Abstract

"Dusung" is a habitat with a variety of plant communities in the form of trees. bushes, and grass. Research aims to identify under growth in "Dusung" at different altitudes. The research was carried out in Dusung Hative Besar using the method of surveying weeds directly in the field. Vegetation analysis using the squared method by purposive sampling with sample plots measuring 1×1m. Sampling on nutmeg plantation areas is carried out in each area at various different heights, namely at altitudes of 0, 100, and 200 m asl. The results showed that the value of the community coefficient (C) obtained from the comparison between two communities, namely between 0 and 100 m asl, was 0%, while 0 and 200 m above sea level was3.17%. This shows that the lower plant communities at an altitude of 0 and 100 m above sea level and 0 and 200 m above sea level are different because of the value of C<70%. While the comparison between two communities altitudes of 100 and 200 asl has a C value of 72.48% means that the lower plant community between the two heights of the place being compared is the same or uniform (C >70%).

Abstract

The influence of global phenomena on Extreme rainfall in the Moluccas is El Nino and La Nina. This phenomenon is closely related to the reduction of rainfall and excess rainwater which has a systematic impact on the availability of groundwater and also on the production of food crops. This study aims to obtain data on the impact of El Nino and La Nina phenomena by calculating the availability of groundwater in Amahai district. The study used data on climatic elements from the Amahai Meteorological Station, then the data was processed using statistical calculations to obtain normal rainfall and the average distribution of precipitation in the growing season and planting time.

Abstract

A cropping pattern is an agricultural management activity that takes climate and soil conditions into account and seeks to achieve maximum results. Controlling cropping patterns is part of agricultural action planning to minimize the risk of crop failure. The purpose of this study is to (i) describe the climatic conditions in the Taniwell area, (ii) establish an effective growing season in the Taniwell area, and (iii) determine planting patterns for food crops in the Taniwell area. That's it. Length of growing season available. This study used his monthly climate data for 30 observation years from 1992 to 2021 from the Namlea Meteorological Station. Data analysis by following steps: (i) Analysis of rainfall (ii) Calculation of average rainfall (iii) Determination of rainfall with 75% probability (iv) Determination of planting season and planting pattern. The results showed that the effective growing season in the Taniwell area lasted 6 months and 24 days. It starts on December 1st and ends on June 24th.

Abstract

The research was carried out in Feruni Village, South Aru District, Aru Islands Regency, from September to November 2021. This study aims to determine the potential and utilization of sago plants (Metroylon sp) in Feruni Village, South Aru District, Aru Islands Regency. The method used was a survey, and field data was collected by using questionnaires and FGD. Twenty respondents of sago’s farmers were randomly selected, and data obtained were descriptively and quantitatively processed to calculate density, frequency, dominance, and the important value index. The results showed that there are 3 types of sago in Feruni Village, South Aru District, Aru Islands Regency, namely Molat Sago (Metroxylon sagus Rottb), Tuni (Metroxylon rumphii Mart.), and Ihur (Metroxylon sylvestre Mart.). Traditional tools such as axes and machetes are used by people in Feruni village to harvest sago after putting it into the gutter, while sago leaves are used for roofs, the woven tumang sago sheath is used for seats, and the sago stems are used for firewood. There are 4 types of processed sago flour products, namely Papeda, Pompom, Sinoli, and Jepa-jepa, and based on basic ingredients, they can be divided into 2 main groups: raw (wet) and dried sago flour.
