Abstract

Corn (Zea mays L.) is one of the main food crops in Indonesia and globally. Currently, corn has developed into functional food ingredients, emergency food ingredients, and industrial raw materials in the form of various products. This resulted in an increase in the national corn productivity rate with East Java as the province contributing the highest corn production in the latest report (2020). Therefore, this study aims to determine the development of corn supply, analyze the factors that influence corn supply and analyze the elasticity of corn supply in East Java Province. This study uses time series data for 2011-2021. The estimation of the parameters of the corn supply equation is conducted using multiple linear regression analysis with the OLS (Ordinary Least Squares) method. The findings from this study include: (1) the development of corn supply in East Java fluctuated but tended to increase; (2) the variables of price, harvested area, and corn production in the previous year had a significant effect on corn supply; and (3) the land area is elastic to supply in the short term, while in the long run, only price changes are responsive to supply.

Abstract

The implementation of this research is to answer three questions, including: (1) measuring the score of the Food Security Index (IKP) in the Besuki Residency, (2) mapping the distribution of priority areas for food insecurity in the Besuki Residency, and (3) providing recommendations for overcoming food insecurity problems. The data used is secondary data collected from the publications of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the Health Service, and the Ministry of Home Affairs. Analysis of the score of the Food Security Index uses seven indicators that are classified into three aspects, namely aspects of food availability, aspects of food accessibility, and aspects of food utilization. The determination of priority groups for vulnerable category areas refers to the cut-off point of the Food Security Index. Determination of recommendations for handling the vulnerable category areas using quantitative and qualitative approaches. The results of the study showed that: (1) the score of the Food Security Index in Besuki Residency area is 85.28 and this score is included in resistant category (fifth priority), (2) the distribution of priorities for vulnerable category areas in Besuki Residency area is divided into three categories, namely very vulnerable, vulnerable and slightly vulnerable, and (3) there are programs that have been implemented by the East Java Provincial Government as an effort to overcome for vulnerable areas. However, in its implementation, it is still necessary to pay attention to the equity in all regions by considering the various conditions and resources of each region. In addition, there is a need for integrated supervision in its implementation, so that the policy can take place more measurably.

Abstract

Milk is one of the important food sources for the community. Therefore, studies on the development of dairy cow milk production businesses have been carried out quite a lot, both nationally and globally. This study aims to determine the global trend of dairy cow milk production efficiency studies conducted using the bibliometric analysis method. The data used are scientific publications indexed on Google Scholar during the period 2014 - 2024 using the help of Publish or Perish, Mendeley Reference Manager, and VOSviewer software. The results of the study showed that publications related to dairy cow milk production efficiency studies has a positive trend with a tendency for study areas that can be grouped into socio-economic, production, environmental, and technology. In addition, there is a shift in the grouping of keywords used, namely that recent research focuses more on the quantity and quality of milk influenced by the treatment and formulation of feed in dairy cattle. The most widely used efficiency analysis research methods are Stochastic Frontier Analysis, Data Envelopment Analysis, and Cobb-Douglass Production Function. The results of this study provide an overview of further research opportunities related to dairy cow milk production efficiency with methods according to the needs.

Abstract

The study of consumer preferences is a major consideration in determining production and marketing strategies, including for fresh fruit products. This research aims to examine trends in studies on consumer preferences in the marketing of fresh fruits in Indonesia. The study was conducted using bibliometric analysis of data from studies over the period 2013-2023 from the Google Scholar database. Data collection was carried out using the Publish or Perish application by applying an appropriate keyword strategy as a form of selection. Subsequently, mapping and visualization of the analysis results were performed using the VOSviewer application. The analysis results show that the number of publications on consumer preferences for fresh fruits has significantly increased in the last decade, with the main focus on product attributes such as freshness, price, and taste. Studies on consumer preferences for fresh fruits in Indonesia predominantly focus on understanding consumer preferences, product attributes, and data collection methods. The most frequently appearing keywords reflect a strong interest in consumer preferences for local fruits compared to imported ones. The findings of this study open opportunities for further research, particularly in low-density areas such as specific geographical and demographic focuses and certain types of fruits that show potential for further study.
