Abstract

Everyone has to work. By working, people can sustain their life and they alsochange the face of the world. In some points, everyone has different meaningsabout work. This writing wants to describe the true meaning of work accordingto the teachings of the Church. This writing uses library research type. Theprimary data source in this paper consists of two documents (Encyclical)namely Encyclical Laborem Exercens by Pope John Paul II and EncyclicalRerum Novarum written by Pope Leo XIII. In these two encyclicals, theessential meaning of work is the activity that man undertakes to sustainand develop his life. The call to work also shows that humans as partners ofGod’s work to develop the world. As God’s working partner, the archetype ofhuman labor is adapted to God’s actions in the world: creating, nurturing andimproving.

Abstract

This paper intends to describe the level of parental understanding in earlychildhood education in the family, describes parenting patterns and factorsthat lead to drop out rates and child deviant behavior. In this study theauthors used a qualitative approach and data were collected using interviewand observation techniques.The results of this study indicate that in general, parents realize the importanceof early childhood education but the awareness is not accompanied by theattention to the education of their children so that the pattern of care thatis formed is permissive parenting. The most dominant factor affecting earlychildhood education is environmental factors.Based on the results of this study, the author suggest to families to improve theparental control function of their children’s education process in formal school.In addition, parents need to supervise their child’s association so that childrendo not choose the wrong friends in associating. The social environment has asignificant impact on changes in children’s behavior, increasing the frequencyof delinquency or deviant behavior that increases the potential of children todrop out.
