Abstract

Support Vector Regression (SVR) is one of the machine learning methods. The concept of SVR is to maximize the hyperplane to obtain support vector data. In machine learning, there is an overfitting problem, namely the behavior of the data during the training phase produces almost perfect accuracy. The advantage of the SVR method is that it can produce good predictions because it is able to solve the overfitting problem. The Central Statistics Agency stated that Balikpapan City experienced natural disasters such as landslides and floods due to high rainfall. This study aims to obtain the best SVR model with a linear kernel in predicting rainfall in Balikpapan City. The data for this study are monthly data on rainfall in Balikpapan City from January 2014 to December 2023. The proportion of training data and testing data used is 60:40, 70:30, 80:20, and 90:10. The results of the study indicate that the best SVR model with a linear kernel is a model with a proportion of training data and testing data of 90:10 where the parameters used are ε = 0,9 and C = 128 with a support vector of 24 points and a bias value of 0.02818046. The results of the Balikpapan City rainfall prediction are quite good, indicated by the RMSE value of the training data of 0.159 and the RMSE value of the testing data of 0.150.

Abstract

The advancement of technology through digital media has influenced mosques in Indonesia, including the Great Mosque of Kudus located in Kudus, Central Java Province, Indonesia, in conducting digital-based da'wah. E-da'wah has become an effective method of disseminating Islamic teachings in today's era, particularly among the millennial generation. This study aims to examine the implementation of digital-based management (e-da'wah) at the Great Mosque of Kudus. The research employed a qualitative approach, with data collected through interviews, observations, documentation, and relevant literature. The findings reveal that the Great Mosque of Kudus conducts digital da'wah through live streaming on social media platforms such as YouTube and Facebook to make religious content more accessible to the public. The opportunities include attracting greater public participation in mosque development, enhancing the mosque’s visibility, and enabling the permanent dissemination of Islamic knowledge. However, the challenges involve the risk of content misuse by irresponsible individuals and the need for continuous innovation by utilizing the full features of digital platforms. These findings imply that mosque administrators should optimize digital-based management such as through websites and Instagram by actively involving Muslim youth in Kudus.

Abstract

Cayenne pepper (Capsicum frutescens L.) is a shrub plant of the Solanaceae family that is famous for its spicy taste and high demand in Indonesia. However, the growth of cayenne pepper plants requires optimal plant nutrients. One way to increase plant growth is through fertilization, either with organic fertilizer in the form of bean sprout extract (Vigna radiata L.) or the provision of Growth Regulators (ZPT) in the form of atonik. This study aims to determine the effect of bean sprout extract and atony on the growth of cayenne pepper, determine the most effective concentration of bean sprout extract and atony, and identify the interaction between the two. The research was conducted from February to April 2024 at the Botany Laboratory of FMIPA, University of Lampung, using a completely randomized design (CRD) with a factorial design. The first factor was the application of bean sprout extract with three concentrations (0%, 5%, and 10%), while the second factor was the application of atonic solution with two concentrations (0% and 10%). Each treatment was repeated five times, resulting in 30 experimental units. Parameters observed included plant height, root length, chlorophyll content, leaf visualization, fresh weight, dry weight, and relative water content. The data obtained were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Tukey's further test at the 5% level. The results showed that the application of 5% bean sprout extract and 0% atonik gave the best results in plant height, root length, and relative water content. The interaction between bean sprout extract and atony had an effect on the growth of cayenne pepper, but did not have a significant effect on chlorophyll content.

Abstract

Data mining is essential for decision-makers to analyze and extract insights from data efficiently. Classification is one of the data mining techniques used to organize data based on its features, helping to identify patterns and make predictions. This study evaluates Binary Logistic Regression (BLR), a type of generalized linear model that suitable for binary outcomes, for classifying poverty depth across Indonesian regencies/cities in 2022, with a focus on the impact of different K values in K-Fold Cross Validation. The dataset includes 514 regencies/cities, with the Poverty Depth Index as the target variable, categorized into high (1) and low (0) levels, using 11 predictor variables. K-Fold Cross Validation was performed with K values of 3, 5, and 10, using accuracy and Area Under Curve (AUC) as evaluation metrics. The mean accuracy values for BLR are 75.7% for K=3, 74.3% for K=5, and 75.1% for K=10. Results show that K=3 offers the highest accuracy in classifying poverty depth in Indonesia, with the lowest standard deviation of 0.03. However, K=10 demonstrates superior discriminative ability in BLR, reflected by a higher AUC value. This study highlights the significant influence of K values in K-Fold Cross Validation on BLR performance.
