Abstract

The present research aimed to describe the skills of 11th grade students in predicting reaction rate material. The need for this study arose due to the inadequacy of the teacher's assessments to elaborate on the students' predictive skills, particularly in reaction rate material. The participants were 26 students from the 11th grade Science-2 class of State Senior High School (SMAN) 5 Pontianak. A quantitative description with a case study approach was used to gather data. The students were administered a questionnaire immediately after the reaction rate lesson, consisting of three questions. The mean scores of the students were analyzed to determine the results. The results showed that 50% of the students were categorized as having a very low level of skill in predicting reaction rate material, 27% as having a low level, 19% as having a medium level, 4% as having a high level, and 0% as having a very high level. It can be concluded that the majority of the students have a very low level of skill in predicting reaction rate material. The findings of this study have implications for teachers in creating more suitable lesson plans, syllabi, and media to align with the students' standard of competency outlined in the curriculum. This study may also serve as a foundation for future research on knowledge and education sustainability.

Abstract

Water pollution is a scientific study of environmental chemistry on the sources, impacts and fate of chemicals in the aquatic environment, as well as the effects of human activities on them. As a student, you are required to have broad insight and knowledge, especially in dealing with environmental problems in society, by creating a caring character of the environment and finding solutions as an effort to overcome these problems. The purpose of this study is to produce educational materials in the form of additional e-books about water pollution, raising real problems that exist in the surrounding community. In addition, feasibility test and student responses were also measured against the Electronic Supplement on Water Pollution Equipment. The method employed in this study is R&D with the ADDIE model. Research data were collected through speaker and student interviews, due diligence questionnaires and student response questionnaires. The results of the feasibility test conducted by the expert validator on the Electronic Supplementary Book on Water Pollution Material show that the feasibility test for material, language and graphics is 1.00 with a very high validity category. The results of student responses to the Electronic Supplement Book on Water Pollution Material in the limited trial produced a percentage of 86% in the very good category and field trials produced a percentage of 93%.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the countries with low PISA (Program for International Students Assessment) achievement levels based on survey results due to the low level of higher order thinking skill of students. The causes of the low level of higher order thinking of students in Indonesia include the question given have not met the criteria of HOTS questions and the lack of ability of educations in making Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) questions. This study was conducted to determine the feasibility of HOTS e-questions. The aim of developing higher-order thinking Skill (HOTS) questions in electronic form in the conditions of transition from pandemic to endemic now is so that they are easily accessible to students anywhere and at any time. The method used in this research is research and development (R&D) with ADDIE model which has 4 stages, namely: Analysis; at this stage, needs analysis and performance analysis are carried out, Design; at this stage, the process of designing or creating learning tools occurs, Development; at this stage, learning tools are developed and validated from previously selected learning sources, Implementation, and Evaluation. The form of questions that have been developed consists of multiple choice and eesay questions and scring guidelines. The overall validation results of the HOTS e-questions amounted to 94.47% with very feasible criteria. Based on the validation results, HOTS e-questions on additive are suitable for use in learning activities and are tested during science subjects at school.

Abstract

This study aims to categorize the level of difficulty of the questions and describe the cognitive level of the KKO indicators of the 2021/2022 year-end assessment (PAT) of chemistry class XI MIPA at SMAN 8 Pontianak. This research is quantitative descriptive. Data collection techniques were interviews and documentation. Documentation was obtained from chemistry teachers through google forms containing answers and PAT questions. The research subjects amounted to 150 students of class XI MIPA who had taken the End of Year Assessment. The results of the research obtained are difficult categories totaling 4 questions (13.3%), moderate 10 questions (33.3%) and easy 16 questions (53.4%). The results of the analysis obtained in order to improve the distribution of the difficulty level of questions in the future.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of eligibility of worksheets for natural indicators of acid-base 11th grade Senior High School (SMA/MA) students in even semester. The population used in this study is a population sample consisting of six validators consisting of two content validator validators, two linguistic validator validators, and two graphic feasibility validators. Data collection instruments used were content eligibility questionnaire, linguistic feasibility questionnaire, and graphic eligibility questionnaire. The data analysis technique used is Gregory. Results Processing data in terms of content eligibility has a validity of 1 so that it has a very high level of content eligibility. For language eligibility, continued validity is obtained at 1 so that the level of language eligibility is also very high. However, the validity of the worthiness of the graphic is only 0.5 so that the level of feasibility of the graphic is still categorized as moderate. Thus, it can be concluded that LKPD of the natural indicators of acid-base for 11th grade students in even semester is feasible to be used in the learning process with very high criteria for content and linguistic aspects and moderate categories for graphic aspects.

Abstract

This study aimed to assess the validity of a local-issue-based coconut shell briquette e-supplement developed for an environmental chemistry course, as well as to evaluate student responses to the material. Utilizing the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model and a descriptive quantitative approach, the study measured both expert evaluations and learner perceptions. The e-supplement was reviewed by two content experts, two linguistic experts, and two media experts, and was tested by ten students enrolled in the Chemistry Education program at FKIP UNTAN. Data were collected through a combination of direct and indirect communication techniques, along with measurement instruments including validity assessment sheets and response questionnaires. The findings revealed that the e-supplement achieved a validity score of 81.25% in material quality, 87.50% in linguistic clarity, and 94.44% in media presentation. Additionally, student responses indicated a high level of approval, with a 91.5% positive rating. Based on these results, the e-supplement is considered suitable for implementation in environmental chemistry education, and it shows promising potential to support contextual learning and contribute to Education for Sustainable Development (ESD).
