Abstract

Peristiwa semburan lumpur panas di lokasi pengeboran PT. Lapindo Brantas di Desa Renokenongo, Kecamatan Porong, Kabupaten Sidoarjo, Jawa Timur, terjadi sejak 27 Mei 2006. Semburan lumpur ini membawa dampak yang luar biasa bagi masyarakat sekitar maupun bagi aktivitas perekonomian di Jawa Timur. Salah satu skenario penanganan teknis untuk menghentikan semburan lumpur panas adalah dengan membuang langsung lumpur panas tersebut ke Selat Madura melalui Kali Porong. Usaha ini diindikasikan membawa perubahan terhadap Suhu Permukaan Laut (SPL) di sekitar Muara Kali Porong dan Selat Madura. Pada penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kecenderungan SPL di sekitar Muara Kali Porong dan Selat Madura sebelum dan setelah pembuangan lumpur panas ke Kali Porong, dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknologi penginderaan jauh. Citra satelit yang digunakan untuk melakukan monitoring SPL adalah citra ASTER (Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer) multitemporal tahun 2005, 2006,2007 dan 2008. Nilai SPL yang diperoleh pada penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan algoritma Kishino. Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan data citra ASTER dan pengamatan langsung di lapangan terdapat adanya perbedaan nilai SPL. Perbedaan ini disebabkan oleh perbedaan kondisi saat pencitraan dan pada saat pengambilan data lapangan. Pada penelitian ini juga dapat diketahui bahwa perubahan SPL dari citra ASTER yang terjadi pada saat sebelum dan sesudah lumpur panas dibuang melalui Kali Porong terjadi secara  tidak konsisten. Hal ini disebabkan adanya perbedaan kondisi cuaca pada saat dilakukannya proses pencitraan pada masing-masing citra.

Abstract

Pengembangan teknologi penginderaan jauh telah menyediakan banyak pilihan citra beresolusi tinggi. Sebagai citra beresolusi tinggi, ALOS PRISM dan FORMOSAT-2 dapat digunakan untuk memperbaharui peta yang sudah ada selama ketelitian dan hasil yang diperoleh memenuhi ketentuan yang disyaratkan. Penelitian mengenai kemampuan keduanya dalam mengukur luasan bidang tanah memungkinkan pembuatan peta-peta skala besar dari citra satelit ini. Dalam penelitian ini, citra ALOS PRISM dan FORMOSAT-2 dipotong, lalu dikoreksi geometrik menggunakan metode polinomial orde kedua dengan 7 GCP. Sampel bidang tanah pada citra diukur untuk mendapatkan data panjang dan luas. Uji t dilakukan pada hasil pengukuran menggunakan derajat kepercayaan 5%. Kemudian hasilnya dibandingkan dengan data bidang tanah BPN untuk mendapatkan nilai ketelitian dan akurasinya. Berdasarkan hasil koreksi geometrik, diperoleh RMSE sebesar 0,619 untuk ALOS PRISM dan 0,354 untuk FORMOSAT-2. Selain itu, diperoleh standar deviasi 0,590 untuk ALOS PRISM dan 0,522 untuk FORMOSAT-2. Persentase perbedaan luas antara pengukuran pada data acuan dengan hasil dijitasi sampel pada citra adalah sebesar 1,83% untuk FORMOSAT-2 dan 4,01% untuk ALOS PRISM. Dari penelitian ini, disimpulkan bahwa citra FORMOSAT-2 mempunyai ketelitian dan akurasi posisi yang lebih baik daripada citra ALOS PRISM. Untuk cakupan wilayah yang sempit FORMOSAT-2 lebih efektif digunakan karena ketelitian dan akurasinya lebih baik daripada ALOS PRISM. Untuk cakupan wilayah yang luas, citra ALOS PRISM lebih efisien digunakan karena lebih murah dengan ketelitian dan akurasi yang relatif sama dengan citra FORMOSAT-2.

Abstract

Suhu permukaan laut (SPL) merupakan salah satu faktor penentu kualitas suatu perairan. Suhu mempengaruhi aktivitas metabolisme dan perkembangbiakan organisme di lautan.   Pemantauan gejala perubahan suhu secara berkala diperlukan dalam melakukan analisa pola sebaran SPL. Analisa tersebut menggunakan citra satelit AQUA MODIS. Pengamatan suhu dapat digambarkan dengan baik oleh kanal 20, 31 dan 32 citra AQUA MODIS.   Algoritma yang digunakan adalah algoritma Brown dan Minnet, 1999 (ATBD_25) untuk mendapatkan nilai SPL. Dari hasil pengolahan data dan analisa didapatkan bahwa SPL rata – rata tahun 2010 sebesar 22,93 C. Uji validasi dilakukan  yang dilakukan bernilai 70,9%, yang menunjukkan SPL pengolahan citra mempresentasikan kondisi sesungguhnya. Data hasil analisis dapat dijadikan sebagai bahan referensi penelitian selanjutnya.

Abstract

Sea Surface Temperature (SST) is an important parameter used to determine the quality of water. Many factors could affect the up tide or low tide of SST in a waters. That factors could be observed by comparing the SST in a waters for certain period. Madura Strait which is the estuary for large and small rivers have a SST that changes every season. The pattern of SST changes can be observed by using multi-temporal image. In this study used Terra / MODIS satellite images with 1 km of spatial resolution, so as to provide information on the distribution pattern of SPL in the Madura Strait region. The value of SST obtained from image processing by Brown and Minnet(1999) algoritm. To obtain the temperature value is used bands of 20, 31, and 32 which must be converted into brightness temperature.To get this SST pattern used in image data of Terra / MODIS for six years, from 2005 until 2010. The SST pattern results are the monthly and annual patterns. The results of data processing in the month that same with the month of groundtruth showed that R2= 71.91%. It means that imagery data could showed groundtruth data about 71.91%. Results of data processing for six years showed that the monthly pattern, the highest SST occurred in October, which the results of image processing is 33.87°C. The annual pattern shows that each year varies. The factors that cause SST changes are sunlight intensity, rainfall, and wind.

Abstract

Total Suspended Solid (TSS) dan Chl-a merupakan beberapa parameter penentu kualitas air. Konsentrasi Total Suspended Solid yang tinggi dan konsentrasi Chl-a yang sedikit mengganggu proses fotosintesis perairan, kehidupan biota laut, dan pada pertumbuhan populasi fitoplankton yang membentuk dasar dari rantai makanan laut dan merupakan sumber utama oksigen atmosfer. Beberapa metode dapat digunakan untuk memantau perubahan persebaran TSS dan Chl-a yang terjadi di wilayah tersebut, salah satunya menggunakan teknologi penginderaan jauh. Metode penginderaan jauh merupakan metode akuisisi data menggunakan satelit.Didalam metode penginderaan jauh tersebut, dibutuhkan algoritma-algoritma estimasi TSS dan Chl-a yang akurat dalam mengestimasi nilai TSS dan Chl-a. Satelit penginderaan jauh yang digunakan adalah Satelit Aqua Modis dan Sateit Terra Modis. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk validasi beberapa algoritma yang telah ada dengan data in situ. Algoritma yang divalidasi dalam penelitian ini adalah agoritma yang telah tersedia di dalam perangkat lunak Seadas. Dari hasil penelitian ini, didapat bahwa algoritma yang tersedia di dalam perangkat lunak Seadas belum akurat untuk melakukan perhitungan estimasi TSS dan Chl-a.

Abstract

The rising temperature of Andaman Sea in May 2010 causing many Indonesia’s waters experienced 4°C temperature rise. This phenomena triggers coral bleaching in many Indonesia’s coastal area, one of them is Probolinggo beach. Probolinggo beach is a beach with very fascinating coral reefs, one of them is located near Paiton Power Plant area. Paiton plant unit is a power plant that is owned by PT. PJB which used to supply almost three of fourth part of the electricity in Java and Bali. PLTU Paiton is established at the seaside of Probolinggo beach, which has a coolant circulation system located adjacent to the sea. Coral bleaching mapping with remote sensing method with in situ data was used to detect the extent of areas experiencing coral bleaching. WorldView-2 Satellite Imagery was used with the processing performed on the blue bands and green bands which has the depth of water penetration. Water column correction is done to eliminate the effect of depth. Supervision classification is performed to get the alleged spot of coral bleaching. Classification results showed that the total area of the bleached corals from the five-point field observations with area of each point is 100m^2 is ± 726 m^2.The coral bleaching phenomenon in Paiton’s Power Plant coastal waters is caused by two main factors, the former is the rise of sea surface temperatures and the latter is the activity of Paiton itself. Dredging activities for the construction of new generating units and water discharge processing activities plant added the negative effect for the bleaching, aside from rising sea surface temperatures of ± 4° C.

Abstract

Lake Sentani is one of fifteen Indonesian National Priority Lakes. In the Jurnal Biologi Papua, Surbakti (2011) said that Lake Sentani is an euthropic lake. MEdium Resolution Imaging Spectrometer (MERIS) is one of a few sensors at Envisat Satellite which is used to monitor water-quality conditions. At BEAM VISAT, MERIS image can be processed using 3 algorithms to extract water-quality. Those algorithms are Case-2 Water Processor (C2WP) Euthropic Lakes, Case-2 Water Processor (C2WP) Boureal Lakes, and Regional Water Processor Water Processor (WP). In this research, we compared the performance of C2WP Boureal and Regional WP on extracting Total Suspended Solid (TSS) data. Extracting TSS data using C2WP Euthropic were used as data validation because Lake Sentani was an euthropic lake.

Abstract

Sea level rise was one thing that can threaten human life, especially those living coastal region. Not only the coastal areas threatened by sea level rise but small islands outermost region of Indonesia also threatened by sea level rise and almost lost due to sea level continued to rise from year to year. On the island of Java in particular, there are several cities that are experiencing serious problems of sea level rise call Jakarta, Semarang, Pekalongan, Tuban and Surabaya. Sea level rise that occurred in cities is caused by rising global temperatures resulting in melting glaciers and ice there dikutub, consequently the volume of water in the sea increased dramatically and lead to sea level rise. It is also exacerbated by the rate of decline in soil is very high, namely the city of Semarang, the rate of decline in soil between 8-13 cm / year. So it is very threatening to the survival of people living in coastal areas, therefore the observation of sea level rise should continue to be observed annually. One of the emerging technologies and widely used for observing the sea level rise that satellite altimetry. In this study used satellite altimetry Jason-1 to observe the rate of sea level rise in the region Semarang in 2009 to 2011 to obtain prediction with mathematical methods to determine the annual rate for the next year. On this study, large sea level rise semarang is 12.83 mm / year.

Abstract

Lombok southern sea has a high marine productivity which signifies fertility of a body water. Chl-a is one of the factors associated with fertility in the Lombok southern sea. Remote sensing can be used for mapping the distribution of Chl-a more efficient and accurate to extract the physical parameters of the water. Physical parameters accuracy is derived from remote sensing data depending on atmospheric correction algorithms and algorithms model to calculate the concentration of Chl-a.In this study, Landsat 8 was used to validate the existing estimation concentration algorithm of Chl-a by in-situ data collected in Lombok southern sea. Atmospheric corrected reflectance by 6SV and Flaash, as well as surface reflectance product from USGS were used as input of that algorithm. The algorithm with 6SV-reflectance produced highest accuracy with NMAE of 26.095%.Instead of using existing algorithm, a new algorithm following local characteristics of Lombok southern sea was developed. The developed algorithm based on log Rrs( 4) and log (Rrs ( 5)) produced high  correlation (R2 = 0.551). Chl-a concentration estimation from Landsat 8 data, through atmospheric correction of 6SV produced NMAEof 13.484%.

Abstract

Cromileptes Altivelis is one kind of exported fish commodities which are common in some areas of Indonesia. It cultured using Keramba Jaring Apung (KJA). Lampung Bay is one of the waters area that have potential as a location for the cultivation of those fishs. Determination of location for Cromileptes Altivelis aquaculture activities has strongly influenced by the quality of water because it affects the metabolism of fish growth. Described in the Standar Nasional Indonesia (SNI) 6487.4:2011 on Enlargement Production Cromileptes Altivelis in Keramba Jaring Apung (KJA) where the salinity, sea surface temperature, and pH are the important parameters that can affect the quality of sea water. In this research, the method that used to determine the location of CromileptesAltivelis aquaculture was remote sensing using Landsat-8 satellite imagery. This was because the Landsat-8 could work at visible wave (visible spectrum) where there are channels that can be used to extract quality parameters of ocean water. In determining the concentration of sea water quality parameters, this research used Son, et al algorithm and Syariz, et al algorithm to determine the value of salinity and sea surface temperature.Condition of water quality parameters in the Bay of Lampung was quite in accordance with the limit values listed in SNI 6487.4:2011 to be location of CromileptesAltivelis. Dominance value of sea surface temperature distribution was 26.05-30.05 C, dominance value of salinity distribution was 31.40-39.25 psu, and dominance value of pH distribution was 7.00–13.99. Based on the analysis of sea water quality parameters in Lampung Bay, territorial waters obtained 85.171,76 ha area corresponding to the location of Cromileptes Altivelis aquaculture.
