Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui kondisi optimal penyimpanan dan masa simpan kompon karet lis kaca kendaraan bermotor berbahan pengisi silika dari batu apung dan tanah liat. Formulasi kompon karet dilakukan dengan memvariasikan bahan pengisi silika dari batu apung dan tanah liat. Rancangan penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan 2 (dua) faktor, terdiri dari 3 (tiga) perlakuan suhu (T) yaitu 25 oC, 35 oC dan 45 oC, serta 5 (lima) perlakuan masa penyimpanan (t) yaitu 1, 3, 6, 9, dan 12 hari. Penentuan masa simpan menggunakan metode Accelerated Shelf-Life Testing (ASLT) dengan pendekatan Arrhenius pada parameter uji yang memiliki energi aktivasi (Ea) paling rendah. Parameter uji yang diamati untuk energi aktivasi kompon adalah kekerasan, tegangan putus, dan perpanjangan putus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa energi aktivasi (Ea) kompon yang terendah terdapat pada parameter uji kekerasan, yaitu sebesar 3435,78 kal/mol dengan masa simpan (t) kompon karet 75,26 hari pada suhu (T) 25 oC. Hasil uji kompon yang didapat pada perlakuan ini memenuhi syarat SNI 06-1490-1989 tentang Kompon Lis Karet Kaca Kendaraan Bermotor, yaitu kekerasan 73 Shore A, tegangan putus 161 kg/cm2, dan perpanjangan putus 506%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan pasir kuarsa sebagai bahan pengisi dalam pembuatan karpet karet, serta mendapatkan komposisi yang tepat dan memenuhi persyaratan. Penelitian ini menggunakan variasi bahan pelunak yaitu minyak biji ketapang dan variasi bahan pengisi yaitu pasir kuarsa. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), Faktor pertama konsentrasi minyak biji ketapang (A) : A1:0,5 phr, A2:1 phr, A3;1,5 phr. Faktor kedua variasi bahan pengisi pasir kuarsa (B) : B1 :70 phr, B2 : 80 phr dan B3: 90 phr. Hasil pengujian secara organoleptis dan fisika didapat  karpet karet yang terbaik  pada formula A1B1 (bahan pelunak 0,5 phr dan bahan pengisi 70 phr) dan hasilnya memenuhi persyaratan SNI Karpet karet (SNI 12-1000-1989). Hasil uji  secara organoleptis terhadap keadaan dan kenampakan yang merata dan tidak mengalami kecacatan setelah dilakukan pencetakan. Hasil pengujian secara fisika diperoleh nilai  kekerasan  70 Shore A, dan tegangan putus 70,67 kg/cm2.

Abstract

Produk karet perapat (rubber seal) pada katup tabung LPG merupakan karet yang digunakan sebagai kelengkapan untuk perapat (seal) pada katup tabung Liquied Petroleum Gas (LPG) pada saat regulator dipasang yang yang berfungsi untuk mencegah terjadinya kebocoran gas pada waktu pengisian atau penggunaan tabung LPG serta memperkuat kedudukan regulator (SNI 7655:2010). Formulasi kompon karet dilakukan dengan variasi ukuran partikel  bahan pengisi pasir kuarsa yaitu 100 mesh dan 400 mesh, dan variasi pasir kuarsa yang digunakan yaitu 50 phr, 55 phr dan 60 phr. Parameter uji yang diamati  adalah kekerasan, tegangan putus, perpanjangan putus dan pampatan tetap. Hasil pengujian karet perapat (rubber seal) pada katup tabung LPG yang baik memenuhi syarat SNI 06-1490-1989 terdapat pada formula A2B1 didapat nilai kekerasan 56 Shore A, tegangan putus 17,6 MPa, perpanjangan putus 590% dan pampatan tetap 5,81%.

Abstract

The research objective was to determine a proper formulation in rubber compound processing by addition of jarak oil epoxy to make rubber washer compound the quality specification.The experimental design used in this study was Complete Randomized Design (CRD) with two replications and two factors. The first factor was the concentration of epoxidized castor oil (P1 : 3 phr, A2 : 2 phr and A3 : 3 phr). The tested parameters were hardness, elongation at break, abrasive resistance and flex resistance, The result showed that the addition castor oil and antioxidants and its interaction had significant effect on the elongation at break and abration resistance. The addition of epoxide castor oil gave insignificant effect on the hardness of the rubber compound. The best treatment was found at epoxy castor oil concentration of 3 phr and antioxidant of 3 phr having characteristic of rubber washer compound that consisted hardness 48 Shore A, elongation at break 2682%, abrasive Resistance 131 DIN mm and flex resistance : no flex.

Abstract

The objective of this research ae making dodol from admixture of fruits and knowng about formula of the dodol so can product the foods fulfill requiments. This research varies five (5) treatment and three(3) repetitions. First treatment is proportion between peneaple and papaya are treatment A4500g,750 g, treatment A3=700g,550g treatment A4=800g,450g and treatment A5=1000g, 250g. paramenter tested are water content ,protein content, ash content, couarse fiber and sugar content. The best treatment was gotton from treatment A4(additional of 800 g pinapple pure. Product characteristic produced are water content : 5,34%,ash content : 0,50%, couarse fiber : 0,33% and sugar content : 40,03%.

Abstract

A research have been conducted about the characteristics of belt conveyor by using coconut shell charcoal filler material. The study aims to compare the physical properties of rubber compound for belt conveyor using coconut shell charcoal filler with carbon black filler material. The composition of rubber compound consist of natural rubber, polymer, mineral oils, TBBS, coconut shell charcoal and carbon black. Substitution of coconut shell charcoal to carbon black was done by varying the weight of coconut shell charcoal for 25 phr, 35 phr and 50 phr for comparison, data characteristic of belt conveyor rubber compound using carbon black type for ISAF, HAF, and FEF is used. The results showed the use of coconut shell charcoal as filler for belt conveyor compound has not been able to provide good physical properties such as carbon black. The highest physical properties of compound is obtained at the weight of coconut shell charcoal at 50 phr with the value of tensile strength (70 kg/cm2), elongation at break (320%), tear resistance (36 kg/cm2), hardness (62 shore A) and abrasion resistance (1.1 mm/kgm).

Abstract

The objective of the research was to obtain the rubber compound formulation with nano sulfur application in vulcanization process to produce vechicle rubber compound that will fulfill the standard specification. The experiment held by crushing the sulphr to covert intonano size through mechanical milling. Nano Sulphur were characterized with XRD method (X-RAY Difraction) and SEM method (Scanning Eletronical magnetic). The steps for making the rubber compound are mastication/milling the rubber and mixing with other supporting chemicals (activator, filler, softener, antioxidant, resin, accelerator) using the open mill, continued with vulcanization processwhich using nano sulphur as the vulcanization agent untilthe rubber compound ready to be molded.the experimental research used factorial completely  randomized design with two factor as treatments, and each combination was replicated for three time. The first factor is the variation of vulcanization temperature (140 ˚C and 170˚C) and the second factor is the variation of suphur size (40nm,60nm,80nm, and 400nm). Tested parameters are modulus,elongation at break ,tear strength and density of rubber compound from the vehicle. The result showed that the variation of vulcanization elongation at break ,tear strength ,and density of rubber compound of the vehicle. The best treatment is obtained in temperature variation 140˚C and sulfur size 60nm (T1S2),with compound rubber characteristic of vehicle for modulus 108N/cm2,elongation at break 565% tear strength 90 kg/cm2, and density 1,220g/cm2.
