Abstract

In Islamic education, perennialism philosophy is a tradition that emphasizes the values of eternal and supernatural truths. This school emphasizes the importance of developing students' character through holistic and cyclical application of values. The goal of this development is to form insan kamil, or whole human beings, who possess truth and goodness. Perennialism, which comes from the Latin word "perennis", meaning eternal or immortal, places the highest truth values derived from God in education. According to perennialism, the main goal of education is to gain possession of principles about reality, truth, and value that are not limited to time or place. Perennialism in Islamic education has many important aspects. First, the perennialism approach sees students as rational humans who have potential (fitrah) that needs to be mobilized. Educators have the main role in organizing learning activities and helping students. Second, perennialism theology emphasizes the importance of mental and intellectual exercises to find the real truth. Education must seek ways to acquire consistent and consistent knowledge, so the educational process must be the same and in accordance with the truth. Perennialism argues that the Islamic education curriculum should be centered on eternal truth values and should include material that can shape the student's personality so that it is in accordance with the goals of the educator.

Islamic education is viewed as a holistic effort encompassing the development of spiritual, intellectual, and moral dimensions. The process of shaping a Muslim personality begins with tazkiyah al-nafs (purification of the soul) to build character rooted in noble morals. Factors such as the family environment, formal education, and social culture contribute to personality formation. This article also highlights the role of Islamic education in creating human resources that are not only professionally competent but also possess strong moral integrity. In the era of globalization, Islamic education serves as a foundation to produce individuals capable of addressing contemporary challenges while adhering to Islamic values. The article emphasizes the importance of a value-based educational approach that integrates faith, knowledge, and practice as an effort to realize quality human resources within the context of both worldly and spiritual life

Abstract

This research discusses the importance of understanding students' learning styles as a key to personalizing education. Learning styles, which can be divided into three main categories: visual, auditory and kinesthetic, affect the way students absorb and understand information. Students with visual learning styles find it easier to understand material through vision, auditory students are more effective in learning through their hearing, while students with kinesthetic learning styles are more prominent in physical activities and hands-on interactions. This research emphasizes the need for educators to recognize and adapt teaching methods to students' learning preferences to improve engagement, motivation and academic outcomes. It also discusses the challenges in implementing personalized learning, such as the difficulty in identifying the right learning style and the risk of over-focusing on a particular learning style. The method in this research uses literature review by analyzing existing data regarding learning styles and their implications for personalized learning. Thus, this research is expected to provide insights for educators in designing teaching strategies that are more effective and responsive to students' individual needs

Abstract

This study aims to explore the application of behavioristic theory in education and identify its challenges and effectiveness in improving student learning outcomes. Behavioristic theory, which focuses on the relationship between stimulus and response, explains that individual behavior can be modified through positive and negative reinforcement. Using a qualitative method with a case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews and classroom observations. The results indicate that while this theory is effective in shaping desired behaviors, there are challenges related to neglecting internal factors such as students' emotions and motivation. This research recommends integrating positive aspects of behavioristic theory with a more holistic approach to meet students' emotional and social needs

Abstract

Essentialism in educational philosophy emphasizes the importance of preserving cultural values and knowledge that have stood the test of time. This philosophical approach focuses on shaping individuals who can positively contribute to society through mastery of essential foundational knowledge. This article explores the core principles of essentialism, including cultural preservation, adaptation to natural laws, and the development of intelligence and character. In the educational context, essentialism stresses the need for a systematic and disciplined curriculum designed to encompass knowledge relevant to everyday life. Essentialist education also aims to shape students' character, enhance their intellectual capacities, and ensure that stable traditional values are upheld. Additionally, essentialism emerged as a critique of progressive education, which is seen as overly flexible and unstable. Essentialists argue that progressive education often neglects the importance of time-tested traditional values. By focusing on these values, essentialist education seeks to create stability and clarity within society. This article also discusses how essentialist education can be applied in modern contexts to achieve these goals and provides insights into the role of essentialism in maintaining social and cultural stability. Through this study, a deeper understanding of the relevance of essentialism in contemporary educational systems is expected

Abstract

This study discusses cognitive theory as one of the major schools in educational psychology and its implications for Arabic language learning. Cognitive theory emerged as a response to the limitations of behaviorism, emphasizing that learning is an internal process involving mental activities such as thinking, understanding, and problem-solving. Key figures such as Jean Piaget, Jerome Bruner, and Lev Vygotsky made significant contributions to the development of this theory through the concepts of cognitive development, discovery learning, and social interaction in learning. This study also integrates information processing and constructivism approaches as further developments of the cognitive school. The relevance of this theory to Arabic language learning lies in the need for active learning strategies, the use of symbolic and visual media, and the strengthening of social interaction in the language acquisition process. The discussion is supported by reflection on the Qur’anic verse QS. Al-‘Alaq: 1–5, which emphasizes the importance of reading, writing, and building knowledge gradually. This study concludes that the cognitive approach supports more meaningful, active, and contextual Arabic language learning.

Abstract

This article aims to examine the cognitive theory of learning, which emphasizes that learning is an active process in which individuals process information, build understanding, and develop thinking skills. This theory states that learning is not just about receiving information, but also how the information is processed and organized in the mind, emphasizing understanding, connecting concepts, and their application in different situations. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method, identifying sources of information through articles, journals, and relevant literature. The results of the study indicate that cognitive theory emphasizes the importance of learning experiences that stimulate students' thinking, as well as the need to understand the differences in how students think and those of adults. This article also discusses figures who have contributed to cognitive theory.

Abstract

The initial ability of students is an important foundation in the learning process, because it determines the extent to which they can understand the material being taught. All students have initial abilities, which are the abilities they already have before they acquire certain terminal abilities. Initial ability indicates the current status of students' knowledge and skills towards the future status that the teacher wants students to achieve. To analyze students' initial abilities, at least an educator can identify learners' initial abilities by using techniques to detect initial abilities. Identifying learners' initial abilities allows teachers to design learning strategies that suit individual needs, so that learning can take place more effectively. In addition, educators can know well the different learning styles of students. Identifying students' initial abilities is an important step in the learning process. This article discusses four important indicators that educators can use to determine their students' initial skills. Initial skills are students' current level of knowledge and skills to achieve the future status that educators expect from students. Initial skills are the abilities that students already have before they acquire new final abilities. students who have equal initial skills can be brilliant or terrible at a subject, depending on their love or hate for that subject.
