Abstract

PT Omni Electrindo is a distributor of electrical components located at Jalan Sidodadi Timur No.22 Semarang still finds many problems in managing employee work absences. Attendance is still managed using Microsoft Excel and data is retrieved manually. At the beginning of 2020 there was an outbreak of the 2019 Coronavirus (Covid-19) which shook the world community, so the government issued a policy of limiting activities outside the home. In accordance with government policy, PT Omni Electrindo carries out work from home in turns. Based on this background, the researcher created an employee attendance system using geolocation and webcam methods in the HRIS application and using a prototype method which is expected to assist personnel in managing employee attendance data who work from home. In the system testing process, the results of the performance test were obtained with a score of B (74%) and resulted in a percentage of the results of the user questionnaire with 22% of respondents from a total of 60 employees at PT Omni, namely 91% of respondents choosing very good and 9% choosing good. Based on the test results obtained, the attendance recording process which previously took 20-30 minutes, now only takes 5 minutes. With this employee attendance system, it is expected to be able to assist the personnel and employees in the attendance process quickly and accurately.

Abstract

The Forward Chaining method is used in developing an expert system to diagnose photocopier damage. This system aims to help technicians or non-technical users identify and repair problems that occur with photocopiers. The system collects information about symptoms or signs associated with damage to the photocopier. This information is then used to check existing rules in the knowledge base. The system sequentially checks these rules and matches the conditions to the symptoms observed on the copier. Therefore, this research aims to implement the forward chaining method in a website-based Canon IRA 4251/6275 photocopier damage expert system as a solution to help technicians so that they do not need to come to the customer's place to repair the photocopier, because customers can repair damage to their photocopier accordingly. The directions from the expert system application are useful for reducing costs by 70% for calling a photocopy technician. These results were obtained from the user questionnaire answers that this application was very helpful. The research method used is the case study method, by collecting data through interviews and observation. And the development method here uses the prototype method. This expert system application uses the CodeIgniter framework and uses a MySQL database. The application for implementing forward chaining on the website-based Canon IRA 4251/6275 photocopier damage expert system is expected to help customers solve problems related to damage to photocopiers and reduce customer costs for servicing photocopiers.

Abstract

Computer laboratory is an important aspect of supporting the learning process at the Politeknik Kesehatan Kemenkes Semarang. However, manual laboratory management is currently inefficient and prone to errors that can reduce the effectiveness of laboratory use by up to 30% and have a direct impact on the quality of learning. Primary data collected includes laboratory specifications such as the availability of 165 computer units, adequate printers for printing needs, internet networks, and additional tools to support practicums. The laboratory is also supported by technical and admin staff who are responsible for the operation and maintenance of equipment and are equipped with a data management system to help smooth activities. To overcome these management problems, this study implemented a website-based laboratory management system using the Prototype method which is designed to simplify the administration process with centralized management, increase management efficiency, and reduce administrative errors. The system implementation test using the Black Box method obtained 100% functional system results running well. The results of the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) analysis obtained a value of 90.6% which indicates that the developed system can overcome existing problems. Further development is expected to improve the quality of laboratory services and expand the use of information technology in education management at the Politeknik Kesehatan Kemenkes Semarang.
