Abstract

Introduction: Hypertension is the leading cause of death worldwide. People with hypertension often receive health education about their health but cannot implement it. Patients with hypertension must be responsible for self-management related to the level of a person's health literacy, such as efforts that should they take so that the illness they suffer from is not getting worse. The aim of this study is to determine the factors related to the level of health literacy in hypertensive patients. Methods: Search for articles and journals conducted in the last ten years, from 2010-2020 and published on the internet using Scopus, Science Direct, ProQuest, Pubmed, Google Scholar, Portal Garuda, and SINTA by using chosen keyword adjusted to the Medical Subject Heading (MeSH) and Indonesian Thesaurus, namely, "factors", "health literacy", " After analysis and tabulation from some of the articles and journals, there are several factors related to the level of health literacy in hypertensive patients such as, education, age, job, income, knowledge, acculturation, self-management efficacy, HBPM (Home Blood Pressure Measurement), regular use of medicine, systolic blood pressure, health service access, health information access, and social support. Results: There are several factors related to the level of health literacy in patients with hypertension after analyzing journals or articles .. This study is expected to increase knowledge for nurses about the level of health literacy of hypertensive patients. acculturation, self-management efficacy, HBPM (Home Blood Pressure Measurement), regular use of medicine, systolic blood pressure, health service access, health information access, and social support. Discussion: There are several factors related to the level of health literacy in patients with hypertension after analyzing journals or articles .. This study is expected to increase knowledge for nurses about the level of health literacy of hypertensive patients. acculturation, self-management efficacy, HBPM (Home Blood Pressure Measurement), regular use of medicine, systolic blood pressure, health service access, health information access, and social support. Conclusion: There are several factors related to the level of health literacy in patients with hypertension after analyzing journals or articles. Abstract

Introduction: One of the complications of stroke patients receiving intravenous therapy is mechanical phlebitis. The purpose of this study was to analyze the differences characteristic of stroke patients who experienced mechanical phlebitisMethods: This study was used a comparative descriptive method with a documentation study design. The subjects of this study were stroke patients who experienced mechanical phlebitis from January 2018 until September 2020. The sampling method used total sampling with 92 samples. Data analysis using Chi-squared test. Results: Gender (p = 0.020) had a significant difference with the incidence of mechanical phlebitis in stroke patients. Characteristics of age (p=0.511), history of hypertension (p=0.058), diabetes mellitus (p=0.503), pneumonia (p=0.164), and stroke (p= 0.160) did not have a significant difference with the incidence of mechanical phlebitis in stroke patients. Conclusion: There are differences in gender characteristics in stroke patients who experience mechanical phlebitis.

Abstract

Introduction: The quality of life of patients with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) who got hemodialysis had decreased along with the increasing level of the disease, which caused problems of patient productivity. During the pandemic, hemodialysis patients were at very high risk of exposure to covid-19, it was very important to implement New Normal Adaptation to reduce morbidity and mortality. The purpose of this study was to explain the relationship between New Normal Adaptation and the life quality of hemodialysis patients during the pandemic of COVID-19 at Lamongan Muhammadiyah Hospital. Methods: This study used a correlation design, by simple random sampling technique, the population was 85 respondents. The samples were 70 respondents in the Hemodialysis room at Lamongan Muhammadiyah Hospital which was in the inclusion criteria. The data that was collected included respondent characteristics, New Normal Adaptation, and quality of life, the data collection used the Google questionnaire form, then it was analyzed using the Spearman test.  Results: Some of the respondents were treated as new normal in the moderate category, most of the respondents had life quality in the bad category and there was a relationship between New Normal Adaptation with the life quality of hemodialysis patients, the significant value was = 0.303 and p = 0.011. Conclusion: During the pandemic, health education activities for hemodialysis patients could use social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Whatsapp) that would increase New Normal Adaptation at home and in the hospital. So that, the quality of the patient's life would be good.

Abstract

Introduction: Acute Decompensated Heart Failure (ADHF) is a sudden worsening of heart failure symptoms. In 2019, WHO reported 17.9 million deaths worldwide from heart disease, with ADHF affecting 1.5% of Indonesia’s population. Shortness of breath is the most common symptom, occurring in 80% of hospitalized ADHF patients. Deep Diaphragmatic Breathing can help improve breathing by strengthening the diaphragm. This case study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of Deep Diaphragmatic Breathing in improving respiratory status in patients with Acute Decompensated Heart Failure (ADHF).   Objective: This research used a descriptive case study design with a single case study approach 7 days, assessing and evaluating the effects of Deep Diaphragmatic Breathing exercises to reduces ineffective breathing patterns in Acute Decompensated Heart Failure. Data collection through interviews, observation, measurement, physical examination, and medical records.  Case: A 46-year-old patient with Acute Decompensated Heart Failure (ADHF) was admitted with shortness of breath, nausea, vomiting, and loss of appetite for one day. On examination, the patient was conscious (GCS 456), BP 95/66 mmHg, temperature 36.2°C, pulse 68/min, RR 22/min, SpO₂ 98% (with nasal cannula), weight 60 kg, and height 167 cm. The main complaint was dyspnea, especially when lying down, with wheezing and irregular breathing. Blood test (B2) showed weak palpable pulse, warm moist extremities, and transient chest pain. Nursing care included respiratory monitoring, deep diaphragmatic breathing, and positioning in Fowler or semi-Fowler. By day 6, breathing improved (RR 18/min, SpO₂ 99%) without oxygen support. Conclusion: Deep Diaphragmatic Breathing reduced ineffective breathing patterns in ADHF patients. Future research should involve larger sample sizes and explore long-term outcomes to strengthen evidence for its clinical application.
