Abstract

Diabetes is one of the four priority non-communicable diseases. According to the data, it is evident that 1 in 2 individuals with diabetes are unaware of their condition, while in fact, 80% of diabetes cases can be prevented. Referring to previous studies, both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes are increasing among adolescents. Although the underlying pathophysiological mechanisms and clinical profiles differ, there are common principles in managing both types. These principles involve achieving adequate glycemic control and adopting a healthy lifestyle with the aim of preventing chronic diabetes-related complications. This research utilized a dataset consisting of journals focused on adolescent health as the study population. We identified 30 indexed journals from various publishers in this literature review. The databases used for the search include ProQuest, ScienceDirect, PubMed, and the National Library. The review was limited to research published in the last 5 years. As a result, thirty (30) journals covering a range of topics related to previous research, including: 1) Diabetes, 2) Health Promotion, 3) Promotional Media, 4) Knowledge and Attitudes, and 5) Adolescents, were reviewed. Keywords: Diabetes, Media Promotion, Health Promotion, Adolescents.

Abstract

Background: Many people will always try to keep their body's health in top condition, but quite a few carry out medical check-ups (MCU) as a preventive measure by detecting disease as early as possible. This research aims to determine the strategy for developing medical check-up unit (MCU) services as a prevention effort by encouraging public interest in carrying out medical check-ups and optimizing hospital services. Method: Qualitative research methods are used to describe problem solving descriptively. The type and source of data used is secondary data sourced from previous research that is relevant to this research. The data that has been collected is then summarized and compiled in order to achieve problem solving and draw conclusions. Research Results/Discussion: The research results show that the strategy for developing medical check-up unit (MCU) services can be carried out using two strategies, namely market development and product development. Conclusion: One way to do market development is by forming a marketing unit whose task is to coordinate the marketing sector, from planning to monitoring the running of MCU unit services, as well as collaborating with companies that need health services. Product development can be done by making products that are more attractive to the market for the targets that have been set. In this case, MCU services in hospitals can take the form of flexible examination packages following trending health problems. Keywords: Medical Check-Up, Marketing Strategy, Health Services

Abstract

Handling diarrhea in toddlers is a global health issue that has serious impacts in terms of morbidity and mortality rates, especially in developing countries. This infectious disease is complex and influenced by several factors involving the environment, the disease-causing agent, and the host, which is known as the epidemiological triangle. This research aims to provide an overview of the handling of diarrhea incidents in toddlers in Southeast Sulawesi Province during the period 2018 to 2022 The research method used is a retrospective descriptive approach by collecting data from various sources, including health reports, medical records, and child health surveys. The data was then analyzed to evaluate the treatment of diarrhea in toddlers in the region. The research results showed that the treatment of diarrhea in toddlers in health facilities in Southeast Sulawesi Province experienced fluctuations during the 2018-2022 period. Diarrhea treatment coverage varies from the highest to the lowest regencies/cities in Southeast Sulawesi Province. Factors that influence the incidence of diarrhea include sanitation, access to clean water, hygiene practices, and public health policies. This research also identified that there are factors that cause diarrhea sufferers not to visit health facilities, including limited access, cost of care, lack of knowledge, and cultural factors. Therefore, public health education is key in efforts to reduce the incidence of diarrhea. Collaborative efforts between the government, non-governmental organizations, and local communities are needed to achieve a significant reduction in the incidence of diarrhea and increase the coverage of diarrhea treatment in the future.
