Abstract

The study examined the effectiveness of emotion regulation training to reduce criminal policeman's work stress. This study used a pretest-posttest control group design. The participants were 13 criminal policemen from two different police stations, namely Polda X and Polsek Y. They were men and women aged between 20 - 50 years old, and classified into two groups. One group (n = 6) received emotion regulation training as the experimental group and the other (n = 7) as controlled group (waiting list). Participants were assessed using work stress scale that had been adapted from Abras (2012) research. The result showed that there was a significant difference in the implementation of posttest between the experimental and control group. By using mann whitney, the result concluded that emotion regulation training was significantly effective to reduce work stress of criminal policeman (Z = -2,006, p = 0,045, where p < (0,05).Key words : work stress, emotion regulation training

Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of psychological well-being in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus using group positive psychotherapy. Subjects in this study were 12 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (men and women) between the ages of 47-64 years, and divided into two groups, namely the experimental group and the control group. This study uses a scale of psychological well-being (22-item), which refers to the dimensions of psychological well-being by Ryff (1989). Quantitative data analysis using parametric analysis techniques one-way repeated measures anova to see the differences in psychological well-being of the experimental group after the subject therapy. The results show that there are differences in psychological well-being in the experimental group after therapy, with a value of Wilks' Lambda = 0.153, p = 0.00 (p <0.01). The conclusion from this study that the group positive psychotherapy can improve psychological well-being of people with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Key words: Group Positive Psychotherapy, Psychological Well Being, Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of goal setting training on students' motivation to learn Arabic. Participants were 26 students of class XI of SMA "X" Yogyakarta. They were grouping into 13 students as the experimental group and 13 students as a control group with pre-post control group design. Data were collected with Arabic learning motivation scale, interviews and observations. Result showed that both pretest-posttest (Z = -4359, P = 0.000, P <0.05) and pretest-follow up score on motivation to learn Arabic improve after treatment (Z = -2500, P = 0.012, P <0.05). Therefore goal setting training could enhance Arabic learning motivation. Keywords: Goal Setting Training, Arabic Learning Motivation, High School Student

Abstract

This experiment research aimed to examine the effect of Keajaiban Doa Islamic Training to improve emotional well-being of high school students in SMK “X” Yogyakarta. This research used non-randomized Pre and Posttest Control Group Design. Participants of this research were divided into two group, control and experiment groups. Keajaiban Doa Islamic Training was only gave to 14 respondents from experiment group and have identified as low emotional well-being score. They were asked to complete Simsek’s emotional well-being scale (Cronbach’s Alpha = 0,86) before and after experiment. The result showed significancy p=0.00 (p < 0.05) for the comparison level of g score on experiment and control respondents at pre and posttest.  It means that Keajaiban Doa Islamic Training could improved  emotional well-being  of  high  school students in SMK “X” Yogyakarta. Keywords: Emotional Well-Being,  Prayers,  Keajaiban  Doa  Islami, Training

Abstract

This research aims to observe how the emotion coaching training improve the skill of teachers on Education for Early-Age Children (known as PAUD). It uses the design of nonrandomized pretest-posttest control group design. Twelve teachers of PAUD were involved as the participants in this research and they were divided into two groups: 6 of those 12 teachers included in experimental and control group. The measurement tools used in this research were the scale of the skill of teacher response and observation on checklist behavior made by the researcher based upon the theory of Swartz and Mcelwain (2012).. The test of hypothesis used the Friedman analysis. The results of the research showed that the training of emotion coaching can improve the skill of teachers in responding the emotion of early age children before and after giving the training to the experiment group at (p = 0.002 where p< 0.05).
