Kata Kunci: presepsi; petani; milenial There is a lack of interest from the younger generation in the agricultural sector, so this research aims to determine the perceptions, interests, and factors that influence the younger generation to become millennial farmers. This research is descriptive, with a qualitative approach. The research location was determined purposefully in Waesamu Village, West Kairatu District, West Seram Regency. Data collection methods are observation, interviews, documentation, and recording. Data analysis methods include data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. It was found that the younger generation of Waesamu Village perceives farming as a job that is less prestigious and has inappropriate results; on the other hand, it is considered a noble job but is quite hard and is related to dirty work. Of the 30 young generation respondents, only 8 were interested in becoming farmers, and 22 others were not interested. This was influenced by several factors, including the social environment, education, and the pressure of daily living needs because the young generation did not have the experience and skills to farm. One of the influencing factors is information outside the village, which makes the young generation of Waesamu Village less interested in becoming farmers, and also peer interactions, where one invites another to leave the village so that the younger generation of Waesamu Village is more interested in working in other sectors. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the socio-economic characteristics of coconut farmers and the factors influencing coconut farming productivity in Labuang Village, Namrole District, South Buru Regency. The research was conducted over one month using a descriptive qualitative method with a census approach, where all 30 coconut farmers in the village were selected as respondents. The research location was determined purposively, as Labuang Village has the largest coconut plantation area in the district. Data were collected through interviews using questionnaires and secondary data from relevant agencies. The results showed that most farmers had 10–20 years of farming experience, elementary school education, more than four dependents, and cultivated land areas ranging from 0.5 to 1.28 hectares with production volumes of 400–800 kg. Productivity was calculated based on yield per hectare, and the influencing factors were analyzed using a regression function. The findings indicated that social, economic, and sustainability factors contributed to productivity, with respective scores of 8–9, 11–12, and 9–11. Farmers’ income ranged between Rp. 5,000,000 and Rp. 12,000,000.
