Abstract

The observation's result at SMK Negeri 4 Kendal on students of the Freshwater Fisheries Agribusiness department and Water Quality and Pest Disease teachers has revealed that 89.1% of students found it difficult to find ectoparasites during practicum because of limited material samples, time, and also limited images of ectoparasites on commonly used teaching materials. The 2013 curriculum requires students to be able to learn from various learning sources, and teachers are required to be more creative in developing learning media. The observations are also made on fish breeders in the Muncul area of Semarang Regency. It is known that fish farmers do not understand fish ectoparasites, their symptoms and proper handling. Based on the results of these observations, the need for a media that can help students learn ectoparasites and a medium that can help fish farmers in overcoming ectoparasites in fish, so the Ectofishpedia is developed. Ectofishpedia is made based on ectoparasitic observations at BKIPM Semarang and literature studies. This study aims to determine the validity of Ectofishpedia, the feasibility of Ectofishpedia as a supplement for teaching materials, and the feasibility of Ectofishpedia for use by fish farmers. This study uses the R&D method by Sugiyono (2013). The validity assessment by material experts obtain a percentage score of 88.74%, and by media experts 98.75% with very valid criteria. The feasibility assessment by the teacher obtained a score score of 86.45% and 85.05% by students with very appropriate criteria. The feasibility assessment by fish farmers obtained a score of 83% with very appropriate criteria. The results of this study indicate that Ectofishpedia is valid and appropriate to use as a supplement for teaching materials for pest and disease materials and is suitable for use by fish farmers.

Abstract

The ability to think critically is needed in the 21st century so that students must have the ability to think critically.Withthese abilities, students are more able to master the concept of material, able to provide further explanation and provide alternative problem-solving so that students are expected to be able to solve problems in the environment in the future. This study aims to analyze the problem-based instruction model with effective video applied to senior high school 1 Mayong students on the ability to think critically and analyze the problem-based instruction model with video so that it can improve the critical thinking skills of senior high school 1 Mayong students. This study used pre-experimental design with one group pretest-posttest design. The sample of this study were students of class XI MIPA 3 and XI MIPA 4 Senior High School 1 Mayong which were determined using purposive sampling technique. The independent variable is a problem-based instruction model with an immune system video media. Dependent variables besides critical thinking skills are also conservation attitudes that are expected to arise during the learning process. The researcher collected the data using test questions and observation sheets. The results of data analysis showed that students' critical thinking skills reached 92.5% completeness. On average, every aspect of students' critical thinking skills are in critical and very critical criteria and the average conservation value of students is honest, creative and humanist in good, good and very good criteria. The average N-gain in both classes is included in the criteria of medium (0.69) and high (0.71). Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the problem-based instruction model with effective video is applied to senior high school 1 Mayong students towards critical thinking skills and problem-based instruction models with videos can improve the critical thinking skills of senior high school 1 Mayong students

Abstract

Problem based learning (PBL) with video can be the concept of student knowledge on immune system material. The PBL 2013 model is widely used in learning or curriculum, but implementation is rarely used in learning. Based on preliminary observation at SMA N 1, it is known that the absorption capacity of immune system is 21.91% at national exam is the lowest. This research on the effectiveness of problem-based learning models with videos on student learning results in cognitive, affective and psychomotor aspects. The research sample consists of three experimental classes. Data sources include students' cognitive learning outcomes (pretest-posttest), affective learning outcomes, psychomotor learning outcomes, teacher qualitative descriptive analysis (interview) and student responses with descriptive percentage analysis. Data were analyzed by using the cognitive learning outcomes (pretest-posttest) in experimental classes. The questionnaire of learning implementation shows that the PBL with video on the immune learning system has been done well. The calculation of the N-gain value, the experimental classes has been increased by 0.77 with the high category. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that the PBL model for students is effective in applying material to cognitive, affective and psychomotor learning outcomes of students in SMA N 1 Semarang.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of the school environment-based inquiry model in the ecosystem material towards critical thinking ability and environmental caring attitude of high school students. This study uses Pre-Experiment Design with research design of One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The sample of this study was grade X IPA 5 and X IPA 6 SMA Negeri 1 Slawi. The results of this study indicate that the result of the N-gain test of critical thinking ability and the attitude of caring for the environment is in the medium category. The result of classical learning completeness reach 100% of students complete. Students' critical thinking ability shows 100% of students meet critical and very critical criteria. The environmental caring attitude of the students shows that 100% of students fulfill the criteria of care and absolutely care. Students’ responses to learning show good criteria in each statement. Conclusion in this study is that the school environment-based inquiry model in the ecosystem material is effective towards critical thinking ability and environmental caring attitude of grade X students of SMA Negeri 1 Slawi.
