maintenance.

Abstract

Mobile phone users in Indonesia have currently reached 345 million units. Due to the large number of mobile phone users currently, some people may need a holder on their desk to make calls, watch videos and use applications without needing to hold the mobile phone directly. Product design for a cellphone stand holder with movement of at least 2 planes of rotation for use on a table. The aim of making this final project is to create a cellphone stand holder product design using Solidwork software and the product is printed using 3D printing in the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic laboratory. This research uses the VDI2222 method, namely, planning, conceptualizing, designing, completing. The product will be produced in the Polman Babel mechanical laboratory using 3D printing. Cellphone stand holder products with sizes P=29mm, L=29mm, T=100mm are able to withstand a maximum load of 250 grams, with main systems such as a rotation system that uses a ball head that can rotate 360°, a holder and lock system that can clamp the cellphone holder when in use. , and the grounding system uses standard aluminum alloy materials. Holder was able to process 3D printing in 3.17 hours.

Abstract

The pineapple juice extractor machine is used for the process of pressing pineapples to produce juice while separating the pulp. The currently available machines generally use electric motors with a power of 0.35 HP. However, with that motor power, the existing machines are not able to press pineapples optimally, as the electric motor tends to lose power during operation. Therefore, this research focuses on calculating the appropriate motor power to be used in a pineapple juice extractor machine with a capacity of 5 kg/hour. The method applied involves calculating several parameters, including load, capacity, torque, and motor power. This is intended to ensure that the motor used is truly capable of accommodating the desired machine capacity. Based on the calculations performed, the most suitable electric motor for a pineapple juice extractor machine with a 5 kg/hour capacity is one witch a power rating of 0.5 HP.

Abstract

Industrial crate washing is a crucial activity in maintaining hygiene and operational efficiency within the manufacturing sector. PT. Berdikari Metal Engineering faces challenges due to a manual washing process that is labor-intensive, time-consuming, and only capable of cleaning 25 crates per day out of a 150-crate target. This study aims to design an automatic crate washing machine with a focus on high-pressure washing systems to enhance process effectiveness. The design method follows the VDI 2222 approach, consisting of planning, conceptualization, design, and simulation stages. The machine features three main zones: washing, rinsing, and drying, where washing and rinsing utilize a jet pump system. Technical calculations determined that the required motor pump power for the washing zone is 10 HP, based on the number of nozzles, flow rate, and spray pressure of 80 psi. Simulation results using SolidWorks indicate that the machine structure is safe, with stress and safety factor values within acceptable limits. In conclusion, the design successfully delivers an efficient washing system that meets the company's daily production targets and reduces reliance on manual labor.

Abstract

Qibla direction guide stick specially designed for blind people. This stick is equipped with HC SR04 Ultrasonic Sensor to detect surrounding objects, HMC5883L Compass Sensor to determine the Qibla direction, and a control system that uses Arduino Uno as the programming brain. The development method involves the design and integration stages of these sensors, as well as the development to process sensor data to produce qibla direction information. The results show that this qibla direction guide stick can be used effectively, providing timely and accurate feedback to the user. Thus, the development of this technology has great potential to improve the independence and quality of life of blind people in their religious practices. This study makes an important contribution in the field of technology expanding the possibilities for blind people to participate fully in religious activities.
