Abstract

A balanced intake of nutrients is needed to meet the body's needs. Vegetables and fruits are foods that are rich in vitamins and minerals. The content of nutrients in vegetables and fruit benefits the health, development and growth of a person's body. The population in Karawang Regency is only about 0.96 who consume more than 5 vegetables and fruits per day a week. This is due to lack of knowledge about vegetables and fruits. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of nutrition counseling using booklets and animated videos on knowledge about vegetables and fruits in junior high school adolescents. This study uses a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test¬ and post-test group design. The subjects of the study were junior high school teenagers aged 12-15 years, totaling 40 people with 2 intervention groups who received education through booklets and animated videos. The results showed that the value of knowledge before and after the intervention with the booklet group before 78.00 increased to 108.50 and for the video animation group before 74.50 it increased to 98.00. The conclusion is that there is an effect of education using booklets and animated videos about vegetables and fruit on the knowledge of junior high school students.

Abstract

Efforts to manage diabetes mellitus do not only focus on the management and control of the disease, but must also focus on efforts to prevent it. One way to control diabetes can be done by providing education about risk factors for diabetes mellitus. There are various types of media that can be used in health education to maximize message delivery, which can be in the form of print media (leaflets) or media that use the internet (websites). The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of providing education using leaflets and websites to increase student knowledge about risk factors for diabetes mellitus. This study is a quasi-experimental study with a pre-test post-test group design. The results of this study indicate that educational media leaflets and websites can both increase students' knowledge about risk factors for diabetes mellitus.

Abstract

Diabetes is a metabolic disease characterized by hyperglycemia or high blood sugar caused by impaired insulin secretion and insulin resistance. The increasing number of diabetes mellitus can be caused by a lack of knowledge about the disease. Changes in knowledge can be done by providing education through print media or application media. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of providing education about diabetes through leaflets and websites. This type of research is a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest design. The research sample was 40 respondents with an age range of 15-18 years with 2 intervention groups receiving education through leaflets and websites. The results of the Wilcoxon test on leaflet media get a p value of 0.001 which provides education that has an effect on increasing knowledge of diabetes mellitus in adolescents. Then on the media site, the results of the paired t test obtained a p value of 0.000 which provides education with a significant effect on increasing knowledge of diabetes mellitus in adolescents. The conclusion of this research is that leaflet and website media have a significant influence on increasing knowledge of diabetes mellitus in adolescents.

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus or commonly called DM is a disease with chronic metabolism known as the silent killer and has blood glucose levels above normal. The active role of the community is the main key to success in reducing mortality due to DM. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of educational media on knowledge of diabetes mellitus through educational videos and websites for adults. This study used a quasi-experimental research type with a pretest and post-test design with a control group design. The research subjects of the Purwakarta community aged 20-50 years, totaling 40 people with 2 intervention groups received education through educational videos and websites. The results showed the average value of public knowledge after and before being given education for the educational video group, the average value of knowledge before education (6.75) and after education (8.90) and for the knowledge website group before education (7.25). and after education (8,55). The conclusion in this study is that there is an effect of education using educational video media and websites on increasing public knowledge. So that this media can be used as a medium of education for the community.
